WCNC Charlotte is in Cayce, SC today as the search continues for six-year-old Faye Swetlik. Law enforcement has the entrance blocked off to the Churchill Heights neighborhood. Faye was last seen playing in her front yard in this neighborhood around 3:45 p.m. Monday.
Wednesday morning, Cayce police updated the public with new video showing Faye getting off her school bus Monday afternoon, just minutes before her family said she was last seen.
The video also contains new pictures of Faye and the hotline for tips: 803-205-4444.
The investigation is currently focused on the neighborhood where Faye lives and the home she shares with her mother and grandmother on Londonderry Square.

Authorities said Tuesday there is no evidence Faye was abducted.

There are numerous rumors circulating among the community about the case but the information in this story is all that police have confirmed at this time.
Police wanted to stress Wednesday morning that people should not believe social media rumors about a body being found. The search for Faye is still active.
Cayce DPS Sgt. Evan Antley said at a news conference Wednesday that they're trying to stop some misinformation out there about the search for Faye Swetlik, and they're encouraging people to only trust information coming from officials.
"Rumors that false could potentially divert valuable resources that could bring the girl home," Antley said.
[…]
Investigators said Faye rode the bus home from school and got off near her home. Officers have released a new video taken from a bus surveillance camera of the moment when the little girl got off the vehicle. They're asking people to share that video out.
At this point, officers said they're still actively searching for the girl. The search area has been expanded out past the initial one-mile radius, and has now stretched almost to Interstate 26.
[…]
Antley said they have a systematic way of doing things and that's why bringing in volunteers would be counterproductive to collecting evidence.

If you were in Greenville in 2007 this #FayeSwetlik case resembles the case of missing 4yo Javeion Mayes in Greenville. @GvlPD found his body 2 days after his father reported him missing in a bag, in thick kudzu near the home he vanished.
this one ends differently.

There have been a lot of questions regarding why an AMBER Alert has not been issued in the disappearance of Faye Swetlik and this case so far does not meet the federally mandated guidelines.

For an AMBER Alert to be issued, law enforcement should have evidence that an abduction has occurred and have enough information to share which would aid in the recovery of a child.

Across the street is not quite accurate. Team Cars is across Airport Blvd, the main road outside the neighborhood. Maybe no camera there but there is a Sunoco just down the road. Sunoco down the road
Posting an overhead image of the area. FS's house is marked with an F. Notice how close the dirt lot with construction equipment is to the backyard, maybe 130 feet. The NAPA warehouse lot is also very close.
Authorities confirmed Wednesday morning that their search area has been expanded while this very active investigation continues. Originally, officials were concentrating on a 1-mile radius around the home. Now that area has been expanded to include other neighborhoods and areas near the interstate.
At this time, no public searches are being organized by law enforcement. Officials say they have a substantial number of well-trained investigators and searchers to cover the area involved in their grid searches.
Officials confirm they will be holding daily press conferences at 11:45 a.m. while the investigation continues.
DEVELOPING: At least 10 Law Enforcement vehicles just entered the neighborhood of MISSING 6-year-old Faye Swetlik. Stay tuned into @WLTX for more details. #FayeSwetlik
