Via Court Officials - A male voice made the anonymous call to the Colleton County Courthouse, saying there was a bomb in the Judge’s chambers. He quickly hung up afterward. We now know this was a hoax, but context why court was evacuated today.

No I honestly can't say I have. I wonder if someone didn't call that threat in as a 'favor' to AM?

MOO
Way behind, I had a Dr. appointment to go to. It was strange that Buster was sitting on the end this morning, then after a break he was back in his regular place. Then we they got a bomb threat. I do not put anything past this lot.

It’s been testified to that AM went to his parents house that night to check on mom. He calls the caregiver to let him in. Does he not have a key?
I believe announcing himself for both the evening as well as the early morning hour was due to home security. (This was the private residence of the former longtime Solicitor). MOO

The sudden announcement in the televised trial brought heightened drama to the court proceedings against Murdaugh, a once-powerful South Carolina lawyer and the scion of a well-connected legal family who stands accused of murdering his wife and son in 2021. Murdaugh was walked out of a back door, while members of his family, who have been sitting in rows behind the defense table, were quickly escorted out.

"Alex was taken by the police, but they grabbed the family and rushed them out ahead of us," said Marty Yates, a spectator in the courtroom. "And then we all evacuated the building and have scattered around."

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said that Colleton County Courthouse personnel received the threat, and that the agency is investigating along with the Colleton County Sheriff's Office. Police dogs were brought in to help sweep the courthouse, and court staff and attorneys were allowed back in around 2:30 p.m. after the building was cleared.

Court personnel have not identified the caller, but said it was a male-sounding voice.

Bomb threat cleared after temporarily halting Alex Murdaugh trial and evacuating courthouse

I went to the grocery store and felt new to this case when I got back.

IMO he will be tried again if there is mistrial. If intimidation is the goal, it's either toward the jury to bring back a not guilty verdict or toward the judge to step down so another judge more AM 'friendly' could be appointed. jmo
I feel this was a threat to the judge. A message, in other words. I don't think this judge is going to be intimidated. JMO

Don't know who he is trying to fool by holding his jacket over the handcuffs? Everyone knows he's in custody. Considering the litany of charges he's been accused of I find it pretty funny that he draws the line at being seen or photographed in handcuffs. It's not like he has one shred of dignity left in his entire body at this point. What's the point?
