He doesn't have to file anything. Once the case is over at the trial court level, he is "free" unless he files something new. But the only new thing filed, I think, was the motion to hold JA in contempt, and Mason filed that one IIRC.
Thanks AZ. I just know in our court we get notice of withdrawals all the time because those attorneys want OUT and they don't want to continue to be served with crapola. KWIM?
ETA: And as far as I know, while there is an appeal pending...the case can't be closed. Or that's how it is handled here at the fed level.
