On the book site discussions they are discussing making chloroform and it's ingredients in particular acetone. S is wondering where it can be bought. Not sure I think maybe someone there might check in here sooner or later. Acetone can be bought at any beauty supply store, perhaps even a big drugstore. I have bought it for removing nail polish and it is pure acetone.

You can also buy it at Target in a sixteen ounce bottle. I've got it there when Sally's is closed.

I'm not sure if we have acetone anymore here and you have to have a hairdresser or skin specialist to get into the beauty supply stores here also.
We had a problem with "glue sniffers" using nail polish remover ....so I have a feeling it was either banned or watered down ..
I posted over there with this info. But u can get acetone at stores like home depot. (Its about $17.00 for a gallon. Its sold in same section and can. Type can as paint thinner

It is sold by the gallon at Home Depot here, so no restrictions...

Oh wow - I never even thought about Home Depot - here the nail polish remover is frequently stolen - so much so it was hard to keep in place and often by very young people. Maybe it was just for drugstore, grocery store level it is no longer sold? Here..Canada that is.

Oh I'm not doubting that FCA bought it and used it. If you watch movies about knocking people out - it's "always" ether or chloroform - although lately of course the date rape drug. That and Tony's joke cartoon is probably where she got the idea. But would even FCA give that rape drug to a child? What am I saying - she probably would!!:banghead:

You can also buy it at Wal Mart, Walgreens, CVS, and grocery stores in the cosmetic section. They took airplane glue and spray paint off the shelves years ago because you could get a buzz from of it. I think it was called huffing?

I don't believe there was any special security there. I am sure Mr. Baez (Or Books and Books) had a couple of security type guys, but they were very nondescript, and did not stand out.

I am sure that both Mr. Baez and Books and Books both had contingency plans if there were any disruptions, but the crowd there was very polite and respectful. IMO, the general public is not as passionate about either Mr. Baez, or the case in general, as are the people here on WS are.

As far as I know, that may have been his only book signing.

Interesting Rossva - thanks for that information. Can you tell us, since I don't believe Jose has done many book signings - did he have any kind of special security on checking who came in and out?
I often wondered if he was concerned if any picketers or objectors would show up and maybe cause a "scene" at what was "his" event.

If Jose only did one book signing, that could mean he wasn't too interested in promoting his book. Did he believe that it would be a waste of time or was he too busy to promote his book to the fullest?

Amy? Did Casey used it on Amy to steal her money?

This could have been the bomb shell that convinced the jury that Casey was guilty, and that Baez's opening remarks about that day, were not true.
Too bad she cannot be re-tried.
I guess the only way to make her accountable, would be for George or Cindy to file a civil suit against Casey.
Or, the real relatives of baby Cayley from the father's side.

I really am curious, if there was a death of a man who could be Caylee's father around the correct time that Casey said he died.
Guess I am still hoping for some justice for that little one.

From a quick search, I'm seeing motions to exclude regarding the knife, sex with the Tonys, speculation of CA knowledge, Brian Burner testimony, CA history of lying/stealing, heart sticker, hair banding, canine alerts, trunk stain, slutty pictures, tattoo, "Diary of Days," Cindy's MySpace, and "Jib Jab" cartoon. Nothing about a motion to exclude evidence that the Defendant was playing on Facebook, chatting on AIM and searching "foolproof suffocation" while her daughter was allegedly drowning or being disposed of down the block.

De Ja Vu - Home Depot rings a bell. Wasn't there some kind of receipt or video or other evidence that wasn't allowed in or was just forgotten about - related to Home Depot??

Yes, that's it - ugh - I watched one of the programs about interventions for a women who was a huffer - you could almost watch the brain cells dying.

That's good to know - thanks- appreciate you taking the time. I haven't kept track of his appearances so had no idea if he'd done other signings.

Oh there's an interesting thought...hmmm- could have - that was all very strange - I sure never thought she sleepwalked and hid it that's for sure! I just assumed she'd had a bit to drink or ahem..smoke or was exhausted tired and slept deeply. But you could be right about that.

So for us non-lawyers here, they basically wanted to suppress all the evidence that pointed to her guilt because she was guilty. The rest of the stuff they did not want to suppress was because it was all made up. Right?

Just like in the Drew Peterson case... all his past "bad" deeds... :denied:

Do you remember CA on the stand mentioning that she used acetone to remove nail polish from Caylee's fingernails??
I thought BAM right there. I know there was one nurse on the jury & I thought for sure she connected on the chloroform ingredients.
I have pure acetone here right now. I buy it at walmart in the nail polish remover section. Yes - it's that easy to get.

Geez when why do I have to use this carpy stuff I get from the drug store that doesn't even take it off properly. No fiar!!
I'll go to WalMart over the weekend and see if I can find some - cause the stuff I have is just plain silly.

I don't remember that. It has been so long and CA said so much. Why would she even say that. Were they questioning her about the chloroform?

LE questioned Cindy about the contents of her bathroom vanity. One was peroxide and Cindy said she thought you could drink a little and it wouldn't be fatal.
