I paid 3.85 per gallon, yesterday. Over $80.00 to fill up.

We must restart the US Pipeline. Some folks don't be able to work with the high cost of fuel. Moo....

I was under the impression that the Keystone pipeline at issue wasn't completed and would not necessarily have a significant impact on US gas supply, since it was tapped to transport oil extracted from tar sands, which is of a different grade than that used for gasoline (petrol).

Which is it though? Is Putin blocking media outlets and restricting social media, or is that the West blocking and removing services like Meta, twitter, visa and more?

How can the Russian people know the truth when the West has shut down their apple and facebook apps?
Russia blocks access to Facebook

Russia's media regulator said Friday it will block access to Meta-owned Facebook.

The regulator said Facebook violated federal law by restricting access to accounts of several state-affiliated media outlets.

Meta's vice president of global affairs, Nick Clegg, saidRussian authorities had ordered the platform to stop fact-checking and labeling content posted on Facebook by state-owned outlets like RT and Sputnik. Meta refused the request, he said.

Some companies like Twitter and Googlehave committed to labeling state-owned media and suspending advertising in Russia.

To summarize — Facebook and Twitter have been labeling content that is shared by government accounts. This is done to let other users know the source of the information provided. Sorta like “FYI: this is a Russian government account” so make of that what you will. (They are labeling content shared by all government accounts — Ukraine, US, Poland, etc.) Russia told Facebook and Twitter to quit with the labels. FB and Twitter said no. So, Russia just blocked access to these sites instead.

Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher fundraiser for Ukraine refugees tops $6.8M | ABS-CBN News
Hollywood couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have raised over $6.8 million as of Friday, a day after setting up a ******** page seeking humanitarian aid for Ukrainian refugees.

Kunis, who was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine in 1983, moved to the United States in 1991.

"I have always considered myself an American, a proud American... But today, I have never been more proud to be a Ukrainian," Kunis said in an embedded video.

"The events that have unfolded in Ukraine are devastating. There is no place in this world for this kind of unjust attack on humanity."

Kutcher, sitting by Kunis' side in the video, said the funds would be used to provide refugee and humanitarian aid to Ukrainians affected by Russia's invasion of the neighboring country.

"The principle challenge right now is logistics. We need to get housing and we need to get supplies and resources into the area," said Kutcher. "And I have never been more proud to be married to a Ukrainian."

Keystone pipeline was stalled by concerns that the pipe would leak - environmentalist concerns. The day that Biden was elected, he cancelled the keystone pipeline. There's a billion dollar lawsuit related this Biden decision. It's a violation of NAFTA.

There's a big difference between Canadian oil, Russian oil, Middle East oil and local fracking. Which is the cleanest oil? Are earthquakes actually a result of fracking? Hollywood celebrities claim that Canadian oil is dirtier than all other oil. The USA imports from Russia. Hollywood celebrities also support USA fracking as a clean oil option.

The USA continues to pay Putin for oil even though there's a better option in the little sister to the North.

Top of the kill list': Rep. John Garamendi speaks with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

A Russian Mom Thought Her Son Was On 'Drills.' Now He's A POW.

Russian moms can stop crying. Ukraine has said that moms can travel to Ukraine to pick up their sons. Ukraine has said that Russian moms are refusing to believe their sons' description of the Russian war on Ukraine.

If they don't believe their sons, they can travel to Ukraine to pick them up. No one will stop them - except Russian bullets.

After March 8, the number of commercial flights than can land in Russia, proper are going to be severely restricted:

Turkish Airlines & Pegasus Airlines, Emirates, and some other Mid-East flights ( Qatar Airlines, ? Egypt Air, Royal Jordanian ?) Korean Air will have one weekly flight from Seoul, 0nly it appears.

No other Asian flights, no US / Latin America / Canadian / European flights.

If you can get to Istanbul, it looks like you'll still be able to get directly into 'Stan countries under Russian control like Uzbekistan. From Dehli, you can get Qatar Airlines to Moscow.

But pretty much all commercial air traffic into Russia is going to funnel through Istanbul, Dubai, Doha, & such , Dehli, Seoul. This ought to be interesting to watch

What about flights from Beijing?

Someone upthread linked this - just read it.

"Of the plant’s six reactors,
  • Unit 1 remained in planned maintenance,
  • the operating power of Unit 2 had been increased to 760 Megawatt electric (MWe) by 07:45 CET,
  • Unit 3 had been disconnected from the grid and was in low power mode,
  • Unit 4 was operating at 960MWe, which is near full capacity, and
  • Units 5 and 6 were shutdown.
The site’s spent fuel pools were operating normally. A visual inspection of the dry storage facility did not detect any damage, according to the information provided to the IAEA."

Putin has placed adrenaline risk above common sense.

Is this a negotiation between Ukraine and USA to trade Russian fighter jets for USA F16s? That could be the tip of the scales that Putin is waiting for - a Ukrainian piloted USA F16 attacking Russian convoys in Ukraine. Proxy war that spreads beyond the borders of Ukraine?
I think what they’re trying to do is have Poland give Ukraine Russian made fighter jets, then the US will replace Poland’s jets with US ones. It wouldn’t be super helpful to send US fighter jets to the Ukraine because they don’t know how to operate them like they do Russian fighter jets (this is just one of the reasons for this so called 3 way trade). I don’t think the plan is to send US fighter jets to Ukraine. IMO
