I don't know what I will do yet about Windows 10. I emailed my older son to see what he thinks.
I have done some more research on Google and came up with these articles:

Question:
I have Windows 7 Professional will I be forced to upgrade to Windows 10?
"You won't be "forced" to do anything.
As matters stand now, Microsoft will end "extended support" for Windows 7 on January 14, 2020. What that means is Microsoft will continue to provide free security updates (through Windows Update) until January 14, 2020.
After that date, you will be in the same position as users of Windows XP were as of April 8, 2014: you can continue to use Windows 7, but if you do so for a computer connected to the Internet, you'll be at increased risk of having your computer compromised by malicious software." :scared:

Are you a Windows 8 user? Still using Windows 7? Either way, you'll love Windows 10.
(with video clip: Microsoft Windows 10 in 90 seconds)
"...Microsoft went back to the drawing board with Windows 10 to develop an operating system that will be familiar to Windows 7 users but doesn't compromise on modern features. (Note: You're not crazy -- Microsoft skipped Windows 9 altogether.)...
The coolest new feature is
Cortana, Windows 10's version of Siri, which appears net to the Start button on the taskbar.
"She" has a sense of humor ("I know Siri, but I don't KNOW her, know her, if you get what I mean," Cortana says in response to an obvious question). But in addition to barking voice commands and queries, the search feature is genuinely helpful..."

Microsoft explains what you’ll lose by upgrading to Windows 10
"Microsoft announced today that it will be launching Windows 10 on July 29th, encouraging Windows 7 and 8.1 users to reserve their free upgrade with a notification in their task bar. However, while the company has been busy highlighting all the shiny new features in the upcoming OS, it's been a bit quieter when it comes to spelling out the limitations — including making updates automatic for Windows 10 Home users..."

10 may just be everything that Windows 8 should have been
"The end is in sight: Windows 10 will be released on
July 29 as a free download for anyone running Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1; the free update will be available for a year.
If you aren't eligible for the free upgrade (perhaps one of the many still running Windows XP) you can also pick up individual licenses. Windows 10 Home will set you back $119, and Windows 10 Pro will cost you $199. There isn't any word on international pricing, but those prices are identical to Windows 8 pricing, and convert to £78 / AU$156 and £131 / AU$262 for the Home and Pro versions, respectively..."

Here are the specific upgrade paths to get to all versions of Windows 10
"...Microsoft will offer a free upgrade to Windows 10 for qualified Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 devices in the first year. After the first year, upgrades will be paid via boxed product and VL Upgrades.
Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 7 Home Basic and Home Premium devices upgrade to Windows 10 Home
Windows 8/8.1 Pro and Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate devices upgrade to Windows 10 Pro
If upgraded within the first 12 months following launch, the device will receive ongoing Windows 10 updates for free for the life of that device
