No, if there is a hung jury this time, there will be no retrial. JSS will decide LWP or LWOP.

You can't use the media and public when it suits you, and ask a court of law to trample upon the constitution when you feel you aren't getting your way like a child. It's like the fifth amendment, you can't talk yourself into a corner and then claim that protection. You cannot pick and choose when to use it.
 
I can see Nurmi now saying, none of the witnesses will testify with any media present so we're not putting any witnesses on.

But come to think of it I can also see Jodi saying, no, we went through all the trouble to get these people, I hired a PI, so we're putting them on. Very curious to see what the next course of action will be.

Do you think the message to JSS (and Nurmi) today from the COA will stop the antics of sealing everything up or just the secret testimony? Can the sealed sidebars be released once the trial is over?
 
Oh looky. "Deadly Sins" here on the crime channel in the UK is showing the Arias episode AGAIN. I'm actually stuck in a Jodi Arias loop in my real life too. Jesus H. Christ on a cracker - can *I* beg for the DP, please....?

No he damn well knew this would happen. He's just trying to put as much time between his case and those victim impact statements. And hoping the more time that goes by they might loose more jurors and get a mistrial. It's strategy.

She shoved her frigging face in EVERY camera available before & after the original trial. So no, just no. The taxpayers are paying for your sorry half-assed defence, killer. They're entitled to hear where their money is going. And that means they're entitled to hear your lies - and the lies of everyone you've paid to testify for you.

I can't even with this....

Agreed. Any trial lawyer worth any weight, has plan a,b,c especially in a situation where they are asking court to set precedence.this is pure strategy now.
 
Apparently this was just a foolish decision on JSS's part. Fear of 'potential' threats, and 'choking on a chicken bone' becoming a credible death threat that has everybody hitting the panic button. It's like a bunch of 6 year olds. Jeez.
 
:dunno: I don't even know that I care if everything is secret from here on out. While I want her to get the DP.... I :dunno:. I'd be just as happy to end this spectacle and give her lwop!

Phew! What a day. Im trying to figure out why JSS did this last week, just to be shot down. Waste time¿ Seems to be the strategy. Delay, delay.

To me, it's just like the 'moment' is too big for her. She's scared to exercise her authority, in her first DP case, for fear of appeals. And the DT have sensed that, and run amok in her court room since Day 1. I'm sorry - but I've watched many trials (as have many people here, obviously) - and judges usually instill a sense of authority & calm in me, a sense that they outrank everyone in their court room, and deservedly so. Judge Secret Stephens does none of that for me, IMO. I DON'T have faith in her. At all.
 
The writing is on the wall for JSS that her decision to block public was just plain wrong. She just needs to reverse her decision and allow everyone back in the trial, and demand the trial continue.

If Nurmi and JA dont want to testify now, too bad. Thats on them.
