Yes, I was thinking of that very thing when I was watching Amanda Knox stumbling through her little speech this morning at the airport. Different responses from each woman from each side of the spectrum....

I don't know much about this case because I did not follow it but I must say at least she came forward and made a statement thanking eveyone for supporting her. KC has said nothing, nothing and accordingly is holding out for the big bucks. That should tell us something. jmo

I want to thank each and every one of you for the love and support.

This will be the first of many posts, so this will be kept brief, and hopefully quiet.

It was a long 3 years, and I have a long year ahead, but the battle is far from over.

Everything I do from this moment forward is not just for Caylee, or for myself, but for those who have bravely stood beside me, yourselves included. A lifetime of thanks.

My love to you all, and I can promise you this, good things are to come.

I leave you with one parting phrase: “Nenikekamen”-which means “we are victorious” in Greek.

i have to say i dont know much about amanda knox but have been googling... the responses of both, imo, are very telling...

amanda knox seemed genuine, warm, and very appreciative. her little speech made me cry. you can tell she is educated. it appears she has a loving family. And try as I did, I didn't see any YouTube clips of her family making "spectacle's of themselves" (cough, CA & crew). They seem like a nice family with character.

We have heard nothing from Felon Casey Anthony though. She is quiet as a bee thinking her "value" will rise in the coming months i guess (lol, rude awakening). She didn't even thank those who helped her and believed in her (not many so it wouldn't have taken long). Looks like she hasn't changed much either (no job and no education). her family seems the same, jobless and placing the blame on whatever new theory someone presents (seizures).

ETA: NVMD I found it. Oh.My.Goodness..first the page. Second, once again she does not have a personality of her own. She is totally channeling and copying Amanda Knox. LOLOL

If KC posted a thank you anywhere to anyone, it was an afterthought when she saw Knox give her brief statement. Whoever posted it, it was done TODAY...not months ago when she was released from custody.

I do not know if Knox is guilty or not, but I do not see much evidence pointing toward her guilt. Her trial was a sham, so the verdict had to be overturned and fortunately the second jury realized that.

Knox will have a good life, a meaningful life. She will forever be grateful to those who stood in her corner. KC, on the other hand, will never give anything of herself to anyone or to society in general. Knox will live a productive life; KC will just simply exist.

IMO, I think comparing AK to FCA isn't really a fair comparison, mainly because most here have even admitted they know next to nothing about AK or her case, so there is no 'predetermined' view of her vs. FCA who everyone knows and has many preconceived notions of.

I'm not willing to put AK on any sort of pedestal. The lady was accused and convicted of murder, aquitted on appeal yet still found guilty of trying to place blame on an innocent party. There is a lot more to that story that we don't know.

Some quite interesting thoughts presented by CBC today on why juries voted the way they did in the Amanda Knox trial and the Anthony trial and how they view female defendants... I actually had to do some belief searching...:waitasec: and would be interested in hearing your coments about this article.

I think she used some pretty poor examples of a jury having to overcome prejudices to reach a guilty verdict. Those women had so much going against them and none were your average, mentally healthy female. She also ignores the fact that the public agreed with those guilty verdicts and most disagree with FCA's - the same 'public' that the juries are chosen from. If prejudice against finding females guilty was a problem in murder cases, wouldn't that show itself in public opinion as well as in a jury? I do think it's possible that outwardly 'normal' females might get, or maybe used to get, a short term advantage of belief during the investigation stage, because males want to see us as the nurturers of the species and the majority of CAP detectives are male. But when the evidence starts mounting up, those prejudices disappear pretty rapidly.

This doesn't have much to do with anything, but I was just thinking... can you imagine what it's like to be someone else with the name Casey Anthony right now? Anthony isn't that unusual a name, and there have to be more than a couple Casey Anthonys out there. Imagine having an Amazon account or something under your name Casey Anthony and having tons of people thinking it's her. I bet there were a few Casey Anthonys who changed their screen names around the the internet.

Not that it matters, but aside from her DT, who is KC supposed to thank for supporting her?

She could have thanked the DT in person, and most likely did.
She had no other supporters that I know of to thank. I suppose she could have publicly thanked those two people who sent her 20$ so she could buy cheeto's and slim jims while in jail?

Haha, she may have some supporters, and I agree none are going to raise their hands in a crowded bar and admit it. But, who is creating the support websites? I am not asking out of interest, as I am not interested. Just think about it. A family, a messed up attorney who needed to make this case news so he could make some money to pay his bills, a convicted felon?
