I am truly stunned that he has revealed such a bias; he has essentially told every juror that in his "esteemed" opinion he doesn't trust the word of those who have strong faith-based values. What a judgmental, bigoted person who over-values his expertise--can't see the jurors being comfortable trusting a professional such as this.

Didn't defense devote their whole case regarding the fact that both Jodi and Travis were Mormans?

Regarding " I will not serve one day in prison for a heinous crime in which I had no part"...

Actually her sentence she wrote is a double negative, which equals a positive= I however will serve one day in prison for a heinous crime in which I had a part.

These are negatives which don't cancel each other out: they are in different clauses. Jodi is saying she won't serve a day in prison for the murder. And she is saying she did not do the crime.

Likewise, you could say: " Geff is not a credible expert witness, which doesn't mean anything to the DT."

Didn't defense devote their whole case regarding the fact that both Jodi and Travis were Mormans?

Pretty much, that's why JA was TA's "dirty little secret", and not because she was someone he just couldn't get rid of...

That is the most stupid and insulting response he could give to the jury. He should have just said we don't know.

Completely agree. It just perfectly brings together the fact that the DT will take any situation and, based little or no fact, fit their narrative around it to make Travis sound like a disgusting pervert and Jodi like his subservient sex slave.

Travis went into the bathroom and summoned Jodi for oral sex and Jodi went like she was told and waited around. "I'm here for your *advertiser censored*, sir."

And it's not even what the Huges' said. They said she would wait around for him while he was in the bathroom and then run off when he came out.

It was a very stupid, ill informed thing to say. All the bias. Right there.

Well, how can it be assumptions, when the Hughes actually WITNESSED that happen? They saw it.

And they certainly did NOT witness TA calling JA into the bathroom and her entering. Obviously they witnessed him leaving the bathroom and coming upon his dearly beloved stalker right outside the door waiting to escort him back to whichever room he was heading to next.

MOO

If the jurors have cottoned on, they will be looking forward to Fonesca's performance, and her inevitable undoing. I know I am.

I think that that statement might be one of the worst things he could have said.
It tells me that he doesn't really think positively about Mormons and that affects his whole testimony, his motives, everything.

1. I'd think; could his views regarding Mormonism have tainted how he viewed Travis Alexander?
2. How can he present a total view of JA's and TA's relationship if he picks and chooses who to talk to?
3. Did he really, as an expert, assume that Mormons were going to lie? What did he base that on? What does it say about him as a professional and a human being if he dismisses people based on their religion?

He should be doing NONE OF THIS! He is not there to treat Jodi he is there to evaluate her. He is there to interview as many different people as he can- WITHOUT a preconceived notion in his head- along with the defendant to form a well rounded, informed (the more people the better, the more info the better), professional opinion.

No MATTER WHERE IT LEADS.

I can hardly believe this man admitted as much as he did today on the stand to both the defense and the prosecution.

Now I know why they did not want camera's in the courtroom. Law experts, psychologists, therapists, domestic violence victims and advocates alike would be having a field day with this lunacy on every media and news outlet available.

Travis may have been waiting for just the right opportunity to give JA a demonstration on how to remove a ceramic tile from the floor without damaging any surrounding tiles. We just don't know.

Tweets misleading. Jen's came closest. Per BK, he said that Mormons would be afraid to admit to premarital sex so they would be unreliable- they would lie- if asked whether or not they had sex with Travis.

Why the hell would he care if anyone had sex with Travis? What the hell would that prove? She slaughtered him because she was done with him, she devalued him. I don't understand why Geff would want to discuss sex with the women who were Mormon. If he slept with half of Arizona, it has ABSOLUTELY NO BEARING ON THIS CASE.

I rue the day I saw Jodie talked about on CNN and came here to watch the trial. Actually the trial wasn't half bad, it is this abomination, this retrial of punishment.

I mean I can imagine sneaking off into hidden corners to fool around a bit if you've just started dating.. But come on, the DT is so counterproductive with this crap. They themselves have shown how in his business the Hughes were, how strict they were about his love life.. That's the reason TA supposedly made JA his dirty secret right? And then he somehow calls JA into the bathroom for *advertiser censored* in the home of his nosy judgmental friends who might knock on the bathroom and catch them in the act?

YEAH RIGHT.

Anyone have any idea what this means?

He used that when questioned about the DAPS test, we modified the second form of DAPS not for diagnostic purposes but to get a flavor because JA had identified two traumas(apparently whatever led to the murder and the alleged choking incident).

Then he went on to say that the second test was just qualitative, to give them a flavor of what JA was thinking and feeling after being in jail for so long...

Iows, he was using the tests to make a non-diagnosis to support the defense claims, imo.

Thank you! And thanks to all of those who express these same views. I am not Mormon but I couldn't help thinking what an educated idiot he is. His Institute and those he employs are just the lowest of the low.

It's also, again, not their story. They didn't see Jodi go in. They said she would wait around, while he was unaware, while he was in there and then when he came out she'd rhn away. He never knew she was there. It sounds like they saw her doing this and it sounds like she always did this when he was in the bathroom. He clearly did not even hear that story and ran with it when Juan told him about it. It's completely ridiculous.

Would absence of internalized anger be consistent with PTSD, Bi Polar or DV #jodiarias #3tvarias

I think this question would be pro-prosecution.... JM's case presented that JA had internalized anger. A lot of it. That would mean JA is behaving inconsistent with PTSD, Bipolar, or DV. Although that juror might have mixed up Bipolar and BPD, PTSD and DV are the mitigating factors on JA's list.

And it's pretty obvious that lack of internalized anger means there's no PTSD, DV or the B-diagnosis. This is just a matter of common sense, no matter what BS Geff provides.

Ergo: I interpret this question as snark. Whoosh! There go all the psych mitigators.

Odd that the person he believes that he can take their word is the liar herself. He should have had a psychiatrist for himself while he was speaking to her to keep from being sucked into her magical world. If he paid attention in school, he would know that is recommended.

He is so suspect of any religious person having reason to lie to him that it makes me wonder if he isn't an Atheist. Especially since he does not seem to have any problem lying on the stand under oath.

Dr Geff was the one who brought up confirmational bias, no?

BBM

Wasn't Jodi's favorite flavor Strawberry? as in frappuccino ?

Correct me if I'm wrong but is there not medication for Bi polar as opposed to BPD? Are they trying to sneak in bi polar as an untreated condition she had that she is medicated for now so it wasn't her fault?

I have a friend that was diagnosed as BP. She does take medication for it,but it has to be monitored.

I was insulted on your behalf. He sounded like a right pillock basically saying all Mormons would lie if he interviewed them so why bother.

Well if by "all Mormons" he means only Jodi & Marc McGee, then I'd have to agree.
