If law enforcement towed a vehicle, then they likely believe it related to a a crime. I think they know what they’re dealing with, and are looking closely at someone.
Around the 17:50 mark, the reporter says that police confirmed that the car was being looked at as part of the investigation. MOO

I really ticks me off when they offer basically no new info in their statement and then severely limit the number of questions reporters can ask.

Summary of Presser:

"We've called you here to today to tell you we have nothing new to tell you, and even if we did, we still wouldn't tell you.

Now, we have time to take a few questions that we're not going to answer."

I’m more convinced than ever that they have a solid grasp on things. That’s not necessarily a good thing, as it doesn’t bode well for Faye.

Two cars near the home of missing 6 yr old Faye Swetlik just towed away. About 10-20 officers and investigators going door to door of neighboring homes as it happened. @wis10

If you look at the photos posted in the video where the reporters talk about the cars being towed, there's a red car that looks like the towed car parked in front of her house.

"We're not ruling anything out," police chief says as search for Faye Swetlik continues in SC, but no indications of abduction at this time
[...]

Snellgrove said the child loves dresses, fancy shoes, spending time with family, cats, and playing outside.

Snellgrove said the child's family has been cooperative. He said the mother, her boyfriend, and Faye's father are all anxiously awaiting her return.

As of Tuesday afternoon, police have not ruled out anything, including that Faye may have wandered off.

"It's possible she may be in the woods or at a neighbor's house, fallen in distress," Snellgrove said.

So if they don’t think that it is an abduction, what are the other possibilities that could include 2 cars being towed?
That they know who is responsible, and don’t want to tip their hand right now.

They may want to hold off the circus, while they investigate.

UPDATE: Officials discuss latest in search for missing 6-year-old Faye Swetlik
[...]

Snelgrove reiterated the importance of Churchill Heights residents turning in any home surveillance footage between 2 to 5 p.m. Monday. “It could be key with us proceeding with this case,” he said. Faye and her mother live on Londonberry Square within the Churchill Heights neighborhood in Cayce.

The tip line specifically for Faye’s case is 803-205-4444. The phone line became available for tips at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Snelgrove said they have received about 75 leads through the tip line, thus far.

“We’ve found some surveillance footage that has helped us, and we’re also going to follow every lead that we get,” he said.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are involved in the investigation, including SLED and the FBI. Residents of the neighborhood have had their houses and vehicles searched. Snelgrove said they have not ruled out the possibility that Faye may have “wandered off” from her yard, where she was last seen playing around 3:45 p.m. Monday. ...

Police in South Carolina are searching for a 6-year-old girl who went missing Monday afternoon after returning home from school.

Faye Marie Swetlik was reported missing by her family after she disappeared from her Cayce home’s front yard. Authorities initially reported that Faye never made it home after getting off of her school bus, but during an early-morning press conference Tuesday, Lexington County Sheriff’s Department officials said the 6-year-old had returned home “like any other day.”

It was while she played in her home’s front yard that her family realized she’d gone missing.

At the press conference Tuesday, county officials said there was no news yet as to the child’s whereabouts.

“Anything is possible,” one official said.
