This podcast is the one that has the former AG on it. He said in SC the judge can give a jury instruction that the hand of one is the hand of all (re: multiple shooters).

I really wish the charge conference would have been streamed because I would have loved to see if this was discussed.

We don't know since she wasn't called.

Image here of Marian on her way out stopping to hug Buster, Randy & John to left of BM, Lynn seated on right. First thing I noticed was Marian’s left hand is fisted not open.
RM & JM have pleasant looks but I don’t see that on Lynn’s face or Marian’s.

I watched the Netflix series last night and I'm gonna be an optimist. The decent people of that area are sick of this. It's one thing when the "rich" (or acting rich, in this case) get out of parking tickets or always manage to get a table in their favorite restaurant. It's a whole other thing when they're getting away with murder and have a string of shady "accidents" hooked up to their names. The number of folks calling in anonymous tips on the Smith case, the way the families of the kids on the boat spoke...it was like when you hear about a kidnapping victim waiting for that one moment when the kidnapper falls asleep so they can break free. I want to believe the jury is going to find him guilty because they know this could be that one moment that they can get out from under this family's control. I'm hopeful that the fear of this family ever getting the chance to retaliate has dissipated somewhat, now that they know everyone will have their eyes on this criminal gang.
Im hoping the only reason the jury finds him guilty is because they believe beyond a reasonable doubt he is in fact guilty. And I agree, I feel everything that has happened will hopefully remove the power this family holds over the community. I’ve yet to hear anything really positive or encouraging about one family member who shares that name.

First thing up this morning is the jury trip to Moselle. We won’t be able to cover that due to the court’s restriction on media access. Court will resume around 11. We’ll have jury charges and closing arguments. Deliberations could begin as early as this afternoon.

Not sure Randy would have helped Alex, also he’ll probably be there in the financial crimes trial.

In the elder Murdaugh's suit, it is alleged that prior to Sept. 2, 2021, Alex indicated to his brother that needed a loan to cover an overdrawn bank account and that he had already written other checks, including checks to workers, which would make the account more overdrawn. The "Defendant did not disclose that he was in poor financial condition," the suit says.

The Murdaugh suit also states that Randy loaned $75,000 to his younger brother, under the condition that the loan be repaid within 30 days, but the defendant has not repaid the loan. The suit also alleges that Randy later paid the initial fee of $15,000 to enter Alex into a drug treatment facility in Orange County, Florida.

What is their perspective? If they think the state hasn't proved their case, have they watched every moment of the trial like many here have?

A little bit of column A, a little bit of column B. One claims he just watched the trial when AM testified and read about the trial (he seems to think they did a great job of building him up as deceitful and a thief but isn't sold on him being the murderer), another seems informed solely by the Netflix doc. I'm sure they haven't watched every moment of the trial. I just don't really discuss these things outside of the true crime/WS bubble so it's interesting to hear other people's opinions who haven't spent a year plus following this case.

Alex got into drug business with Barrett and then tricked him when he was diagnosed with cancer ? - told him to sign without reading because Alex is a lawyer who cares about him and would not steer him wrong?

There's still the question of how lawyer/ solicitor Alex first met drug-dealer Barrett ... real estate and money laundering together from 2011 until 2018. After Barrett died in 2018, what did Alex do to cover their shared money-laundering real estate debt?

There has to be some instance that triggered Murdaugh to take ownership of Moselle. How did he do that?
I remember reading all about this before the trial started. I didn't know all the details. I knew he swindled Moselle from someone.

‘Says it all’: experts react to Buster Murdaugh’s facepalm during father’s testimony in double murder trial

Perhaps the bigger question remains how jurors likely reacted to the sight of the defendant’s surviving son burying his head.

“From the photos I’ve seen of Buster Murdaugh in the courtroom with his face down in his palms, that couldn’t possibly be good for the jury,” Los Angeles-based criminal defense attorney Matthew Barhoma said. “If the jury is perceiving that Alex Murdaugh’s own son has his face in his hands, it seems like he doesn’t believe Alex’s testimony, so why should they? Ultimately, it’s not a good look and confirms exactly what the issue was with Alex Murdaugh taking the stand, to begin with – that he would look not of sound or competent mind, or at least would seem to be advancing what could very likely be, lies. His emotions are all over the place. We’ve seen him cry and sob, we’ve seen him laugh, tears and snot and all. It can’t possibly look good to a jury, and I can’t imagine this was a good courtroom setting.”

I don't think they are being given very much time, considering all of the things the judge expects to happen in one day.

They don't start the closing arguments until after the field trip, and probably after lunch break, and then when closings are done judge plans to give juror instructions and send them to deliberations.

How much time is he giving them for each side? Is there even time for rebuttal?
BBM
I understand he wouldn't put a time limit on closing arguments.

Feel free to have some leisure time around the lounge car until we take off this morning for court…. Choo - Choo!

Beware of wild chicken! ;)
Yes indeed and we offer a 5 star breakfast to soke up some of those spirits that didn't settle well during night lol. For those up for a trip out to the ranch for a looksee the peace, love and groovy bus will be pulling up to escort you off the train and onto the bus, no worries the bus is stocked as well and the chicken called shotgun seat already. Plenty to do as the jurors look over the kill site sad to say but feel free to mingle around the pine trees with your drinks.

For being as “emotional” as the claims make of him to be, he hasn’t sobbed. For someone who isn’t guilty, is seeing the photos and hearing the details I would think there would be more obvious grief.

He knows when the cameras are on him. He does his little gig for the cameras but it’s phony.
