John Joey Mello was arrested on Thursday morning on Blake Street. He is charged with first-degree harassment and criminal conspiracy.

What's going on here? This case is crazy and I'm mindblown that it's not international news.

Anyhow, surely seems to be the case that Mello was doing his utmost to expose CP and her partner for what they were doing? Maybe he was sending the images out to other people as proof (ie the mother of the other child involved, CP's employers, school parents, etc)? That's just my speculation but wow if you found out that your ex was doing this to your child ... I can't imagine... fuses would be blowing.

Clearly ZH had become enmeshed in wanting to reveal this situation and maybe that's the 'research' ZH was over at the house doing when he ended up murdering CP, allegedly.

According to links published here and also news reports I've watched on youtube, there were many images and videos in which CP had participated and been present when at least two children, one being her own daughter, were being abused, taken over multiple years. Also videos of CP and her partner abusing dogs together.

IMO it seems that Mello and ZH were on a mission to liberate the daughter from this situation and gather evidence. Mello had the child overseas with him and was applying for her to gain permanent status at the time of the murder. JMO but seems possible that ZH went to the house to gather evidence as per the 'research' text and something went badly wrong. MOO

Yes, my understanding is LE did arrest him for possessing CP. Apparently it was mentioned during the press conference announcing Hughes' arrest. Link at beginning of thread, I haven't listened.

CP can be downloaded from the internet.

l haven't seen any charges for child abuse, which is what the rumours are about. However, who knows.

It’s a bit confusing.
Mello is charged with harassment and conspiracy with ZH. Nothing specifically with the murder.
He is charged with wanting to distribute nude photos of CP. Nothing about CSAM or wanting to rescue his daughter from that. Sounds like he wanted to destroy CP’s reputation in an attempt to get custody.
That’s my confusion. The speculation has always been that CP was killed because of her tie to her boyfriend’s p*o*r*n ring, and it somehow involved the daughter, by an avenging ZH and perhaps goaded on by Mello. But none of that is suggested with these charges.
The arrest does make it clear that Mello and ZH were working hand in hand.

Well there's been legal filings on behalf of the two children involved that would seem to indicate it's true, plus CP's partner was charged and is in prison on charges after the thumb drives, phone, and laptop was searched.

The bit that probably isn't true is that the body was staged with rose petals and laid out. Seems there was a ferocious bloody fight that is evidenced from one end of the house to the other and someone (not verified) pointed out it was more a case of tipped over floral displays than a ceremonial effort. JMO MOO

I think that is a mighty big leap in imagination to assume JM was aware of whatever was happening with Christine's boyfriend. I don't intend to cross that bridge unless LE takes me there.

IMO, there is an equally compelling narrative that the murder had nothing to do with CP.

Because if your child tells you something about this, you immediately contact authorities. You don't smuggle the child out of the country. Or, as we now learn, share nude photos of the mother. Or send a pianist to break into the home...that just undermines your own credibility for obtaining custody.

No, you contact authorities to interview the child.

This is all starting to look more like an ex-husband/boyfriend who hated his ex and wanted custody and was intentionally trying to smear her to get that custody. He had a willing accomplice with ZH.

I believe he may have been exploiting, or at least concealing his interests from the victim, CP. But then, I have a soft spot for people who work in a vet's.

I'm not awed by ZH's Julliard credentials. Some talent and years practising in a room by yourself, chasing the extremely unlikely possibility of a career, much less fame. But he's got it now.

I thought the first-degree charges producing child SA (BBM) were not just rumor per this link.

It only says that JM and ZH 'intended to' send pictures to various people and businesses.

I think this is building the case for the explanation of what happened - that they wanted ZH to break in the house, grab thumb drives, photos, laptops, so they had proof and then disseminate this proof to the relevant people. It was a work day morning at a time when CP would have been normally expected to have gone out to work.

JM had taken his child out of the country and was trying to get permission for her to permanently reside in Italy. Maybe he had no faith in the US systems and wanted to never return her after gaining evidence, or maybe he knew he wouldn't be believed and the couple would cover up any allegations, maybe he didn't trust US LE after the huge 'sex ring' scandal that had been in the exact same area, where the findings were that no-one had done anything wrong as everyone was over the age of 16? Maybe he thought this was all part of a wider thing and didn't feel safe to step foot back in the USA? Lots of possible reasons.

I can't imagine what it must be like finding out your child's mother has been doing this to her, so I've got a lot of room for possible reasons. JMO MOO only speculation

I agree that LE wouldn't likely charge someone if they were simply trying to get more information, as opposed to smearing or blackmailing someone. Did these poor kids have more than one group of abusers?

It has been stated in news reports that the couple were selling videos and images of various types of abuse for profit. IMO it's possible they were bringing other 'like minded people' in real time into whatever sickness was going on in that house.

ZH allegedly won't speak a word about any of it despite all the time he's been locked up already and I think it looks like JM 'activated him' into undertaking this job of gathering evidence at least, as JM himself was overseas with the child, obviously not wanting to bring her back. It doesn't surprise me JM has been charged with something as the courts would want him to speak as to what's been going on and what his and ZH's intentions were.

Do you have a source for this? I have seen the charges filed against the fiancé of the victim but nothing from any official source that says the mother was involved.
