I want a dog.....I'm over the "therapy" bunny (she is mean) my husband took over. Any dog I see I try to pet.....I really miss my Zoey

What ?! I thought all giraffes had to be named after a person here at Websleuths ? :giggle:

More specifically must be named after someone on our side bar! So ..who is Tatu ?

That's our Niner

No? maybe it's Spellbound  or Bernina? (no she's the wolf )

He's all of us on the SB. :)

CRAP!!!! (excuse the language)

It's snowing again!!!! :(

US spring forecast: March snow to threaten Northeast; April warmth to fuel widespread severe weather outbreaks

"Punxsutawney Phil failed to see his shadow on Feb. 2, 2016, indicating an early start to spring for the United States. The decision marks only the 18th time Pennsylvania's most famous groundhog hasn't seen his shadow since the tradition began in 1887.

For the Northeast and mid-Atlantic, AccuWeather meteorologists are concerned for just the opposite, as cold air and the potential for snow will linger into the start of March. Elsewhere, springlike severe weather isn't predicted to become widespread until April.

The full 2016 U.S. spring forecast can be found below..."

He was beautiful- a nightmare to groom tho' (I didn't know anything about a Maltese dog and didn't know about the long hair):

This is what he looked like when we first got him:

We kept his hair like this:

He was my little 9 lb love.

Oh my gosh .... they are so gorgeous! I don't think the long hair would work in my house, though. Too "pretty" for an outdoor, dig in the dirt clan. Your first puppy pic looks a lot like mother-in-law's baby now. She's a mutt and more the light golden color, but a bit wiry. She keeps her hair short. She has been a lot of comfort to MIL since Dad passed away.

Tatu in Swahili means "third child" ..... anyone here the third child?

Nothing better than a dog. I love my cats, but everything is on their terms. Dogs are constantly showing affection or giving --- comfort, love, laughs... they do it all. Could another dog be in your future, Zoey? Better be careful..... they can work their way into your heart so quickly.

Watch 1,400 US workers learn their jobs are moving to Mexico :(

"A crowd of Carrier manufacturing workers erupted into anger Wednesday as they learned their plant was being relocated to Monterrey, Mexico.

Carrier, an Indianapolis-based heating, ventilation and air conditioning company owned by United Technologies, announced in a statement on Wednesday that the plant would undergo a three-year transition to Mexico starting in 2017..."

It's sad. The Carrier plant here shut down already, a few years ago . Hundreds of jobs lost.

Indeed....fingers crossed. Dream dog another female pug...funniest breed but stuborn

I want to ask you all a question, Sidebarians. My son and his fiance are going to be married soon. They've been living together for at least two years, and are talking about having a formal wedding. My DH and I aren't exactly on that same page because they've been cohabitating all this time, in our eyes they're already married, or, put the cart before the horse so to speak. I'm sure we're old fashioned LOL, but we think they should just get married without all of the Hoopla, if you know what I mean. Are we wrong? We understand they want to be married in the Catholic Church, but why a big formal wedding? It just doesn't seem right to us.

Anyway, Just looking for some feed back. Thanks friends.

I might be alone on this, but I'm a sucker for "happily ever after." They deserve their time in the sun.

Please allow them to have the wedding of their dreams -- contribute as much or as little as you see fit -- but don't be judgmental. JMO :)

I think it depends on who is footing the bill for a big wedding. If they are, they should have whatever they can afford, and the way they wish it to be. If not, they would have to work with what financial means are available to them. Perhaps they want all their friends and family to be with them as they move into a new stage of life, committed by a license that reinforces that commitment.

Personally, I don't think the "living together" would qualify for a lot of gifts, as they probably have most of their necessities. But sharing the commitment with their family and friends can be a joyous occasion, nonetheless.

Don't let their choice bring any negativity to the occasion, whatever you decide. Be happy for them and get their marriage off to a good start.

and pugs are an adorable choice if you are willing to put the time into teaching them manners. Most dogs will have a stubborn streak, just teach them who is boss from the beginning.

I might be alone in this but I don't understand all the hoopla and thousands and thousands of dollars for a wedding. It seems so weird when that money can be used on let's just say married life. I just don't get it.

I've had pugs and female was so much better than male. Both stubborn and they are hard to train

First! :winner: I did it! 5,500!!!! :skip: :thewave:

You must have missed by question before - when are you and Susza going to Florida??!! :escape:

Okay - signing off for the night! Take care everyone! :grouphug:

:seeya:

Not soon enough! It is just too darn cold here and I had to drive in the snow today which I don't like to do. Hopefully, this year when DH and I drive down to FL, there will no snow storms near Wagara like last year!

I tend to agree with GigiG and Spellbound. They should be able to have the wedding they want (especially if they are paying for it). It's not a matter of what's right/wrong for you and your husband (unless you are paying for the wedding).

I wouldn't make waves about it, IMO (might make the bride have bad feelings for you/DH????), but of course you should do what feels right for you and your DH.

Just my :twocents:

I was there almost three years ago. My daughter and son-in-law had a formal wedding after living together for several years. They paid for it and had a beautiful celebration with all their friends and family. They created a reception that reflected them perfectly and they do not regret spending the money at all. I did buy her dress even though they did not expect that. I just felt personally that I wanted to do this for my only daughter. It seems like it is getting to be the norm now a days. My son is heading that way as well.

Tatu was named after me .... my middle name is Tatu!

(that's the best I could do on short notice!)
