Hi. I registered about 2 weeks ago when the Ferguson/Brown thread went to the Parking Lot. I've been reading here since Casey Anthony, and I have to say, every time I come back, it's like seeing old friends again. This is one of my favorite places to be - good mods, intelligent and funny discussions. And the news is unbiased - I don't even pay attention to MSM anymore - I come here to get the real feel of the cases.

As for Jodi Arias, I agree, she is a terror, scarier than a character in the movies. The past few days have been so boring - I'm ready to see Juan again! (I have a little crush on him too.) :blushing:

I'm confused... didn't she move to AZ AFTER they broke up? and she was in Cali the whole time before?

Travis and Jodi met September 2006, but didn't start dating until February 2007, and they broke up five months later in June, and Jodi moved to Mesa, and moved back to Yreka in April 2008, and two months later Travis is dead.

Coming out of the shadows to say....

I think it is essential that JM really, really walks the jury through the timeline of the relationship. An outsider peeking into defense testimony would come away with the impression that JA & TA had a ten year live-in relationship where he controlled her and she fell "victim" to his evil ways. Even though the jury knows better, the way in which the defense crawls along and makes such a big deal out of every single word TA ever uttered can imprint in a jurors mind and get them feeling as if the relationship was longer than it actually was. I mean geez, the time that they were "officially a couple" was only a handful of months. Look at all the photo's that SHE took with his friends so clearly he wasn't shunning her, he just wasn't telling the full extent of the physical relationship.

So anyway, I think Juan really needs to work to overcome the subliminal idea that the relationship was longer and more formal that it ever was.

I'm glad you posted!! Out of curiosity, is this retrial a big deal in Mesa, or has everyone pretty much moved on?

I only know a couple of people that have watched and care. Everyone I have talked to about it knows she is guilty as all get out and it's not really on the news and I haven't even heard Nancy Grace mention it. I personally believe that despite Nurmi not wanting his reputation talked about for years, that is exactly what is going to happen. This trial, especially if the "secret witness" ~wink wink~ gets to continue in secret will open up a can of worms for all other trials to want the same and defendants filing lawsuits that they didn't get that "benefit" and it hurt their trial...blah blah blah. It just cannot happen and I hope the COA sees the potential danger in allowing it also.

hi! welcome! JM did do that in the original trial but you are right. This jury will need a refresher course. But Juan Martinez will do it. That is, if JSS allows him.

BBM--I so wish that those who are tweeting would give more information on this juror, as well as others. I'm so frustrated with the lack of juror information coming out. And I'm having a hard time understanding why, if this juror caught his attention to such an extent, he isn't tweeting more about it. Is this the female juror who is taking copious notes, what is her demeanor, what are their impressions of her, what did her head shaking communicate to them, etc.

Of course he did. Even though all the other friends knew it was her that killed Travis. He was IMO quite smitten with her, even visiting her in jail....I do think later, as more information came out he changed his mind about her.

I see from tweets that Nurmi repeatedly refers to TA as T-Dog. I hope the jury is smart enough to recognize this cheap trick designed to indicate that the victim needed killing. Lower than low, imo.
