The idea of a "golf cart drive-by" is intriguing and disturbing at once. I do think he was probably in the cart killing PM while saying out loud that he was not shooting PM intentionally just so he could testify to it.
Think he just rolled in on the cart good ole dad and spent a moment with them then made the move. They never really had a chance due to knowing the killer.

This cell phone data is a zillion times more precise and accurate than any time of death calculated by body temperature. Even if they used a thermometer, they couldn't tell you within less than an hour what the time of death was. This phone data tells us within less than a minute when they died.
Even if let's say they put their phones up and were not talking/testing/looking at texts/reading something/walking around.. the longer they stay silent the more likely they are dead. That is how I see it. I think a few minutes after the last cell activity is till possible they are alive and have their phones up, but the longer that goes on the likelihood they are dead increases.. we have Alex at the property for 15+ minutes afer that last activity. He saw and heard nothing. I think we don't need the exact moment, but the fact there is so much time after the last activity leaves no doubt he was present when it happened and then SLED learns he lied about that.

He also must have missed out on a trial attorney conference where they explained the latest technology in cell phone and vehicle GPS tracking.

Speaking of the latest technology -- I just found that only my latest iPhone (about 3 yrs old) screen lights up when the phone is picked up but my older iPhones will not light up under any condition unless the home button is pressed.

I guess we should listen to The Marshall Tucker Band (Spartanburg SC n' all) ?

Note: This music reference does not indicate my approximate age in any way ;)

Let's have a mix tape (Edvis, surely you can prioritize this for the bus).

Hootie and the Blowfish; James Brown (well, maybe not, given that we're a true crime bus), Chris Potter (we need more saxophone), Etta Jones (didn't realize she hailed from SC), and Blind Willie Walker.

They may be right. It's possibly a case of locals knowing it can be a problem if you go against the local powers that be. It's just not done, at least not without facing some consequences.
I don’t know. It feels like that dynasty has been demolished. Alex has lost his power and become, IMO, a pariah.

I would hope being exposed by all these transgressions would have destroyed any remaining power.

I'm not a golf cart expert but I think it would be cumbersome to move back and forth and turn around in a cart. Seems easier to do it on your feet -- to maneuver and change direction as needed. JMO.
I think taking the first shots from the golf cart would increase the element of surprise. If the shotgun was on the golf cart, he could access it without walking around with it. I can't visualize it all without seeing where it was, where he was and so on, but it seems Paul was taken by surprise so that would definitely be one way. I think he had to get off the golf cart at some point, but he could get the first shot of before Paul realized what was going on.
