My neighbor just got back from the Amish Farmer's Market and brought me this huge homemade sticky bun with lots of pecans. Yum. A nice big glass of homemade mint tea from the garden and it was pure joy. Ahh, freedom, inmate#281129 take that, sucks to be you!

Holy moly, a puppy takes a lot of time, I do love it!!!! I want to change Oscar's name to Buttercup, he's so little and cute. His Mom is a Cairn Terrier; his Dad is Lab. Molly took to Oscar right away. Thursday night Oscar slept on the floor on my side, and Molly slept in bed with hubby and me. Last night Molly slept on the floor with Oscar. Hubby and I are hoping it’s that way tonight. I tried posting a picture of him but all I got was my foot  I’ll try again later. Nore did you get your new little one? OH YEAH, I need to know, is it normal for a boy puppy to pee like a girl? Oscar does this. The only male I’ve had is my dog Joey, and he peed like a boy????

My son's 7 yr. old beagle/basset still pees like a girl. Maybe it's his short legs? We giggle at it all the time! Sounds like you take pictures the same as I do......... only mine usually include my finger. I still love the name Oscar..... Buttercup sounds like a girl. JMO But, any name will stick and he will learn to love it with all the TLC that comes along. It is so fun to hear about everyone's new critters. :loveyou:

Update, here are the two male puppies greeting each other today. They were so happy to see each other. They live several houses apart now and it was joyful to see these litter mates enjoy their meeting.

Finally a beautiful day. The sun is shining and the sky is so blue with a few puffy clouds. The temps reached 76 and I can actually see green grass and the beginning of budding.
One of my grand-daughters will be spending the evening and we are going to barbeque for the first time this year. Cheeseburgers, pickles and roasted potatoes, zucchini and red peppers. We also have German chocolate cake and coconut ice cream. After a days worth of cleaning and only a yogurt in my belly, dinners going to taste great.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Chelly, you're making my mouth water, :lick: you must be quite the cook. How do you grill your steaks, any special secret techniques? Thinking now I might go pick some up at the store. :) Shrimp Creole sounds really good too, I haven't made it in years, I mean since like the 70's, lol. Can you find decent shrimp where you are, as is pretty much hit and miss here. I've actually resorted to ordering frozen shrimp online recently, which was surprisingly good and fresh tasting.

Oh, btw, Beth K. just posted the complete email exchanges between the Hughes and Travis. Has anyone else who is a member of her site seen them? I haven't had a chance yet. Hope everyone has a great weekend. :seeya: :loveyou:
Hi neesaki! The steaks: I just smear some butter all over them, salt and pepper and toss on the grill over really hot coals. I'm a purist, still use charcoal. We can't get decent shrimp in NM. But I buy the freshest shrimp I can get from Albertsons or Tucan Market and use that. The frozen shrimp for sale around here is tough and tasteless and a waste of money.

:greetings: If I may, one good grilling tip is to let your beef come to room temp. before cooking.

Yep, young male pups do pee squatting, LOL!

Oh my gosh . I love those new pups! Good thing they aren't close by.

Pretty fur fur babes you have, Sedona! As pretty as thei mama, I would say. Sweetness in a handful.

We had a fabulous day in the 70s here. Guess we better get the lawn mowers ready .... grass will need cutting soon.

All the the talk of barbecues is making me hungry. Sounds delicious!

Hey everyone! Before I sign off for the night...

Ugh.

Found the movie produced by the Highway Patrol back in the early 60's that was shown in the cafeteria of my grade school when I was in 1st grade. It totally messed me up (and many of my friends as I found out years later). Some of you may have seen it also.
The School nurse who got the movie to show to us was later fired because of it.
It had actual crime scene footage at the end. The problem was, besides being inappropriate for kids, it only talked about "stranger danger". Anyone who was being molested by family or friends didn't realize it applied.
Warning: The last few minutes are disturbing and graphic.

Did anyone else have to watch this when they were a kid?

I have never seen this video - and they actually showed this to children?? WOW! I grew up in the 50s and early 60s and fortunately never ran into any monsters!

Don't know about rose petal ice cream, but I've had Garlic Ice Cream. Does that count?:scared:

Ha! I was going to say about the Garlic Ice Cream - Gilroy Garlic Festival!! :happydance: haven't been there in such a LONG time! But never had the garlic ice cream..

You all are making me REALLY hungry! Hope the Huz has something "good" planned for dinner! You know, I don't cook! LOL!

:seeya: see ya all tomorrow!

My grandson woke me up at four this morning to go get fresh hot cinnamon buns from the donuts store. It melted in my mouth. I don't drink coffee but I did have chocolate milk.

For dinner , I've made a big salad (fresh leaf lettuce, sliced cucumbers, celery, radishes, red and green peppers, and a nice red onion.), and just made ranch dressing from scratch (I love to add one spoon of bleu cheese over my ranch). I've sliced mushroom to salute in real butter and wine, and dh is doing my favorite - Texas ribeyes. I've sliced fresh strawberry's (they're a great prices right now) and baked a pound cake for desert.

OK that's my two meals for the day. And I have a large glass of ice green tea with sliced lemon and fresh picked mint. Ahhhhhh life is good.

and never ever stick a fork in them when they're grilling. Bring them in and let them rest. If the juices are to rare for you put it back on the grill.

Ooh let's see. Fresh baguettes, unsalted butter, heavenly wedges of brie, fresh crispy vegetables, fresh juicy fruit (mangoes in particular), strawberry mousse cake...

Over the course of a couple of days I've also had delicious fried rice with all sorts of vegetables, spice cake with raisins, and rose petal ice cream.

Yum, yum, yum. Good, fresh food in the company of loved ones, breathing in the fresh air and taking in the sights of mango/pomegranate/guava trees, roses, jasmines and hibiscus flowers, butterflies dancing and doggies running around. All that good food calls for a good nap on my hammock or soft bed.

And, I also have my phone, computer and kindle to use whenever I want.

Freedom is a great thing. As for Arias? Too bad so sad.

OH YUM!!! Rose petal ice cream... That sounds amazing! Do you make that yourself in an ice cream maker or.. can I buy it somewhere?

ETA~ Never mind Rose.. I see you already answered further down. Just hadn't read there yet. = )

You guys are making me SO hungry!!! Dang... Just a spinach and garlic pizza here tonight!!

I grew up in 50's and 60's too. Only thing I was told was "Don't get into cars with boys". Thinking of that makes me ROFL....

That was one thing my father was adamant about. And he gave us a dime to make a phone call if we needed to. Now a days it's party hard and get so drunk you're gang raped and no one cares to stop it.

Hi grammie, my baby boy peed like a girl until he was at least a year old. Now, he lifts his leg and pees like a boy , on everything, even if he doesn't need to pee, LOL. Don't you just love 'em!
ETA: I didn't mean to imply that he really pees everywhere, he just pees outside, Thank God for that, LOL. He's a very good boy. :)

What a horrible thing to show children. I never saw this and if I had at that young an age, it would have traumatized me too!!
I couldn't believe that video, thank God I never saw that as a child, I can't even imagine the effects... Terrible.
A local store makes it. Baskin Robbins also has it (roses and cream) but only in certain countries in the Middle-East, Asia and possibly Europe. I'm not sure about America. :seeya:

Wow, Rose, where are you, I guess I was thinking you are in the States. No ? Thanks for the info, I seldom eat ice cream, but this I would surely try. I would be even more enthusiastic if it was rose gelato. Hey, it's like your name, Rose! :) So have you ever tried the gelato? :seeya:

That is so sweet, Sedona, what beautiful puppies ! :happydance:

Thanks for the tips, Chelly ! :) And that's the problem I have with local frozen shrimp as well. I was really happy with the frozen shrimp I ordered, it was vacuum sealed, and very large, very fresh tasting, though more expensive than what I find at the local grocers. Still, if I'm going to spend money on shrimp, which isn't very often, it has to be more than edible considering that it's never cheap. You're very fortunate to find decent fresh shrimp at your local markets. Thanks again for the cooking tips. :seeya:

I was thinking the same thing all day, hungry all day! Argh... And I was so tired of cooking all week long, so we finally went out and had some really good Tex-Mex with frosty cold margaritas. Cheese and onion enchiladas, tostados, tacos, fresh salsa and guacamole. Too much food, but I just ate what I could and left the rest. :lick:
It's amazing how good food makes us feel so good , isn't it ? :happydance: Awe, too bad inmate # 281129 .

Hey, BendPages, I was just reading over on the sentencing thread, and noticed your post about Darlie Routier. That's actually the case that got me involved with Websleuths way back when, though it was a few years after her conviction, IIRC. Then I was away for a while. I did follow the Jon Benet Ramsey case , but I don't think here. And then the Casey Anthony case, I followed every single minute of the trial, DVR'd and watched daily. My husband and son thought I was totally nuts, LOL. So what's new? :D I wasn't reading here then though, as I did good just to watch all the reports and trial on TV. Thinking back, I just wasn't on the computer much back then, and instead was watching a lot, I mean A LOT of HLN . I'm talking a Nancy Grace addiction, every single night. Much to my husband's dismay, LOL , again. :giggle:

Then, somehow I finally found my way back here to Websleuths for the Robyn Gardner case. Hey, Niner, weren't you on that thread ? A dark and mysterious and downright infuriating case, that one. I still shake my head and think, OMG, that Giordano SOB is still on the loose. And, where is Robyn Gardner ? Still, sadly, no where to be found. :( Oh, and then there's the Amy Bradley case, well, thread closed down here, but you know what? She's still missing. Such a sad case, that one. :( Life.... tragedy and mystery, entwined.
