I've just finished reading all the news from 11/23. It's been a "you snooze, you lose" sort of day! I found this bit from today's TES motion.

One of the volunteers, Laura Buchanan, of New Jersey, submitted a sworn statement that may provide ammunition for Casey Anthony's defense.

In the statement, Buchanan wrote:

"On Sept. 3, 2008 … I personally searched near the privacy fence and worked my way towards, and then the spot, where the body was found.

I did not notice anything unusual. I did not notice a strange smell. I noticed no buzzards, nor unusual animal or insect activity.
It is my opinion that the remains of Caylee Anthony were not there during the time of our search."

There were a few things that bothered me about this statement (BBM).

First of all, by September 3, the body would have been completely skeletonized and there would be no buzzards or animal activity at that point.

As for the "unusual insect activity," again, there wouldn't be large hoards of blowflys in the area.

Finally, in early September, there was standing water in the area where the plastic bags were eventually found, as well as the remains. This searcher mentions nothing about wearing hip-waders to get through the water!

TM refused to go into any of the water-filled areas for fear of pushing the fragile remains down into the mud.

Most of the tiny bones found by LE in December were totally hidden by the dense undergrowth. This person might have found a recently deceased person, complete with buzzards and blowflys, not skeletal remains.
BBM.

Laura (from New Jersey) "personally searched the area in September ? As in not with TES or a group...how convenient is that ?

In September the area was flooded and this "Laura" (and any other witnesses Jose digs up) are not going to be able to refute the pics showing the water and the testimony of Tim M and other TES searchers who were there.

OK, so the defense is saying this Laura was with TES ? Well if she really was they should have her sign up paper work...my bet is they don't, because she wasn't with TES.

And in her statement she was not only at the area of the privacy fence on Suburban, but worked her way to the exact spot where Caylee was found ? Wow, and she is just coming forward now ? All of these new defense witnesses are a little late in their reporting. I guess Laura from NJ also called the OCSO right after the remains were found in December to alert them of her search of the area ?

I'm up too late to be able to decipher this information I found, so I thought I'd just post the links and hope that someone else can summarize it all:

Here's a map showing the amount of rain left by Hurricane Fay:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Fay2008filledrainblk.gif

The map is from this article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropical_Storm_Fay_(2008)

Here's the (unofficial) weather history for Orlando for August 24 - September 07:
http://www.wunderground.com/history...ty=Orlando&req_state=FL&req_statename=Florida

Wunderground.com is a fairly reliable site, imo, but it only allows you to see two weeks of weather history at a time, so if you want to look at other dates, click on the "Trip Planner" link, or click here:

For those of you that are "visual" learners like I am, here are some pics taken by a local photographer of TS Fay's flooding. No, these are NOT of the Suburban location, but rather a Central Florida neighborhood. They show the extent of some of the flooding, which was pretty widespread. It wasn't just a few inches of rain, it was several. I'm hoping that some of the neighbors might have pictures like this of the actual Suburban site to back up Tim Miller's reports of the site being unsearchable because it was literally under water.

I posted this in a discussion of the motion on the JW thread. I've edited it down based on the fact you all posted this information already! At least in her interview with Allen at the site, she admitted there was water there and she was afraid of coral snakes.

There is no mention of standing water, hip-waders, etc. Authorized searchers would not have gone into the water. TM pointed out the problems with that when he called off the search.

Also, if TES did not search the wet areas and these people were not at the site with TES, how in the world would TM even have records of it.

Short work for MN, IMHO.

I'm curious about Ms. Buchanan. TM said not to search in those areas for fear of ruining any chance of damaging any remains that may be underwater. So why did she search there? How did she know to search in that exact spot? How could she remember the exact areas that she searched? What was she doing the day Caylee disappeared? just sayin....

It appears that the defense is trying to use the statements of two individuals to show that TES was not compliant with the order to provide info of all TES volunteers that searched the area. TES supplied the requested info for 32 searchers, and the defense claims that these two were not listed with the 32. The defense is arguing that since TES was not completely compliant, that info from each and every volunteer should be given to the defense.

But by her own testimony( http://www.wftv.com/pdf/21703813/detail.html ), Laura B admits that "4. We were not officially assigned to search that area. We went on our own."

TES had no control over that and should not be held responsible for LB's actions, rendering useless the submission of Laura B's statement by the defense.

(My own uneducated opinion of course  )

Because they were not listed as official searchers with TES. There is no proof they searched that area. Do they have footage of their own search? Photos? NOPE. END OF STORY. LIARS. IMO

I agree. Maybe she should be investigated. I have a question - how does all this prove KC was framed? Because the body was close to her home? My point is - unlike the Scot Peterson case - Casey was not seen in this area or connected to this area - so why would someone trying to FRAME her dump the body there in the midst of all the searching and risk being caught?

Why not leave the body in her car? teehee.:innocent:

AND.... who hangs on to the body for awhile and then dumps it in the woods right near where so many REPORTERS AND PROTESTERS AND SEARCHERS WHERE HANGING OUT AT THE TIME? who would take that chance?

Anyone think there is any possibility one of the A's (besides kc) could have done the disposal after the car was picked up from the tow yard? IIRC, LE did not take possesion of the car right away, I think it was like 24 hrs later

I think the prosecution will be able to document that the exact area was under water until just prior to Caylee being found.

Have not read the whole thread and this may have been mentioned already, not only was the site under water in September but searcher were looking for an intact body. Some of her remains had been scattered before the rains and were under debris. Someone placing the body there just does not fit with what the evidence in the reports indicate.

It is, however, very interesting to see how many people actually did search that area because KC said Caylee was close.

Like GA? Looking in the car seeing the body and then tossing it in the woods on his way home with the car? NAH --- :innocent:

I was at Fort Wilderness last year in September. The area in back of the cabins was flooded still by September. I was there again this year in September and there was no standing water. Orlando had a lot of water still around in September so an area where Caylee's remains were found that is reported by neighbors to normally have standing water this time of the year would have had even more so last year because of the hurricane. Unless searchers were wearing hip boots they would not have found her. This will be a no brainer for the jury, facts don't lie.

No I don't, because if IIRC GA had the tow yard guy look in the trunk with him because he was affraid of what might be in there.
I also don't believe anyone else but KC dumped Caylee where she was found. IMO when Caylee was dumped there she was already well on her way to total decomp (the reeking stench in the car).

I just went to the wftv page to re-listen to ANDY LYONS AUDIO TAPES.....

BOTH TAPES VANISHED?!....BILL SCAEFFER VIDEO GONE?!....WFTV page regarding " Lyon calls Jurors "killers" "---GONE!....WTF???? Am I losing it?

And obviously if defense insists on using these people as witnesses the jury will be forced to listen in great detail the stages of decomp. and how it would be almost impossible to move a decomposing body from one area to another. In fact, maybe that is why KC had to take a shower that day at RG's. He may not have been able to smell it but it is possible it was all KC could smell. That smell gets into your nose and you would literally have to wash it out. She may have been cleaning the trunk or she may have paid a visit to the site. JMO

Just a little reminder here...IMO, Buchanan's statement was most likely drafted by the defense team and she simply signed it. Of course, they aren't going to put in any specifics that could easily be refuted. Its general and vague for a reason, and their entire strategy is one of creating reasonable doubt. That's all they have going for them. And with all the water, flooding etc. in that area and the amount of time Caylee's body was exposed to the elements, there is no way to tell exactly where the body was originally placed. For example, what if Casey did originally bury the body, then it was unearthed, displaced, and/or relocated due to the flooding waters? While the plant growth certainly can indicate a reliable time frame for where the body was ultimately found, I don't think they can establish that's the exact spot it was initially placed. And if the body wasn't initially buried, even more 'natural' movement may have occurred.

UPDATED: Equusearch Lied, Casey’s Lawyers Claim

<snipped>
In a motion just filed with the clerk's office, Jose Baez and Casey's defense team accused Tim Miller and his Texas Equusearch group of lying to the court.

The defense says they've found more people in the course of their own investigation ..

And as a result, they want the judge to order Equusearch to turn over all records relating to their search for Caylee Anthony.

Thank you! I had been looking for that information for quite a while. Interesting... (the remains site was prone to flood).... that there was no standing water there in June (when disposal took place) since it rained virtually everyday.

June 2008:

http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KMCO/2008/6/24/MonthlyHistory.html#calendar

yet there was standing water when Kronk was there August 11 (after little rain). TS Faye did not go through till later. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/weather/hurricane/sfl-hurricane-fay,0,6225324.story.

This is the July 2008 calendar:

August 2008- there appears to be very few rainy days during the first part of this month:
