Savannah Couple Plead Guilty ToStealing Over $150,000 From The Army

<snipped>
Evidence presented at the guilty plea hearing showed that BO DUKES, a Unit Supply Specialist in the United States Army, ordered televisions, cameras, power tools, cooper wires and other property totaling over $150,000, which he was able to fraudulently bill to the Army through the General Services Administration (GSA). BO DUKES caused the fraudulently obtained items to be shipped to his personal residence. He and his wife EMILY DUKES then pawned the items for their own personal benefit.

United States Attorney Edward J. Tarver said, “These Defendants used Bo Dukes position of trust and his authorization to enter into transactions on behalf of the United States Government to steal from the American taxpayers. Their plan was both unsophisticated and hazardous. Neither the law nor this United States Attorney’s Office can allow this type of fraud to go unpunished.”

I am really disturbed that they burnt the body - what evidence were they destroying. If anyone is interested, there is the podcast called "The Docket" done by husband & wife solicitors from Ottawa - Emilie Taman (she was formerly a prosecutor) & Michael Spratt, who did 10 episodes on Making a Murderer. If you listen to all episodes on MAM, they give really good comparisons between the Canadian & American legal system.

If anyone is interested, they did one episode called "THE DOCKET: MAKING A MURDERER AFTER SHOW - SPECIAL GUEST SCOTT FAIRGRIEVE". Scott Fairgrieve, is the chair of Forensic Science at Sudbury's Laurentian University, he did a forensic anthropology report & gave evidence about the site where the charred human remains were recovered on Steven Avery's property. It gives you an idea of what is involved when burning a body. I am inclined to believe that many people had to know about what happened to Tara.

He "destroyed her body" yet got off with a very low bond? Something is not right with what has transpired these past few days. Why was Tara "destroyed" and why did Bo Dukes do it? Surely do hope the total truth comes out soon.

the fact he even made bond with the charges he's facing is purpostrous. beings he's a convicted felon. stole from the army. smh. but the bond being set at 16,700. if that aint a cash bond. then that just down right insane. heck man ive seen drug charges on first offenders carry a higher bond than that. smh. im just flabbergasted. old white money. cant beat it. no wonder this mess has been under wraps forever. his dang granddaddy was a freaking senator. smh. my thoughts and prayers go out for taras fam. they deserve the truth man. THE WHOLE TRUTH. by god

he better be glad he done this mess in irwin. cause pulaski woulda threw the book at his country behind. BOOK EM DANO.

Scary!

I guess they say looks can be decieving but the LOOKS like a little Weasel, how old was he in this picture and how old when the concealing evidence ocurred? Looks like he thinks he can do whatever he wants, well, IMO, totally opposite of RD's appeareances then and now....will be so glad to hear more on this situation

I wish the Twiggs County boys would have been the ones to make the arrest. I have many friends there and in Bleckley (Cochran) that would not have given him a break but then again it's up to the judge not the LEOs. I HATE small town politics, so glad I only go back for short visits.

If you listened to the most recent podcast a former prosecutor & now defense attorney "speculated" that since a bond was already set, he was able to bond out so quick, and the fact it was signed by a Superior Court judge & not a magistrate that he has turned state's witness.

So more than likely (and what I believe) he was granted immunity in exchange for his information and potential testimony if it goes to trial.

Full immunity? I don't know about that—but maybe a reduced or suspended sentence.

I read somewhere that BD was offered a deal if he could lead them to Tara's remains, and he could not remember the exact location. Because of that, he will be offered a reduced sentence...not full immunity. May or may not be correct information.

Sad that he can not remember the location...not yet anyway.
