Whew! I had to take a little nap to recuperate from the trip down the rabbit hole today. In my dream, I attended a party of sorts where the Queen of Spades sat on a chair and looked down on her beloved joker and the enemy King of Hearts. As they did battle, Alice was sitting across the room with her coterie of friends. She was grinning along with her Cheshire cat, a cougar, and the Queen of Clubs.

All I could hear was the Queen of Spades reciting,

"’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:

All mimsy were the borogoves,

And the mome raths outgrabe.

Her Joker nodded and asked more questions. She recited more of the same.

The King of Hearts approached and asked a question. The Queen of Spades looked down at him and said, "You are totally misrepresenting what I said."

End of dream with a big nod to Lewis Carroll.

What was telling to me, and what I hoped did her in, was her pretending not to understand what Juan was questioning her about when Nurmi had just questioned her about it literally 15 minutes earlier. Like the Deanna Reid interview. She throws out all confident that Deanna was inconsistent and says that Deanna said one thing and then another. But when Juan asks her about the exact same thing, she's all, what, who, when, I don't know which interview you're talking about, you're twisting my words...etc. It also was obvious she hadn't actually seen that interview but was just told what to say about it because when asked for specifics, she had nothing but deflection. And btw, bringing up that thing, that Deanna "lie,"came from Jodi to the doctor. I'm sure of that.

Yes. In her 12 page rant to have Nurmi dismissed she complained that Nurmi didn't impeach Deanna for lying about having sex with Travis. The exact same crap .

LOL. I can't be too hard on the Judge, because I don't want her reversed on appeal. SHHHHH. JMO

Why would you think she would be reversed? She should be a contortionist for Cirque du Soleil. She has bent to the point that the Constitution has less significance for her than a heinous, sadistic murderer's desire for privacy.

Ya ... he's a boy pedo, a girl pedo, a closeted sexual pervert and a player/womanizer. Pick one!

I hope Juan lets the jurors know who Travis REALLY was!!!

Now we need a lawyer. Can the prosecution actually subpoena the defendant?

I don't believe so, they have the right to remain silent.

IANAL but

This witness is a defense witness (not the Pros)
"hostile witness" usually means (I think) if the defense hired her and then she got on the stand and said things against their case or not what they were expecting to hear sort of stuff.

But yes in layman's terms - she is being very hostile toward Juan.

Bottom line, she is trying to ingratiate herself with the jurors while being nasty to Juan.

Here is my question: Why does Dr. MF have such an emotional response to whether or not a fact in this case is brought out? She is not a Party in this relationship, why is she so emotional about what was said or not said by friends of Travis - whom Dr. MF never met?
Cuz someone or something is droppin a boat load of cash for her pyscho babble. I highly doubt she is being paid at the "low end" of the scale like she professed. Props to Linas K for the "shill" nomenclature for this witness. He called it.

She's given up that Right when she took the stand. She can't plead he fifth ammendment rights now

You know, maybe it is just my worry over how things have played out so far in this retrial but some of these questions suggest to me that there is at least one juror that is pro-Defense.

This may be jumping the gun, but should things continue in this vein, I suspect the DP is off the table with this jury.

Yes, I don't think there'll be a DP. I just hope now it's LWOP.

Not a lawyer...but, no, they cannot subpoena defendant. The pros does though get to cross her or, I think the DT could have her testimony stricken with the new CoA ruling.

I was not paying attention, so forgive my not knowing, but did Jodi testify in THIS trial? If so, is SHE receiving a subpoena?
Since Jodi was the earlier 'secret witness', she will be crossed by JM. Otherwise, the defendant had the option NEVER to testify. It was her CHOICE.
