Just be wary of your teeth Ranch ... It's one of those ones with two cans of beer on top and tubes hanging off it.
Oh, it's got dangling corks too

Look anything like this?

Hey all not to be off topic or anything... LOL

Watching the Hawks game -- singing both anthems -- remembering a great day in July, spent here with "y'all"

"God save our land. Glorious and free..."
"Land of the free, and the home of the Brave"

We are very fortunate to have such a lovely neighbor to the north...

Oh.

Go HAWKS!!!!

Go Canucks! Hugs from The True North Strong and Free!

:floorlaugh: lucky for you both that the only cosmic clearance JB ever had involved a tinfoil hat so the aliens couldnt talk to him through his fillings!! :floorlaugh:

If Jose Baez ever held access to joint atomic programs of NATO, I'll fly my butt down to Australia and eat your hat for you.

Perhaps JB was in the same NATO program I remember from back in the early seventies, in Southern California.

Atomic joints were required at all the NATO (Nothing Alchoholic Toking Only) meetings. Smoke one Atomic joint and you thought could be anything you wanted to be, even a LAWYER. :)

it does sound like something off Saturday morning cartoons......I can see him now......:hero:

Ok! Maybe one afternoon, after having gorged on couscous and jalapenos, JB was delivering some papers to a floor that normally would require such clearance. Upon handing the papers to the clerk, he is struck with uncontrollable, uhm, err, "stomach pains" and is quickly ushered in to the nearest bathroom. Another person has to accompany him since this person had Cosmic Clearance, thus, in JB's mind, HE had Cosmic Clearance. Make sense?

Wasn't he around 18 when he joined the Navy? Dropped out of school so no college. My guess he was a yeoman (clerk) and they would have clearance but does not mean he had access to "secret" documents just that he worked in an area where they had to be cleared. Plus, I live not too far from Norfolk now and frankly in this whole area it's not unusual to have secret clearance. You just don't talk about your job. Even years later I don't think you are suppose to go around bragging you had this type of position (if you really were exposed to top secret information opposed to just being stationed in an area that required that type of clearance).

Didn't he go to work for Lexus as a paralegal after leaving the service? He may have had a job in the legal department. jmo

Lambchop: "My guess he was a yeoman (clerk) and they would have clearance but does not mean he had access to "secret" documents just that he worked in an area where they had them,"

I concur. ;)

What is truly pathetic is JB's attachment to the term-- like a little boy bragging that he knew the secret password to a cooler boy's cool playfort.

I can see Baez using this clearance term:

If you refer to the “Transatlantic Armament Cooperation-Report of Military Research Fellows” dated August 2000, Appendix B, pg.B-3, paragraph A, B, and C. You will see the classification “Cosmic” is only referring to Top Secret information being shared between NATO Allies. It is not anything more than that. It is just information being shared over a separate classification registry system because it is going to between separate allied countries with different classification systems. When the information reaches the intended NATO recipient it is then re-classified/renamed to the receiving country’s appropriate classification level. People issued this type of clearance would be briefed on this during their security expectations and non-disclosure agreement signing. It makes me doubt the credibility of witnesses and whistle-blowers using this term to validate their story.

Somehow the words "DOUBT THE CREDIBILITY" seem to fit. :floorlaugh:

BBM

Yeah. Like the way KC spent all day trying to think of things to do with herself and lies to get out of the things she didn't want to and told everyone she was an "event planner". Lol!

Two peas in a pod. How do these people find each other????

... and in other words it would be a temporary caveat on a clearance level given to, let's say, a button pushing clerk (who would likely be low-ranking), although the information they generally had access to might only be at Restricted or Confidential level. A safeguard really, and not necessarily related to undertaking tasks of any sensitive nature at all.

Infamous people always get some type of attention and usually it is bad. Let's be glad FCA isn't famous like she thinks she is. JMO.

Personally, I am ignoring any thread on this but that is just me.

Guys, seriously, I am laughing here. Getting an E Hollywood Story is like the Enquirer publishing her autobiography. They do those on everyone, and don't always do the greatest of jobs either. E is like a tabloid newspaper on television. I am cracking up here. This is nothing to get upset over. Seriously, it's something to laugh hard about! :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

I guess that depends on WHO you are Dorothy S... Sometimes it's those difficult times that brings out the best in all of us....:twocents:

LC...I think Joy B should invite DS back on her show...:floorlaugh:

Heck yes...those hard times show who we really are and what we're really capable of. Heck YES I freaking judge Casey on what she did to Caylee! I think Dorothy Clay Sims should worry more about her hair than talking about Casey. Obviously that messy nest on her head is making her lose brain cells. She has it completely backwards!

Thanks Well Done ... but I just found this (albeit on Wikipedia):

NATO classifications
For example, sensitive information shared amongst NATO allies has four levels of security classification; from most to least classified:

COSMIC TOP SECRET (CTS),
NATO SECRET (NS),
NATO CONFIDENTIAL (NC), and
NATO RESTRICTED (NR).

In addition to the above classification levels NATO operates with
COSMIC TOP SECRET - A
This level is given to people who need to have access to the joined Atomic program of NATO. This level is never given permanently to anyone, regardless of jobtitle - e.g. President of the US etc. It is only given for short periods of time, when needed.

I stand corrected ... but now that I know what it really is, I'm more convinced Jose is full of s****

And who wants to bet Jose got an intern to enter this on Wikipedia for him? I tell my students NEVER use Wikipedia as a source. I am not believing this unless I see it on a CREDIBLE website. Cosmic clearance, yeah right! Only in Baez's dreams...

Love it !! I'm doubting he picked that one .... :giggle:

Loved this snippet too ... " According to his resume, he spent three years at the NATO base in Norfolk, Virginia, trained as an intelligence analyst, describing it as "Cosmic Top Secret" security clearance."

OK, what the he11 is a "Cosmic Top Secret" clearance ????????????
I've had a Secret and a Top Secret clearance from DOD and worked for Navy contractors for years and have NEVER heard of it :waitasec:
Anyone heard of it ?

OK, this one's even better ... from Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jose_Baez_(lawyer)
" According to his resume, he spent three years at the NATO base in Norfolk, Virginia, trained as an intelligence analyst, describing it as "Cosmic Top Secret" security clearance"
Jose ... intelligence analyst
It was also news to me that Jose spent 3 years at the NATO base ... ???? Guess he got his GED and went straight to NATO (must have skipped boot camp) and being an intelligence analyst ??? WTH ???

The part about being in the Navy seems correct but the rest of it ...
Anyone know how to look up military records ?

This is what I have learned about it..

Cosmic Top Secret Clearance is used by NATO Only and it is a TEMPORARY security classification only given when needed.

It is part of a 4 level security clearance used by NATO Allies regarding sharing sensitive information between countries...
It is, I believe, the equivalent of the US's TOP Secret Clearance

It is information being shared over a separate classification registry system because it is going to between separate allied countries with different classification systems. When the information reaches the intended NATO recipient it is then re-classified/renamed to the receiving country’s appropriate classification level.
---------------------------------------------------------

In other words....Baez may have gotten this Cosmic Top Security Clearance JUST ONCE in order to perform a duty/share information with a NATO Allied country and then his clearance was removed.

Please tell me you learned this someplace else than Wikipedia...

I've held similar clearances also denjet. Our clearance levels are the same as those in the US (and NATO's) and we use the same terms. I have never heard of a 'Cosmic' clearance and would be confident enough to say it doesn't exist.

Apparently it does exist and is used by NATO only.

From what I have learned...
It is a Temporary security clearance classification, no one holds a permanent Cosmic Top Security clearance, and once the information is given to the allied country the information is re-classified to conform with that country's security clearance classification system
