This is one weird case.
1. No mention by Police whether or not Samantha has accessed bank accounts etc.
2. Doesn't appear to be any searching in public for Samantha
3. Female work colleague of Samantha with same surname not mentioned or heard from.
4. Husband does not appear to be a suspect and has not displayed any outrage at the fact his wife is missing.
5. Neighbours silent. Does this mean media are co operating with police by not seeking out interviews with neighbours?
It begs the question has Sam had an episode and is hiding out from detection?

I think the immediate family will be the first to know if there are any developments, but they probably are not informed of specific leads. Not unless something develops.

I bet they know what times the phone pinged though, and if the police are having any luck with Samantha's potential GPS readings.

And then this information could be filtered further, by the immediate family, before it reaches the ears of the extended family (parents, brothers, sisters, etc). Depending on the level of confidentiality the police are requesting.

Maybe @ediethedog knows how deep the police updates to the family might go (having been involved in a similar situation).

Immediate family will be informed- household only probably… they would know as much as possible , including in my own experience anyone the family DID know.
Unless of course they were investigating one of the direct household unit. Not by any means suggesting this scenario, just falls outside of my personal horrible experience.

Which is absolutely why SMs immediate family is keeping silent .
Harder to control the mouths of extended family, but they would have definitely said don’t speak to the media to them all.

We are all so desperate for news and in a vacuum speculation runs wild, but as SA said by now they know the phone ping times and locations… and hopefully a whole crapload more than we do.

If it was a wireless camera, that could add a whole new angle (excuse the pun) to what we have seen so far.

It’s pretty common practice to bring in specialists from the big smoke… I think missing person detectives from Melbourne were involved pretty quickly anyway.
The only thing that I was surprised by,was the specialist teams they pulled from.
That could mean nothing, but it’s interesting nonetheless.

I'm going to post quite a few images. I can't put the pieces together, but perhaps it will help one of our sleuths.

There's the police chopper search patterns from day 1 onward.

Some maps of the mobile/cell towers and which ones which were surprisingly non-operative on the day.

And a few interesting things I noticed surrounding the property. There's an object which has been attached to the gate. It looks like a wireless doorbell camera, but I couldn't find anything that resembled it online. Perhaps someone can help identify what it is. If it was a wireless camera, that could add a whole new angle (excuse the pun) to what we have seen so far.

There's also a very attentive dog who was spooked by the google street view camera car. That's just a car, imagine how interested this dog would be in a human.

Not sure why the need for an electric fence. Perhaps the previous owners had cattle etc?

I also spotted another CCTV camera. I guess it didn't pick anything up or we would have heard about it.

edit: I'll have to post the other images separately as there's some technical problem uploading.

In one of the real estate pictures of the property near the old shed there is a horse and a huge hay bail. So maybe the electric fence was for the horse? Or maybe if they had a horse they had other animals like cattle.

It could be. In the real estate pictures it’s not an electric gate so I assume that has been put in since.

Also there is another little contraption that has come since the google pics. It’s from a DM picture.

I’d tend to go with its apart of the electric gate, maybe a sensor or something. That’s a guess though. IMO

That was an incredible spot! Eagle eyes .. it definitely looks like a camera .
I’ve been searching through endless articles, all repeating the same info ( in different phrasing) attempting to find where I saw the poo bag info first.
I am sure I read SM was pictured holding a bag of cat poo after cleaning out the kitty litter tray.

No luck as yet, but I am positive it was reported she cleaned up the poo from the cat tray and dumped it on her way out that morning.
Does anyone remember this?
There has been a lot of speculation it was dog poo , indicating to some , she may have been walking with her dog.
It’s a minute, potentially unimportant detail.. but it’s doing my head in.

I said this on the previous thread but IMO the 2nd camera as you put it to me is facing the street. I could be completely wrong but on google maps it looks like it is.

If it was I’ve wondered if it could give a clear view of anyone on the lane. There’s a few trees, some big and it’s up hill slightly, and what, maybe 20 meters or so away.

I spent quite a bit of time on the first device or whatever it is and couldn't find a match, which is strange.
Could it be a key safe? A wireless intercom or camera doorbell? Still couldn't find anything that matched it.
It's important because if someone can track the model or make, then we can ascertain whether it records footage constantly or only when someone presses a button.

edit: I could be wrong, but I don't think you could just walk up, press a button, and be granted access. I'm pretty sure someone would have asked 'who is it'?
