Japan’s military has said it spotted four large Russian amphibious warfare ships sailing close to its islands as they traveled west, possibly towards Europe, Reuters is reporting.

Pictures of the amphibious transports, typically used for landing expeditionary forces ashore, published by Japan’s defence ministry showed what appeared to be military trucks loaded onto the deck of one of the vessels.

Praying for the rest and their rescuers <3

"It was not yet clear whether all those who sheltered in the theater had survived. Taruta said on Thursday that 1,300 people were in the building when it was bombed and 130 have so far been rescued.

"People are doing everything themselves. My friends went to help, but due to constant shelling it was not safe. People are clearing away the rubble themselves. There is no rescue operation, because all the services that are supposed to rescue people, to treat them, to bury them, these services no longer exist," Taruta told Ukrainian television."

Agriculture minister: Ukraine’s basic food supply enough for years. According to Roman Leshchenko, Ukraine’s current wheat stock will be enough for two years. The stock of sunflower oil will be enough for five years, along with corn enough for 1.5 years.
I do understand that foreign leaders are first looking to boost their economy, while Ukraine is under attack:

Maybe Putin is getting more frustrated with Finland,due to the Russian citizens fleeing Russia to Finland:
Russians who oppose the war in Ukraine are leaving through Finland
And then this!
A snitch-line!

Seems that Russians have got technical,ict skills,talents are being in good use for Finland.

It is amazing that Russia is having to call on mercenaries, Chechans, Syrians, to help with the war. That is pathetic. The Russians are reported to be taking heavy casualties, but the Army is huge. This shouldn't be a problem. I wonder if it is more a reflection that many Russian soldiers (and perhaps officers) are increasingly showing reluctance to continue this war (especially the atrocities) against their cousins. Putin's comments yesterday about "purging traitors and scum" could show he is increasingly worried about internal dissent. I do believe he has kept the majority of his best forces well within Russia to prevent a coup. But can he trust those forces?

I think that the Eastern Orthodox Easter coming up next month will be interesting. Ukraine is deeply religious, and many Russians are as well.

It seems to me that Putin is deliberately targeting areas with children, elderly, civilian population. It is inhumane.

U.S. citizen killed in Ukraine today, says U.S. official: “We can confirm the death of a U.S. citizen in Ukraine on March 17. We offer our sincerest condolences to the family on their loss. Out of respect to the family during this difficult time, we have no further comment.”

The U.S. citizen was killed in central Chernihiv, where a local Ukrainian police official said shelling by Russian troops killed multiple people -- the total number remains unknown

Their explanation makes sense:

"While Guardian's business in Russia is a very small part of Koch, we will not walk away from our employees there or hand over these manufacturing facilities to the Russian government so it can operate and benefit from them," Dave Robertson, president and COO of Koch Industries, said Wednesday in a statement posted by the company.

Calling Russia's attack on Ukraine "an affront to humanity" that "violates our company's values and principles," Robertson also said the company has provided financial assistance to workers and their families from Ukraine and other aid to those affected in neighboring countries."
Meanwhile, Russia just seized $10 billion in foreign planes.

Putin helps Russian airlines appropriate $10 billion of foreign planes
Koch Industries is not about to hand over facilities so that Russia can benefit from them but is willing to pay corporate taxes and income taxes to continue doing business there. Tax payments increase government funds. Government funds are used to buy weapons and missiles and tanks and foreign mercenaries. They are also used to build vacuum bombs and cluster munitions. Government funds in Russia are used to murder Ukrainian women and children. Forgive me for thinking you’re full of excrement, Koch Industries. Your “company values and principles” amount to absolutely nothing.

Hoping all this means a big "NO" to Russia's request for arms

China 'will never attack Ukraine', praises Ukrainian unity and resistance...

...Fan Xianrong said China “will never attack Ukraine” but will support it economically and politically during a meeting with Lviv’s regional military administration, Ukrainian media outlet Ukrinform reported, citing the administration’s press service.

China will never attack Ukraine, we will help, in particular in the economic direction.

In this situation, which you have now, we will act responsibly. We have seen how great the unity of the Ukrainian people is, and that means its strength...

Xianrong added:

China is a friendly country for the Ukrainian people. As an ambassador, I can responsibly say that China will forever be a good force for Ukraine, both economically and politically. We will always respect your state, we will develop relations on the basis of equality and mutual benefit. We will respect the path chosen by Ukrainians because this is the sovereign right of every nation.”

Does anyone have a list of the American or other international companies that have not decided to temporarily pause their business dealings in Russia? I doubt that Koch Industries is the only one, and each one has their own reasons if they decide to pause their business dealings or not. Even Germany is still buying oil and gas from Russia. We'll never get 100% across the Board sanctions from every country and business. JMO.

This chemical weapon talk is especially scary, because Blinken is right, the US called this invasion well before it ever happened.

That call wasn't merely a lucky guess, and I can't imagine this one is either.

Originally conceptualized as a simple "withdraw" vs. "remain" list, our new list of companies now consists of four categories:

1) WITHDRAWAL - Clean Break: companies completely halting Russian engagements;

2) SUSPENSION - Keeping Options Open for Return: companies temporarily curtailing operations while keeping return options open;

3) SCALING BACK - Reducing Activities: companies scaling back some but not all operations, or delaying investments;

4) DIGGING IN - Defying Demands for Exit: companies defying demands for exit/reduction of activities

Ukraine war: Russia 'has lost up to a fifth of its pre-invasion force'

Ukraine war: Russia 'has lost up to a fifth of its pre-invasion force' | Daily Mail Online
Wow. From the article you linked:

The staggering (Russian) toll is roughly double NATO losses in Afghanistan over two decades of fighting, and roughly equal to US casualties in the 36-day battle of Iwo Jima - one of the bloodiest clashes in the Pacific during the Second World War. Losses are now so severe, US intelligence believes some Russian units cannot keep fighting.
