Yes, along with lots of feigned remorse. The Trash-Travis defense with zero good evidence and lots of debunked evidence certainly seems insane now.

I have always believed Nurmi would have been very happy to go with a mental illness defense. Not insanity, since she clearly knows right from wrong--but mental issues like he is trying to prove now. I just think Jodi would not allow it before now. I have no doubt that all the Travis trashing is all Jodi--Nurmi was just taken along for the ride. He has tried to get released from this case so many times and I do not think that had much to do with his schedule or his "other" professional plans. I think he just did not think it was prudent to do what his client insisted he do. He's going along with it, not because he likes or cares about Jodi, but because he doesn't want her to get the death penalty. Defense attorneys are funny that way.
