BBM Good question. I can't help but wonder if cases involving homicide aren't given a priority since they involve upcoming trial dates. It seems that non-homicide cases are pushed to the back and this one involves someone killed in an auto accident. MOO.

Astounded it's taking so long.

We have a current case in the UK (Susan McLean, an American missing in Scotland) where a Websleuths member has done an AMAZING "on the ground" search, which originated when her dog came out of some woods near where Susan went missing, the dog was covered in fresh blood. It took 2 or 3 DAYS for DNA to be processed.

Fascinating case, still unsolved and very much hands on since Susan's friend has flown over to join the search (and signed up to WS in the process!), but it begs the question - if Scotland can do it in 2 days what on earth is taking soooooo long on this case. It is actually ridiculous....

I'm not sure that UNT takes cases like that, they process as it comes in. It is the job of the ME to make the match call. Tammy Alexander took 4 months. There is another case that took 3 months KY - Shively - WhtFem 530UFKY, 20-40, Distinctive Narrow Nose, Jul'05. Seems like it was processed then went for comparison. Really do not understand what's going on. My opinion has been that the ME has the comparison since Tammy's memorial service, June 10th. I don't know why it wasn't called on GDF's 20th anniversary June 26. Here we are now August 19th, still no word; both NamUs profiles are still online, yet Jason has not been added to GDF's rule out list. *Note, going to add this to a few threads...

Both Namus profiles read Sample Submitted - Tests complete. What would be cause for the hold up if both have dna?

Maybe I am naive, but it seems to me if tests were complete and they were a match to Grateful doe they would have a match and Jason would not be listed with samples complete. As there would be no point to list him anymore. So does them mean it was not a match?

Jason isn't on Grateful Does exclusion list as of today. Let's not give up hope yet!
