I wonder if anyone has verified her story about Victor Arias, if he even exists. Where was that she claimed to have met him while she was an alleged exchange student? Was it Venezuela or Puerto Rico?

Isn't it LWOP that has no appeals? I think there was a change in AZ. laws pertaining to appeals. My mind doesn't always want to remember.
She will take a chance on DP. after over half a jury voted for it? She is a trusty one (trusty word?). :floorlaugh: she seems to think everything will go her way!
Maybe one of her cell mates will have seen a picture of Travis and be angry with her, might settle the question..lease:

This "way too much information" must be what was alluded to with the comment about "S*** will hit the fan soon!" from the other day.

Heaven help us if there is going to be even more nonsense put out there. Seriously, almost five years to prepare for trial and all of the sudden information comes to light post-conviction, pre-sentencing? Must be of the same ilk as the pedo letters. No wonder there was an evidentiary hearing yesterday...hope Martinez had his guns blazing and Stephens shot it all down.

IMO. Time for the courts to put an end to this nonsense. Even if she had a chance at parole down the road could anyone see a review board actually letting her go after what she did to Travis? she has put herself in a league with Chas. Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer killers. It aint going to happen. :drumroll:

But he didn't testify during the mitigation phase last time...? Could someone have talked him into it for the next round?

Something just occurred to me...The defense might be able to use her family this time. The reason they could not last time was that they claimed her father and mother abused her. If the new jury doesn't know anything about that claim, the defense might call the fam as witnesses, yes?

I don't know, Nore. I'm just wondering. It was incomprehensible to me that no one in her family would speak up during the mitigation phase of the trial. The only reason for that that I could think of was that the defense had portrayed them as child abusers previously. ??

Her family FB page now states that she won't agree to anything that would require her to give up her right to appeal.

If this is true, nothing is going to come of the settlement conference. The retrial will continue...

My guess is ultimately LWOP.

Can't Bill Montgomery just step over everyone and put a stop to it all and just let the judge decide .. Life is life in Az .. there is no choice .. no parole for murder one. Let her socialise in prison, I feel for the taxpayers who are spending a fortune for nothing in this case.

Isn't Costa Rica where missy :jail: went as an exchange student and had a "boyfriend" named Victor Arias? I think she made Costa Rica up now that I listen to Deanna's testimony. Missy :jail: always has similar stories to movies and other people. I think she does this to keep her lies straight. She bases her lies on things she can easily remember.
I noticed that about both of them (allegedly) having gone to Costa Rica. Seems a bit coincidental. missy's :jail: mother was probably sitting in the courtroom thinking "???" :scared: when missy :jail: testified she went there. She was a high school drop out not an honor student- she would never have qualified for an exchange student program. Odd that Deanna Reid spent time in Costa Rica and the name of the boyfriend is even more odd.
I remember reading somewhere that "Victor Arias" flew up to Redding for a time and then he stayed at her home for 2 wks, 1997???? Don't know if this is true. He gave her a promise ring, wanted her to live in Costa Rica and start a family, etc. Victor returns to Costa Rica????
At some time, she has to dump Victor to move in with Bobby!
If missy's :jail: mother gets on the stand, in mitigation in the next phase of the trial, will JM get to cross examine her? I'm sure he would ask her about her alleged boyfriend :liar: I would love to see that, but I don't think it will happen. :sigh:

There are several Victor Arais's online. One is a professional photographer, one a professional skateboarder, one an attorney, and one that has rental vacation properties in Costa Rico. Sometimes life cam be strange.

IIRC Victor's family wanted Jodi gone after two weeks and hid him from her.

If you read the crime summaries for death row inmates in Arizona, CMJA ranks up there in terms of it being horrific crime. If she were male, I have no doubt that the first jury would have had no problem coming to a unanimous vote on the death penalty.

I know .. but at this stage it's 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. Whether she gets the DP or not she will live out the rest of her days in prison. The only difference will be the cost and where her cell is located, and how much interaction she has. Shooting for DP will cost millions, and for what? The first jury couldn't decide, and it was up to them. Now to have another one, plus years of appeals where the most likely outcome eventually will be no DP but life in prison is a total waste of money.

Don't see any value whatsoever in shooting for DP at this stage.

My business partner use to be manager at MSR studios in Fl. The Eagles were one of many bands who recorded there. Jay said that one of their requests when they came to town was to have their own beds brought to the house they rented. Jay said of course every house they rented had stairs. Jay would go to the house to make sure everything was being done right and would always end up helping. Jay would see Joe coming up the stairs and all he would mostly say is why why. Jay says Joe is a nice guy but Glen Fry not so nice.
