I have just read a lot about RMSF as a result of this thread. Very educational. I live in one of the states that has a high incidence of RMSF according to the CDC, and I have to say I had no idea the incident rate had spiked in 2010. Dog ticks are the primary vector. Sometimes, I think people get confused between Lymes and RMSF.

Lymes is really prevalent where I live and I know many people that have it in various stages. Lymes often mimics Multiple Sclerosis symptoms, including brain lesions, and because testing sensitivity varies, diagnosis and treatment is not consistent.

The Lyme specialists have had to go off medical protocol to treat patients as symptoms vary so widely. And of course, medical insurance won't cover a lot of the treatment. This is a silent epidemic that does not have the attention of the pharmaceutical companies, but does have the attention of NIH. Studies are being conducted, but it may be another 5 years before an effective medical protocol and medications will be available. In the mean time, people are suffering. Ridiculous.

Zuri, just typed a long post and guess it got lost. Thank you. When I got tested, I was told that one reason doctors don't test people for Lyme or RMSF is the cost. $800 a pop. My guess is that insurance doesn't want to pay it and they give doctors a financial incentive to not ask where you live or if you have been outside. Sorry to anyone related to a doctor but I think that does go on.

At first glance, years ago, she was pretty. Once you know what is inside....she became ugly really fast. I cannot imagine why the jury foreman saw her as a victim. Still amazed by that. My DH only saw the ugly.

He's fine now too. I think a lot of people get one of these tick diseases, are not correctly diagnosed, but whatever treatment they get fixes them and they never know what it was. Last year I was hospitalized twice, once for cellulitis in my face (there are pictures of my face on here somewhere) and the other time for unknown reasons. After Gayle got sick, she said I bet that is what you had too. I had the symptoms. Who knows?

The woman at the lab where I got tested was in the hospital for two weeks with Ehrlichiosis.

Now I just don't get that. If there is a Ted Bundy or something out there, that is good looking and sexy…. I want him gone! I'm not going to be lenient because of his looks. If anything, it scares me that I CAN'T see the evil and only see the good looking. Who was that pretty cop who killed his wife? He didn't look like someone who would do that.

Has anyone seen Bernina? I am getting concerned as the foal was due any day and I am worried there may have been complications. TIA
 
I am concerned too, Zuri.
 
I also live in the country and get ticks all the time. There is a really good insect repellent that works wonders to keep mosquitos and ticks off of you. It is NOT regular "Off", as that product it terrible, however, they make a "Deep Woods Off" that is remarkable and does wonders to keep bugs off.

When I am going to be in the woods, even if I have long pants on, I usually spray some all over my lower pant legs and even on my shoes. It really works well to keep the critters from getting on you.

I know what people mean though about house pets also carrying them in the house too. I always end up having to pull quite a few ticks off of me each summer, and my dog is the culprit. I use Frontline on him which also works great but then they drop off him in the house and get on us humans. Self-checking your entire head and hair is a good idea each time you shower. Its best to do it when in the Creme Rinse phase as it makes it easier. By rubbing your 4 fingertips (on each hand) through your scalp slowly and covering every square inch in a circular fashion, you can usually find any ticks that may have latched on.

Hope some of these tips help those of us who inevitably end up getting ticks each year.

How many times have Kirk (Squirmy) Nurmi and Jennifer Willmott either tried to get off defending Jodi or Jodi has tried to sack them? I really get the impression that Jennifer Willmott does not like Jodi at all. Kirk, well, Urgh. Listening to him talking with Jodi about every sexual encounter she has EVER had has made me feel ill all day. I ended up skipping lots of the Jodi defence testimony to get to Juan's cross examination because I just couldn't stand hearing Kirk and Jodi talking about the sex. If CMJA really was as hard done to all her life as she claims then she deserves to be sainted. Personally I think she's completely deluded. The sex tape (omg I nearly barfed at the "orgasm" bit) showed exactly what Jodi felt about their sex life, she loved it!

Don't know just saw on twitter one of her support pages @FreeJodiArias tweeted that both accounts are run by the same person in response to this tweet on Jeff Gold's page.
 
The justice 4 TA page says they were working together at one point but started fighting and split. So I don't know if those were Jodi's words but they're both apparently affiliated with Jodi.
