S.A. Concerned Defense will Sell Pics of Caylee's Remains

Its none of my business when people go back to work,but I have to agree with you. When we had a horrible death in my family, my job gave me one week off for the funeral, thats it. I had to work the whole time it was going on, or we would have lost OUR house. We had 2 tiny kids and my husband was in college. My sister worked for the same company, took tons of time off, and they would not hold her position for her. They told her they would find her another position but you know how that goes. So right, not everyone can stay off work as long as they please.Money has to come from SOMEWHERE, it is ridiculous to think they aren't getting any.

I had a horrible death in my family too and had to be at work the day after I found out. I've had many friends in this situation too. People brought some food around but I never considered asking for donations and checking into the Ritz. I also had a hard time eating and would have thought it was a sick joke if someone asked me to have dinner at somewhere like Morgans on the day of getting the news.

I sooo agree. The As have set a terrible precedent and I fear they may inspire other people, looking for a life with more money, to pull something similar and kill a cute child in their family knowing that they can go from the verge of bankruptcy to the Ritz and not working.

And, I think this case has made it obvious that there needs to be a law covering "failure to report a child missing". Thank you for the link.

There are other things I would like to see added now such as the defense team should be included and they need to close the 3rd party loopholes.

Where in the article does it say the A's have made money selling photos or that the A's intend to sell these photos? Defense = Casey and her lawyers.

EDIT to add: Looks like little Caylee's funeral will be held up even longer.

I do remember hearing somewhere that one channel did purchase still photos

Sorry you have someone like that, but you evidently are okay with it now.

That was my first clue in this case - The Anthonys had no friends. It was a totally closed family structure. If that had been a normal family we would have seen friends around all the time trying to help the family. They had to rely on people like KFN who were criminals to surround them.

When you have a daughter like that, you can't afford friends if you want your self perceived allusions to survive. Any close friend would have known the truth about the daughter so the facade would not work.

I'm not really ok with it. I have distanced myself and my children from the disfunction because it's evil and disruptive, but I miss my family. People aren't two dimensional and I think that the A's did have friends, we saw them in the beginning of all of this. These people had no idea who the Anthony family really was and as soon as they found out they wanted nothing more to do with them.
The whole thing is just incredibly sad, that's how I feel about it. I feel sad for the little girl that Casey once was and I feel disgust for the monster she has become. I feel sadness as well as disgust for the rest of the family too.
People are not black and white, that's why we have such a hard time understanding one another.

That is a great idea. Like the law in our state where if you refuse a breathalyzer or a blood test in a suspected DUI, then you are pleading guilty to the charges.

I was asking about the law on this yesterday and was surprised when someone said they couldn't do anything unless/until conviction. Nice to know they can take action at the "accused" stage.

I think parents or anyone can be representatives, if they are acting in that capacity with authority. I don't know if that's the case here. But hopefully all the As will be charged so that none of them, or their representatives can profit from sales to media.

If the parents sold some pics, it really bothers me that they may have pocketed 100s of thousands, used it to pay for Casey's defence and a night at the Ritz, and then pleaded for public donations on top of what they sold the pics for. Many people who donated probably could barely afford to do so, yet the As are at the Ritz. And, then they asked for donations for the funeral, until they saw everyone turn on them for it.

If they have been selling pics, I think they should give the money back to the donors as I think many were probably misled into donating, thinking the As had nothing.

I think that KC's ability to manipulate everyone around her is key to the way this played out. I really believe that she was able to manipulate CA into believing that the imaginary nanny kidnapped Caylee. CA loved her granddaughter and KC manipulated her into believing Caylee was alive. I think the story about the nanny was believed because the only other alternative was that Caylee was dead. CA held on to that hope and ran with it, and if I were her I'd probably have done the same thing. That 0.000001 chance would be all I needed to search the country for my grandchild. And if some big tv network offered me six figures to give them a video, I'd probably do it. Searching for that child, however fruitless it was to the rest of us, cost money, and that was an easy way to find the money to keep the search and hope alive. So if the A's sold videos or photos, I'm not going to fault them for it.

And all this talk about CA and GA not working and living the high life is , no offense, a load of crap. How could anyone go to work everyday when their granddaughter is missing and presumed dead. How would CA safely care for a pt when this is on her mind? IMO George and Cindy are victims of KC as well.

They can go to work just as thousands of other people go to work when tragedy strikes their families. The A's financial situation has actually improved since all of this began. They have had a financial windfall because of the murder of their grandaughter at the hands of their daughter who they continue to defend. This is nothing short of disgusting.
I think I wouldn't be so bothered if they weren't perpetuating Casey's lies but that's not the case. I also don't believe that they are victims in the true sense of the word. There's an old saying, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." Casey fooled her parents hundreds of times and they continued to give her full access to every part of their lives and at times actively made ammends for her rather than hold her accountable.

The only victim here is Caylee. George, Cindy and Lee are beneficiaries.

Most people in this country can not even afford to be off work for a week to bury their dead. Most of the people who post here have had the experience of having someone they loved die and buried them within 3 days and have had to go back to work right after. It has nothing to do with choice or the correct way to greave, it is a fact of life that most people do not have TV stations offering hundreds of thousands of dollars for our loved ones pictures, and even if we did would refuse to exploit them in that way in order to take months off of work to greave, most people of conscious consider such funds “blood money” and would thus refuse. I could not afford to take a week off work when my father, my mother, my brother, my sister, or my grandson died, though I certainly needed to, as I needed to when my daughter was missing. I could not stay in luxury hotels and eat in restaurants that charge over $100 a meal, and the fact that the A’s were doing so while police were searching thru a woods for pieces of their “beloved granddaughter” is highly offensive to me. The A’s did not search for Caylee, they never even “lowered” themselves to beg for her return. They just took in the money.

You know, this is sad. In most cases like this, the State and Defense would be able to come to a verbal agreement that no photos would be make it to the public, etc... And it would STICK! Just sad.
