I also read she has an investigator and she wants the evidence checked out at Mesa PD and that Juan says he wanted the investigator to contact him first and the judge granted it. I wonder if she wants it all looked at in general or if she is concerned about something specific.

I saw that too. Hard to understand her purpose in this, since this is not a retrial of the guilt phase. It would have to be a stunning piece of evidence to put before the court and CMJA hasn't hinted at anything major. Even if she came up with a picture of her with bruises on it, that would mean nothing in terms of June 4, 2008.

Even though I think she is arrogant enough to believe she can do better than any attorneys, I am still a bit stunned. You'd think she would have learned from her first attempt at representing herself---that didn't work out in her favor.

Hopefully, we will get updates on trial happenings tweeted quickly. To actually see anything ---- we have to wait for the whole sentencing phase to be completed', is that right?

I don't think she can say she's not prepared anymore. JSS said the retrial starts Sept. 8 and that's, that.

Can the Judge reinstate the defense attorney(s) if she feels the inmate is not doing herself justice, taking away her power of self representation? I thought that happened at a trail about five years ago.

The inmate has been drawing a lot, so when did she study for the bar? Oh....if a movie is made all monies got other victims family...not the inmates

His article clearly put the blame for this fiasco on the prosecutor for asking for the DP. Sorry Bud...I don't agree. Let's keep focused. SHE BRUTALLY MURDERED TRAVIS, therefore SHE asked for the DP.

I wondered if this would pop up again after the hearing in July, when she said she was not ready to represent herself. Today did not come as a bombshell to me, but I still have to say that this whole case and trial is twisted beyond anything that I ever could have imagined. She is one crazed person.

For a month, I have been posting regarding Arias representing herself and no one ever commented. Was it too? Sure was lonely over there! Ref: Poll thread "Did Arias take the stand....." and Poll thread "When do you think the retrial will begin?"

I don't think it was that no one believed you. I think it was more like no one wanted to believe you. LOL

But we should have known. I hope JM responds with a motion regarding all the times she tried to derail the trial and interfere with witnesses. I HOPE the trial starts on time. It will take forever to pick a jury if she asks questions at the rate she was on the stand. I would hope the attorneys help her with the questions. Hopefully they only allow so many questions to be asked of jurors.

I believe too that the family had some input as to the decision to go for the death penalty. jmo

I would like that. I would like that very, very much. I think the jury might think he is abusing her. Poor little wimp that she is, or so she would want them to think. Remember now. She told JM that he was yelling at her just like Travis did.
