Re: the texts : I haven't been able to keep up today, so have probably missed something... that said, I just don't understand why the information from the actual origination of these texts was not, or could not be disclosed. How could they not know or have this information ? IOW, If it came from Travis' phone, could that not be tracked ? If it did not come from Travis' phone, could that not be credibly discerned ? This is just beyond me, I truly thought this was all traceable information. How, what, why ? So if anyone here can explain it to me I would be eternally grateful. TIA

Ziggy, some of us have been confused from the tweets today but I think you answered it. (Just want to be sure)

They talked about Deanna Reid's name showing up on TA's computer because she originally owned it. Then it seemed to jump to the helio phone that Jodi had and these texts were found on it. The texts said at the top TA but JM was saying the user of the helio could have multiple accounts and there were 2 on this phone (TA & JA). JM got the witness to say that the user of the phone (JA) could change the name at the top and make it look like it was sent from TA.

Some of us were wondering if it was established that the only place these texts show up are on the helio? Were they ever verified to be from TA's phone?

Wasn't the helio found much later by Aunt Sue?
If so - all of TA's phone records would have been turned over to LEO by then right?

They could probably look through Travis' phone or text records to see. But that's probably more trouble than it's worth.

Ok before this thread closes - I've come to know about 5 regular trial watchers. One of them was the woman who asked me to move my first day in court because my perfume was too strong (it was hand lotion for the record). I will call her MA. But I apologized to her the next day and we started talking. MA is the one who got in trouble with MDLR and the DT yesterday. I can tell you she is a colorful person, but she would not have "taunted" Maria. Her voice can be heard and has bursts of party girl attitude, but I didn't believe the reports I'd heard based on what I know thus far.

The ladies from Louisiana confirmed to me today that they were chatting about where to have lunch yesterday, and when they said Mexican food, MA burst into song and dance to La Cucaracha. I guess MDLR had already passed by exiting the courthouse but was within earshot. It was Troy from a local news channel that reported it. The nice lady with the cane was not involved, nor was Paul, yet Nurmi wanted them thrown out of the gallery as well. And yes, Jodi did look back and smile with her duping delight as Nurmi was asking the Judge to have them removed.

TA's family is very kind to these people too, as they appreciate the support and the money that the cane lady raises for them. The press people know them, chat with them during breaks and interview them. They have been there from the beginning - each has his/her own reason for becoming watchers. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt and I've enjoyed getting to know them. We talked at length today about many things.

I think they are good people. I think it just really irks JA that she doesn't have any fans.

It's great you've made friends and that they're supportive of travis and his family. I think there's a time and a place for everything and I think it's just odd a grown woman is out in public, at a court house singing and dancing. I also think it's highly inappropriate for anyone to approach a witness in the trial, while the witness is still on the stand and trial is ongoing. I am sure they're nice people but I don't approve of some of their behaviour at the court house.

Thanks, yeah. I was working on other stuff and didn't keep up with the trial because I didn't want to start reading up and then getting tired and going back to bed and losing my place. So now I'm trying to get caught up again.

I wish I would've kept up. I didn't think there would be a few days of actual court put together.

You really didn't miss much. Demarte was a rock star, and detective smith and dworkin found NO CHILD *advertiser censored*. Those are the main events. Judge said today they should be done with witnesses feb 25-26

I'm open to hearing opinions that Dworkin was a bad idea for JM overall. You're right, Twitter conveys not so very much.

The two tweeters you cite, though, IMO are in the pack of least informed and sloppiest of those covering the trial. I don't give their take much weight.

On the other hand, I've never seen JM blunder on trial strategy and I don't believe he did so today. My guesses about his thinking could well be entirely wrong, but I don't believe he erred in calling Dworkin. To the contrary.

I believe that Juan got some very important testimony today. He got the expert to admit that all of those endless *advertiser censored* titles, read out and posted up by the DT, were there as an innoculation by Spybot. THAT is crucial testimony. That means that 99% of what the DT was squawking about is meaningless. As a booby prize, they get to claim that there were 4 or 5 pictures of nude people. Some were pornographic in nature. So thay have 2 or 3 *advertiser censored* pix left over and a few fragments of sex videos. NO CHILD *advertiser censored*.

Is the jury going to care about 4 or 5 pictures of adult nudes, after being told ,erroneoulsy, by the DT there were thousands and thousands of nasty dirty *advertiser censored* hits? I think they will be annoyed.

This testimony also clears Juan and Flores of the bogus misconduct charges. That is a big success from this testimony. jmo :cow:

Lol, but I mean, yeah, they could go through the phone records and Juan could call Flores to the stand and have him go through it and look through and confirm that no Travis didn't text at that time and the defense will come up and do their little song and dance and then they'll call someone on their end...all over this one little text. It's not super important for Juan to prove it. He made his point and he got the jury thinking. And he did it without opening a whole other can of worms because you know how the defense just loves to blow things out of proportion.

Although juan still has a cross of the psychs coming up. Juan was setting this up because part of their conclusions were drawn from this text. You never know what he will have in store.
