Also possibly missing from Myrtle Beach www.doenetwork.org/cases/1953dmmd.html Scott Devoe DeFelice. His truck was found in front of a motel in Myrtle Beach a few miles from where the remains where found.

Alvin Owens, though he may be too old www.doenetwork.org/cases/1154dmsc.html

Another, Brian Neal Hooks was known to frequent Myrtle Beach www.doenetwork.org/cases/803dmsc.html

Woodrow Taylor is missing from Horry County (Conway) since 1997 www.doenetwork.org/cases/4366dmsc.html

Thanx for sharing, Sleuther...

We really need to know how long those remains were estimated to be there. I thought I had read that they were probably four to five years old, hence the thought that it could be Brittanee.

The only one so far that sits right in that time frame is Glenn Howlett.

However, Myrtle Beach does appear to be the kind of place that someone might just take off to on a whim if they wanted to get away for a while. It could be someone with no obvious ties to the area.

"Body Watch" how do you cope?

COPING WITH LOSS OR MISSING

"Body watch" is it a taboo subject? Almost all families of the missing go through it. I did. And, now I sit this watch with other families of the missing. But why does it seem to be so hush-hush?

Some families I know don't want to know when body watch is taking place and that is their prerogative so we don't hear from them too much. Others very much want to be a part of it and that is also their prerogative yet they don't seem to talk about what they went through on body watch.

Many aspects of what the families of the missing face are rarely discussed in public, but body watch seems to be the least talked about even though it is what is on the minds of all families every time a body or bones are found anywhere.

brandon graves, 24 is missing since 2010

he was last seen in sumter, sc getting into a white car. he lived in myrtle beach and to get to myrtle from sumter it was be easiest to go 378 east which turns into 501 as you get near myrtle beach. at least judging by the map.

ETA: he was only 5'4" saw that would have made it harder when they found the skeleton to decide if male/female.

This is so sad FoxFire........
It should have its own thread for those that need each other.
I know a couple families tha have gone through this.............:(

Ok, so these remains are an adult male. I did a search on adult males who went missing in Myrtle Beach.

I found only three of them on Namus.

Todd Massie went missing in 1992, so probably too long ago to be this UID. Also, although he was last seen locally, the circumstances suggest he may have left or been taken from the Myrtle Beach area. https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/278/2/

Johnny Brown went missing in 2012 so probably not long enough ago to be this UID. https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/17025/0/

Glenn Howlett seems the best bet. Missing since June 2009. https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/10577/1/ More information about the circumstances of his disappearance on the Brittanee Drexel site (bottom of the page) http://helpfindbrittaneedrexel.com/cold-cases-missing-on-the-grand-strand/

BBM

This is who I feel it might be. And, even though LE probably already knew about him, I e-mailed them his NamUs page.

If there are coyotes or feral dogs, they could have dragged fairly large parts some distance if they reached the body before it had been lying too long.

Or heavy rains could have washed bones downhill. If that happened, they might collect in the same spot.

Ugh. I wanted this to be Britanee Drexel soo badly. Poor dear needs to come home.

It seems weird that he was so close to the train tracks yet no one saw him. Then again people probably aren't looking for bodies.

If you look at the search photos Foxfire posted on HE's thread yesterday (around page 10, I think?), you can see that the area is rougher than it looks on the map and rather wooded and tangled.

It looks like the kind of area where maybe homeless people like to camp. I'm guessing it's somebody who died of a heart attack or hypothermia or something like that. But that's not based on much evidence.

23 year old Kareem Jamaal Ward went missing Father’s Day on June 17, 2007

Nearly 7 years later, Myrtle Beach-area family still hoping for news of missing son

The officer told Ann Warren and her daughter, Sharhonda Warren, that Ward’s car had been pulled from the Pee Dee River after it was found submerged at a boat landing off Gunters Lake Road in the Galivants Ferry area.Police told the family that some recently installed audio sound equipment had been stripped from the car before it was submerged, Sharhonda Warren said. Her brother’s cellphone was in the car, but the SIM card was missing and there was no trace of Ward.
