From what I gather, whoever the witness is absolutely refuses to testify if they can not remain anonymous. If JSS doesn't honor this, then the def can possibly ask for a mistrial. I presume JSS is treading very lightly here.

I have seen many cases where the witness requested to remain anonymous and only their voice was heard and the media were not allowed to take photos/video of the witness and everything went on as usual. Why can't this witness do that? They are being unreasonable, and the only person who acts in such an unreasonable manner is CMJA. :maddening:

How can a witness refuse to testify? It's not like testifying in a trial is optional.

More likely this witness refuses to lie unless they can do it off camera, in which case defense has to go along since they need all the liars they can get.
