There's 8 missing persons in my county, and we have 800,000 residents compared to about 260,000 for MB. 3 of them are children taken by their non-custodial parent. The earliest case they have listed is 1996. I'm not sure if that means there is no unsolved missing person case earlier than that or if there's just not including them.

I wonder if LE got upset that rank amateurs found remains & they couldn't? I know it's a broad expanse of area to search w/limited funds. Still it makes you wonder how much effort is really being put into this where every single missing person is someones child.:twocents:
Bring Heather home!

... I went to sleep last night wondering what evidence was withheld....wonder if joe public will ever know... Somebody find Heather!!!

Interesting read on the backlash that can occur in a community when mounting missing/murdered investigations go unsolved. Trust in those sworn to provide public safety for the community is diminished, rumors emerge, speculation runs rampant.

Those familiar with the ULL Anthropology Student Mickey Shunick abduction(LA-2012) are well versed of Baton Rouge, LA serial killer Dexter Todd Lee. When certain cases could not be linked to Lee, investigators began to wonder if another serial killer had been in operation at the same time. A DTL copycat; Sean Vincent Gillis was then linked to a half dozen other murders in the area.
Fastforward>
Mickey Shunick's abductor; serial killer Brandon Scott Lavergne was apprehended by the well trained Lafayette PD quickly, due to a proactive investigation which utilized all available resources and the tremendous community awareness provide by her family and friends via internet/SM & local/national MSM..

.....and not one solved... ????

I'm a little late to this story but there are a few details that stand out to me. I read every tweet on the public Twitter account of HE. I looked at her other public social media and those of some of the key associates. I take note of the list someone put up last night (here at WS) showing the common links between HE and Amber, the 23 year old murder victim. Here are the subjects and a brief description...

One evening/night she heard shots fired in her neighborhood

One day when she was checking her mail some "random guy" said something provocative and/or a proposition and her thought was , "Uhm, no!"

At a recent trip to the doc, he asked her why she lost five lbs. She expresses a dislike for this doc and how he does something to p!ss her of every time "every month."

When she first started her 2nd job, she mentions that she had to take two pharmaceuticals to make sure she stayed awake.

Obviously, she came in very late from work and from going out. Makes me wonder if someone was watching her.

In another tweet, she mentions how she googled #TiltKilt and was weirded out by how many tourists had posted pictures of her.

I also found the list of common links with Amber B, the 23 yo murdered, girl quite interesting. As to the "Bobo's House," link...I found two with that name. One was two women with a cleaning service and the other is a site that seems similar to Pinterest and it categorizes things people want to tag or put on a wish list, of sorts...didn't get very far with that.

I did not get the feeling that she was abusing substances, with the exception of alcohol, but I did see a few references to pot and to getting it. BUT, it was not an overwhelming theme.

Just some thoughts, but the fact that her roommate comes from an area in NJ, where the four women were murdered also caught my attention! Could the girls have unwittingly allowed some creep from AC into their circle down in MB?

I remember that case because my sister lived somewhat nearby and it frightened her. Those were the girls all placed facing east. Some tried to link this case with the LISK case. (Long Island serial killer). Both cases unresolved.

If the case isn't solved, I can see the Elvis family trying untraditional methods for justice. Like what Desiree Young is doing, with the lawsuit against Terri Horman.

Just trying to do my part. She was originally listed right on front when I did a search for Heather at http://www.missingin.org/directory.php
When I saw a tweet about Heather before RT I check to see if valid b4 RT.As of right now Heather STILL isn't listed there! :banghead:

Clu, how would it work-family now organizing searches? Would volunteers be concerned about volunteering now after what happened to BB and GS?

Its a good point but one thing for sure is if I was in that situation I would definitely organize private volunteer search groups and look for her in those areas near the gravel pits, holding ponds, small creeks etc near the landing.

I would of course try to be sure to do things with LE blessing and make sure it is organized properly but I would let nothing stop me. If they said they would not recommend it, then I would just make sure I follow the letter of the law and make sure to get permission in writing from any business or landowner for any private land searched.

Just searching. No asking questions of potential witnesses or any of that business. Just searching for her. As far as I know, there should be no law that prevents that as it is similar to hiking and nobody should be able to stop people from looking for her if they want to. With permission from landowners of course which limits where we could look.

I would try to have weekly saturday searches at a minimum for as long as i was able. If the numbers dwindled down, I would go myself with just a few friends and family members.

And for that matter, I would probably end up buying my own search dog. Preferably trained in advance.

Yes, Angie Pipkin was within one month of HE. Nothing really discussed re: a link between AP & HE, correct? AP is 32 but HE liked older men. So, maybe they came across the same guy?

AND!!! She is from Aynor...the same as the missing young man.

Here's what concerns me:
In the space of one month, two young women are missing (AP age 32 Aynor and HE 20 of South Myrtle beach), another, AMB, is murdered (North MB) and a young man is missing for five months from Aynor). All of them within a half hours drive of the others.

IMO, there is a link and it will be uncovered.

Now this is interesting, since last night someone posted that Amber B, the murdered 23 yo, also went to the HGTC.

"Angela Pipkin went to Aynor High School and attended Horry-Georgetown Technical College" http://www.myhorrynews.com/news/crime/article_6cbe8460-89c7-11e3-b055-001a4bcf6878.html

.....and not one solved... ????

Actually, a few of those on that list have had some manner of resolution. Kynande Bennett's mother has been in prison for awhile now regarding her disappearance. Shakeima Cabbagestalk's stepfather was charged and incarcerated for her kidnapping, but best I can recall, not her murder - and I'm pretty sure he's out now. Lisa Neugent's boyfriend is, I believe, largely thought to be at fault for her disappearance. Andrea Hayslette's husband was charged with her murder at one point, then the charges dropped.

I am basing all this strictly on memory, so I could be mistaken about some of the details. So, while these people have never been found, that does not necessarily mean there has been nothing known on their cases.

Also O/T, but I sure wish we'd get info on the bones found early on in the Heather search.

BBM. Amber was killed back in May. The fact that there appears to be no kind of clues or suspects in her murder is very disturbing. It was a bright beautiful day and that area is not exactly remote.

I'd like to revisit TE driving the car home from PTL. I may regret this :)
I believe he was not immediately alarmed (please do not send links to convince me otherwise I know he has said he was, and has said things that one could conclude he was but I also consider the fact that maybe people have reasons for portraying things slightly different than they really were when those things will be printed and on the internet for all eternity) anyway;

I believe that TE was not immediately frantic, overly worried and this contributed to his decision to drive HE's car from PTL. I do not think he wore gloves despite what some may or may not have said.
I'd like to hear from those who think he was immediately worried/frantic, why you think he drove the car away from PTL. Especially if you think he wore gloves to drive the car home.

This makes zero sense to me because if I felt I needed to wear gloves to preserve potential evidence or worse yet, if LE suggests I wear gloves to preserve potential evidence that's when I'd dig my heels in and insist it be processed right there, or I'd leave and let them tow it if they wouldn't bring in someone to process it,
But I have an open mind and would like to consider other possibilities. Can't wrap my head around this unless he wasn't immediately alarmed and/or HE had maybe left her car places before. I know a lot of us here think he was immediately worried about HE so how do his actions fit this scenerio?
The gloves blow my mind (because that is an acknowledgement that something may be very wrong) and I'm wondering if that part was true or not.

I am not at all convinced about the gloves. I never saw it in media, only on one post here and I questioned it at the time as sounding bizarre. But I cannot quite imagine how he would not have been alarmed right then and there, unless Heather was flakier than he suggests and liable to leave her car any old place. I don't know about that, but I am beginning to think that her life was not an open book to her family, that they did not know as much as they thought they did.

I also found it strange that he said she was never out of touch for even 24 hours, yet it was nearly 48 hours until car was found from when she last texted him, and this apparently caused no concern...to anybody? Friends ,roommate, date, sister, etc...no one tried to reach her from Wed. morning until Thursday night? And found it odd that she was unreachable?

Hard to believe that LE let him move the car once they could not locate HE.

It's puzzling.
TE stated the officer at his door was a friend. Maybe this played into things in some way?
I would think it would be the opposite and in taking extra precautions LE would have it processed just in case.
