*REVISIT* Could We Have Gotten a Confession from Casey?

This is a great question - one I have pondered myself a few times, LOLS.

All things considered, I believe arresting Casey on July 16 was ... to use a favorite Anthonyism .... "absolutely" appropriate. Lying to LE about such important details as where she was from the time she allegedly dropped Caylee off at the babysitters and returned to pick her up in concert with the other lies, half truths, innuendo and misinformation certainly wasn't helping to find Caylee - in fact - IMO it was leading investigators down the wrong (opposite) path - away from the truth.

I do believe if LE had not arrested her so soon, they may have gotten more clues. I also think she could have been interviewed in a more productive way. I don't think she would have ever told the truth of what happened but they may have been able to find the body had they not arrested her as soon as they did and they would have had more time to interview her.

I totally agree with you on this.

They put her on the defensive too quickly.

Maybe using a Grogan approach, playing along, and trying to gain her trust would have been a better strategy.

They did a good job of showing how illogical the Zanny story was. Unfortunately, that's all they accomplished.

Perhaps they took her age and immaturity into account and thought they could intimidate her with an aggressive line of questioning. Their approach didn't work as she had 30 days to rehearse and get her emotions in check. She was probably expecting the reaction she got.

They should have played along and taken advantage of the time they had before she lawyered up.

Who knows where Casey might have led them, had she not been in jail and under house arrest.

IMO!!

I don't think Casey would say anything. It's my opinion that she will never admit to any wrong doing. But if she weren't on house arrest, she may go back to the scene or back to some piece of evidence that may help LE find Caylee.
She also wouldn't be spending so much time at JB office getting reminders not to say or do anything.
In the end Casey will be her own worst enemy.

Scott Peterson didn't talk either, but he left a lot of clues.

Casey will never say anything because she is a liar. She was cornered with everything about sawgrass being a lie she said yes. Then they ask again and she gives them back the lie.....She wiil never talk.

I think she would perhaps slip up if she was out drinking.

But at this point, it's not going to happen. She's already on the defensive and I don't think there's a single person out there that she'd be comfortable enough with to let loose, kwim?

Casey has had every chance to tell the truth. She could have told the truth on the phone to 911, to the police, on the way to Universal, in Universal, when she was arrested, in jail, at home, back at jail, back at home, back in jail.....

She will not tell the truth unless it is to her benefit. If it betters her life, her enjoyment of life, increases her power or pleasure in life, then she would tell only the truth that would help her achieve this, otherwise she will keep lying. She has no feelings for anyone one but herself. She will not be guiltied into it, she will not be bullied into it, she will not be begged into it. She has no empathy. Her only concern is herself. Offer to make her life better, she might talk, but I would not bet on her being truthful then.

I am not in Law Enforcement nor a psychologist; but it occurs to me that if we want "mother of the year" Casey to talk, some environmental changes need to happen. Provided that she can't be legally kept in a jail cell right now.

For the sake of the family and neighborhood, put Casey into a safe house.
The safe house should smell like "rotten pizza". The safe house should not have a computer nor tv. The safe house should be sound proof. The safe house should have pictures of Caylee put on the walls and strategically placed for Casey's comfort or discomfort. The safe house would allow her to have limited contact with her family. That is no big deal since most the day, the family can't ask her questions and the other part Casey spends in her room on the internet currently.

She is a social creature demanding to have the undivided attention of anyone around her. She will go stir crazy without contact, her vices and attention. That will get her to open up. She has a sick need to be heard and seen. Take that away and I think the guilt will eat her up inside.

What do you guys think???

Well I for sure think she should not be sitting in her comfortable home, with everyone around her pampering her and catering to her needs, with a computer and phone. Take these privaledges and luxuries away and stop p*ssyfooting around her and they might actually get somewhere in this case!

just a reminder to please do a search on a topic prior to posting a new thread. thank you so much. :)

I agree with you Magnolia. At this point, it's highly unlikely that she will say anything else. GA, CA and LA might, but not KC.

Like you said, a lot of the information they got to convict Scott Peterson came from him!

What if, just what if I had a sodium pentathol dart gun............:woohoo:

No computer. No phone. No family. No letters. No nothing. KC loves KC so just let her be with KC. Isolate her from everyone and everything, then maybe she would be eager to talk with someone about Caylee.

Casey has the right to counsel, the right to remain silent, etc. You can't force her to do anything at this point except give physical specimens of her DNA, hair for comparison (which was already collected). Casey has counsel and her counsel is doing a fairly good job of keeping her quiet! She does not have to testify at trial if she does not want to. She can't be forced to take a lie detector, take sodium pentathol, and so on.

If she really wants to find her daughter and she really does not remember what she did with her or even if she thinks she knows ... wouldn't she want to do whatever she can to help locate her, maybe pentathol will help her remember the baby sitters phone number.... A mother usually puts her child ahead of herself -- there are no rights when it comes to having children -- all the rights go to the child ahead of the mother. The main goal here is not Casey's rights.... the mail goal here is to find Caylee!!

Either that or tell her that someone that she really "cares" about is saying things about what she said or did (fighting lies with lies)...

I agree with you Truth.
If KC had not gotten out of jail, and wasn't now the center of the universe( in her mind ) and had to sit in solitary and have all of those horrible thoughts of what she did, what really happened, she may have cracked and talked.
As it is right now, KC is believeing she is Paris Hilton's clone and she gets to come and go, and no one asks her anything she doesn't want to hear!:furious:

"What if, just what if I had a sodium pentathol dart gun............"

If so, then please make your way to Hopespring dr. in Florida and put that sucker to good use! ;P

I totally agree with this. Tell her there's "inside information" from her friends and family -- lead her on -- she'll talk and assume they already know what she knows.

One thing for sure, if I was Cindy and she was in my home, I for sure would make her talk. Anything to find my Grandaughter.

Couldn't find anywhere to ask this or talk about it, but...............

Why can't they hook her up to say a pulse monitor or BP monitor and then have someone filming the areas where they are searching. Make her sit there and watch it and see when her heart or BP elevates..........

Personally, I think this is an excellent idea and can't see why they don't do it.

Okay, guys cut me down, tell me why it can't be done (but it should be - best idea I've heard if I must say so myself).

Or a lie detector test - can they force her to take one of those???

Simply because we live in the good Ol' US of A! lol. Great idea though!
