Morning all!

snipped by me...
Today is Monday the twenty seventh day of April - that is one hundred and seventeen days of this year. We have two hundred and forty nine days to follow.

1956 - Gene Pitney Jr. is signed by Capitol Records hoping to make him the next Elvis Presley.

1969 - Joe Cocker makes his television debut, singing "Feelin' Alright" on the Ed Sullivan Show. ( I remember dancing to this and After Midnight by Clapton at a club on Stewarts Beach on Galveston Island in 1972)

1982 - The trial of John W. Hinckley Jr. began in Washington. Hinckley was later acquitted by reason of insanity for the shooting of President Ronald Regan and three others. I heard on the news the other day that he's moving home to his mothers.

2008 - A 73-year-old Austrian, Josef Fritzl, has been arrested on suspicion of keeping his daughter locked in a cellar for 24 years, and fathering seven children with her.

I really liked Gene Pitney - good voice! and Joe Cocker!
regarding Hinckley - I heard they might charge him with James Brady's death, as he died with a bullet in his head, caused by Hinckley. I think they should!
re Josef Fritzl - I followed that case - WOW! Unbelievable!!

Here's what the looters in Baltimore are looting for. Freddie Gray's arrest record:

Hey Bernina! I love your state. It was like traveling to another country and so incredibly beautiful.

I was one of the few following the Julie Schenecker trial who thought she was very mentally ill and it seems she still is even now. :(
I was and am another one of the few,

I'm right there with you, YorN. It doesn't seem that the meds they are giving her are bringing her to a rational plain of reality.
The whole case was incredibly sad. Quite honestly, I blame the husband. His military career, his "image", was far more important to him than becoming part of a hands on team of specialists to give structure to his wife, and educate his children about what their mom's mental illness was and how she related to the real world.
With the experience I've been through with my 2nd ex husband, there was a strong possibility that one or both of her children might have genetically acquired the same mental illnesses and started that downhill snowball in their late teens, early 20's, or when their lives encountered a period of high stress.

My biggest fear, after my ex was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, was my son developing the same. I STILL fear that, even though he's almost 28 and hasn't shown any type of "signs".

Aurgh.

What a mess.
Where can you even start to assign blame? Environment, parenting, peers, the juvenile system, the legal system, society, Law Enforcement?
This man didn't deserve to die at the hands of LE, but he sure doesn't deserve any type of hero worship either.
Sharpton and Jackson just incite, they're not part of change, they're part of the problem. You can't deal with 21st century issues with minds stuck in the 1950's and 60's. That goes across the board for any type of leaders, law enforcement, and politicians.

Hey Bernina! I love your state. It was like traveling to another country and so incredibly beautiful.

Sorry I couldn't make it down! I hope you had the opportunity to travel outside of Phoenix. When you fly in or out of Sky Harbor, there's an area of mountains and a green swath north of Phoenix as you descend or ascend.......that's the area I live in, lol! Don't know if Gateway Mesa has the same flight patterns. But you certainly came at a beautiful time of the year!
We had snow just 50 miles away over the weekend, you probably flew over the San Francisco Peaks, they're just gorgeous right now, totally covered with snow...and it's the end of April!

Just another day on the golf course in Arizona, LOL! We seriously need something funny today!

Just look how much the robin's nest have grown!! It's perfectly round :) I can look out my kitchen window and watch Momma & Poppa Robin build. It's amazing how they know what to do! Momma will work hard snuggling down in the nest, take her wings and feather all around the inside, and Poppa says very close by, watching over her. When Momma flies off, Poppa brings more building materials for her. Been fun watching them. Can't wait till she lays her eggs :)

Oh Wow!! That's amazing!!!

Good evening Sidebar flies...just stopping in after catching up on the Holmes Trial. Let's keep the great city of Baltimore in our prayers tonight.

Have a good evening!! :loveyou:

So speaking of mental illness, I spent the day on the James Holmes Colorado Theater Shooting thread. Had to put a roll of duct tape next to my keyboard in case I needed to tape my mouth and fingers shut. Rough trial to watch on live stream.....but then some of the posts on the thread...GROAN!

coffeejunkie was there and she can affirm.

Evening to all my special sidebarfly's. To day, April twenty eight, is the one hundred and seventeenth day of the year and it's almost over.

Hopefully the ground will dry out and I can mow the backyard by this weekend.

If needed...I can throw in a couple extra sticky rolls duct tape!! :) It's been taking me awhile get use to what a 'live stream trial' is. I find I read the thread more than watch the trial. From what I have watched, I cry from all the sadness and pain and need a break and go back reading.

A peaceful night in Baltimore...THANK GOD! Now we wait and see what the findings will be that lead to his death on Friday. I fear (and I hate saying this word) 'haters' will do if it is not what they want to hear. Sigh

And the Mother of the Year award goes to..... She's got my vote!!! :giggle:

Great post CJ, and thanks for sharing this video...it is so refreshing to see a mother determined, focused and unafraid when it comes to keeping her child out of harms way--she has nothing but respect and support from me.

Kudo's to Mom for fighting tooth and nail for her son when it matters.

Good Morning Sidebar Friends.
:loveyou:
Hope everyone is having a healthy and happy day so far.
Maybe I will see some of you on the James Holmes thread.

Oh, I downloaded a sample of the Hughes' book about Travis onto my Kindle (wasn't sure I was willing to buy it until reading a few chapters. Seems like it was mostly written by Sky (sp?). So-so reading IMO. Doubt I will purchase.
HUGS!
