Sources say all students at Briarwood Elem. school are accounted for. Everyone in school survived.

You have one awesome weather doggie. Hmmm...dog wouldn't let you go out but let hubby go. And who feeds the dog? lol

I totally think God gave us our doggies because we just don't know everything. My wire hair fox, Abby, is so smart and she has sensed earthquakes long before I have . Fortunately they are just baby ones. But, when I first brought her home to live with me whenever we had a bad storm I would make a bed in the bathtub and put my two small dogs in the tub. Next time we had a storm Abby headed for the bathroom, jumped in the tub and sat looking at me like when are you coming to the tub. This was at 2:00 in the morning. She still does that.

I'm very sad for Moore and all of OK. They got totally hit yesterday as well, but Moore cannot buy a break. The other members in Tx will agree that OK is sort of like our sister state , as many states probably have. But OK just seems to always get the short end of the stick with weather.
I'm praying for a miracle or two . There's gotta be one !

OU hospital has had about 65 patients, 45 of them kids... several in surgery now.

A bunch of firefighters are walking away from Plaza Towers to take a break apparently.
Small dog found earlier and everyone started cheering.

I don't know what the answer is to not have this happen to children in the future. The school thought they were doing the best they could to keep them as safe as possible...but what's possible when the school is leveled???

12 minutes is no way enough time to move 500 - 700 students to another area...or have parents evacuate.

But this many children in hospitals, missing and dead is just too tragic!!! ANY loss of life always is - but when it's children, who's lives they have yet begun to live...

I will go to bed with tears in my eyes, a very heavy heart and prayers for all affected!!!

It's times like this that remind us to hold our loved ones close and say "I love you"

May all that have been affected in this horrible tragedy have strength to get through the many days to come. May the children who lost their lives fly high in the stars above and may their families be comforted some how some way.

Fort Smith, AR (just "down the hill" from us) is getting gobsmacked right now. And there was a possible tornado to the east of us. So this ***###!!!***%%% weather system isn't over.

This is going to be the worst fatality causing tornado ever. I hope I'm wrong...but it's just so so devastating.

PLEASE GOD help the trapped people hang in there and help them get rescued. PLEASE.

Actually, I think that this going through a residential area (save for the schools of course) may have actually saved A LOT of lives!

Many people who own those homes would have been at work at 3pm.

And Joplin had a death toll of 161, and we aren't hearing nearly those types of numbers - yet of course. But I do think that the number of folks being at work and where this hit is going to be what keeps those numbers from being so high.

If this had hit at say 6:30pm? Well, very possible this would have been a very different story, since so many don't have a place to go anyway with no basements!

OU Medical Center the only Level 1 Trauma Center
45 children - 20 adults.

25 of those children were not seriously injured.

How true! You never know when your loved ones will be taken from you.

And when all is said and done, may we learn better how to protect our people from tornadoes which will always be with us. We can't eradicate them like smallpox though we may build better buildings, have more warnings and find ways to keep our people safer.

Amy Elliot for the OK/ME office just said on Greta that 20 victims were on their way to her office and that she would not confirm the death troll at higher the 51 until they got there. I believe they were from the school.

Here is a video link from the school in October it shows some of the building in the clips .

And there is a chance that the ones from the school are included.
The ME's office was going out and pronouncing/identifying bodies in the field.
So let's HOPE that 51-55 includes any at the school... and won't increase.

Well said! I for one am quite thankful to have been able to tell my daughter how much I love her this evening.

My family lives in Moore. Thank God they are ok. Their neighborhood is totally devastated, it looks like a "war zone". They are asking peeps to donate to the Red Cross and stay out of Moore! They are trying to evacuate and people are trying to get in to take pics. :furious: Let the first responders do their jobs!
