Do you remember going to take a spitz bath and you thought it would hurt like the blazes, and you're surprised at how good it felt? Then they had that heat lampy thing that they put under the covers to "dry" your stitches?

Women in America took longer to heal than the women in England during WW2 and the bombings. They said getting up and moving help their recovery faster, than the American women who were told to rest for six weeks.

omgggg the sitz bath or whatever its called they gave me after i had my daughter, i was so scared but it helped so much. they also give you this little water bottle that you are supposed to fill up and squirt on yourself when you pee, lol. it worked though and the stitches just dissolve on their own now. w/my son I definitely found that after 4 days in the hospital (yuck) the best thing was getting up and moving around. i basically felt no pain after the first week from the incision, but when it first happened after the dura-morph started wearing off it was the worst pain i have ever had.

Mine is 19, and cusses like a pro when going under the anesthetic LoL. When he had his wisdom teeth out last year they put him under, and I went in the room with him. My face was red and I apologized to all of his care givers, but they were so professional and said it was normal. Today he outdid himself with the anesthesiologist. Cursed like a drunken sailor. I was so relieved when they put me in the waiting room! You're lucky yours was singing bible songs!!

hahaha omg i am laughing so hard. i love that twilight sedation stuff they give you. i have had it twice once for wisdom teeth once for endoscopy and i was loving life. all i remember is telling them that "i can see why michael jackson loves this stuff" probably inappropriate but you have no filter when you are given that stuff

Actually M, it would be a good idea. IIRC, the OBs like to know if there were any complications as part of a family history if you will. I totally get moms not wanting to talk about stuff, however, some things are important. Wouldn't hurt to broach the subject whenever you think the time is right. Family histories of breast, cervical, uterine, ovarian cancer are important as well. The more you know, the better you can make informed decisions. Jmv

Completely agree its good to know gyn history of family whenever possible. Curiously, the hospital midwife I went to before switching to a birthing center swore to me that my mother's birthing history wasn't relevant... that such things aren't genetic and so are are unimportant.

I doubt that. All four of my mother's children were born "late." I was actually 3 weeks overdue. My 3 brothers were all about 2 weeks "late," precisely how "late" my own baby was. No coincidence there, IMO.

Molly, hope it works out the way that you want it to.

Hmmm...ovulation days. How do you calculate that?

I got pregnant on the 3rd day of my cycle and on the 24th day of my cycle, even using birth control. After I got my tubes tied, I still worried about getting pregnant. :scared:

Aaaah..... the benefits of menopause. :thewave: Betcha will be happy to join the crowd when you get there.. :)

Waiting for the oldies start, and wondering how do you play wheelchair tennis. :seeya:

Hi Zuri, I had my tonsils out at 27yrs. talk about pain! I didnt go to sleep. I had a specialist who didnt give adults an anesthetic, said you bled more. He loaded me with sleeping pills and of course novocaine. I was wide awake, too scared to sleep. The back of my throat had to be cut as tissue was so bad. My reg. DR. kept saying they didnt have to come out. Specialist fiercely disagreed. It was three weeks before I could even eat mashed potatoes. All stitched up!! OMG did that hurt!!!:please:

Agggghhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Josh Young has been arrested. His foster parents reported him missing last Friday even though they knew where he was, and Young fled from the police.
More details on HLN.

WAHOO! Glad that "little" Josh is in custody <modsnip>. JMO

Anyone need a little giggle tonight?

I've made it no secret that I do the online dating thing. Tonight I got the message of all messages...from a guy with the username "Peeman72."

Please don't ask me to elaborate

I'm here m :seeya:. Had to solve an "Internet problem" before I could log on.

Ladies there is a new case that I think will be interesting. Isabella Guzman stabbed her mother 79 times in the face and neck and then calmly walked past her stepfather with the bloody knife. She's 18 and a budding sociopath if you ask me MOO. Here's the new thread on this case, which I'm sure will be interesting to those who like the "psychological" aspect.

And some background on the case:

Her demeanor in court is scary.
