Coleman, wearing an orange jail jumpsuit and with his arms shackled to his waist, refused to answer reporters' questions as police escorted him to a waiting vehicle. He was being held without bond.
Defense attorney William Margulis said his client planned to plead not guilty at a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday.

I posted this in the last thread before I saw this one ...

I am wondering if any of the defenders were Chris, himself, or Chris's family?

I think they all were cause havent seen any of them anywhere.:waitasec:

Hello Ad,

I hope you are wrong. I hope that there is the slightest shred of the goodness that this man has been taught through many years and he will confess and not put his deceased wife and children, and everyone else through anything else.

You know, Wrinkles....I would hope you're right on this one too! And I wonder if he won't plead on this so he won't get the DP cause I think they might really push for it in this case here in Monroe County. I think this is the biggest murder case they've ever had here--and no doubt one of the most brutal. And I think the SA here has lined all his ducks in a row so to speak in order to be able to win this case.

IIRC, it was Bluesnote that told us the threats were found on his computer...he didn't say if it was work or home tho.

He said it came from a reliable source.

If LE did find those, I really wish he would just conFESS. C'mon CC -- you can do it.

I think his attorneys, much like Baez in the casey Anthony case, have this guy locked up tight. I'm sure they have told him not to say anything to anyone. I bet his family won't be visiting or allowed to visit either. I'm also sure Margulis and Co. told him as the arrest became more imminent: "When you're arrested, you keep your mouth shut if you want ANY chance of getting out of this. You speak and you're done."

Any idea???

"For several days now we have been close," said Jeff Connor of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis. "Tonight there was just some more evidence that came forward and we were able to (show) a more solid case."

What could have possibly come tonight to seal the deal?

This is just surreal that he's :behindbar I'm thrilled, and heartbroken all at the same time. I hope we have answers to some of our speculations soon, but looks like it will be awhile before we know much more.
One thing you can say about our speculations...they were running right along beside LE's speculations. ;)

When the Preliminary hearing comes up, we will learn more.

I still can't relax enough to go to sleep....it's so disturbing thinking about such evil and what he did to his family.

Anybody else having the same problem?

Yep! I've logged quite a few 4:30 a.m. nights since this took place, it's just way too disturbing.

I thought it was a nice touch to not let him turn himself in.

I think there's something to be said for instinct. Can you imagine how many criminals would never be caught if LE had none of it??

That little voice in your head that says :waitasec: -- I don't know what's wrong with this picture, but something's just not right.

I believe it was DNA evidence from the crime scene and the bodies which matched Chris. Others think it was the glove. I guess we will have to wait to learn which flipped the switch, but whatever it was...I am glad the SA's Office acted it on it finally.

For that same reason I have not be able to sleep till I hear the birds start to chirp then I pass out.

Gotta give it up for the "hinky-meter"!

Sorry just had to go there one more time :blowkiss:

I bet at least one will be back to say that age old adage: "Innocent til' proven guilty". Let me jump the gun and reply in advance: Yeah, yeah, we know, but that only applies in a legal setting, not here at Websleuths or among the public at large. Instead, we have the benefit of being able to use our instinct and experience to come to conclusions and protect ourselves and our community long before the final judgment is made. An example, if Chris or casey Anthony or any of these nuts were out on bail there would not be one court in the nation that would find fault with a daycare center or any other employer for that matter that refused to hire them on the basis of the charges against them. The theory of innocent until proven guilty does not eliminate common sense and logic!

I wonder if something was sent over the internet?twitter or MCS site.:waitasec:

I'm gonna say no on the glove. Don't think they'd have that back so soon. I hope Sheri fought like hell and the evidence came from her, under her nails or whatever. She deserves to be the one to bring him down. I just wish we weren't here discussing her and she was still with us. Rest in peace Sheri.

Chris Coleman was arrested Tuesday night May 19, 2009 and charged with strangling to death his wife and two sons at the Columbia Police Department on Tuesday night. Coleman, 32, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder, accused of using a ligature to kill his wife Sheri Coleman, 31, and her two sons, Garett, 11, and 9-year-old Gavin. Their bodies were found May 5 at the family's home in Columbia, just south of St. Louis.

I could look at this photo all night. Seeing him in those shackles surrounded by LE lets me know that the people in Columbia can sleep tonight. They have been on pins and needles for two weeks not knowing for certain if they could be next.
