thank you I needed a good chuckle right about now -- I am hopeful that this will turn out well for Kyron too
***********
Thank you, newone. I'm glad I gave you a chuckle "right about now." I think this case is making us all feel crazed!
I too, am hoping and praying that this drama will end with things turning out well for little Kyron.
This next part I'm posting is about what comes after the relief of our being able TO chuckle...
My heart just broke in a whole new way Wednesday night watching Kaine's face and his tears when he was interviewed at the Wall of Hope.
Thank God we're hardwired as humans to go into shock when something like Kyron's disappearance happens.
On Wednesday, it was 48 days that Ky has been missing when Kaine was interviewed and his grief and stress was shown so clearly.
The shock is wearing off and the high tide of grief is washing in. For whatever reasons, and whether we like it or not, life will not let most of us live forever in numbness and shock.
We go outside in the cold and our fingers freeze and we can't feel them. We come inside and start to warm up and those frozen fingers start to thaw and hurt and throb like hell.
Whatever Kaine heard during those three hours with LE has broken him open even further in a new place in his heart.
I believe some people have been unfairly critical about KH's demeanor at times during this investigation.
The man is an engineer and that choice of profession is informed by a basic temperament of analyzing, problem solving, etc. That "left brain" propensity doesn't rule out his heart, his emotions, and his genuine love for his children.
The duration of this horror is reaching into his core and wrenching him apart. He is growing by having to go through this pain and any "anesthesia" from shock is wearing off.
All of us go through pain to grow -- and that pain hurts like hell -- no matter how much we may learn that ultimately makes us a more authentic person -- a "real" Velveteen Rabbit.
I feel certain that whatever KH heard recently from LE has broken down even more of the defenses we all naturally are prone to attempt to muster in trying to maintain safety, sanity, and some sense of mastery in this world when all hell has broken loose.
And, I believe these recent revelations about the possibility of others' involvement (read TH's friends/acquaintances) in Ky's disappearance has rocked KH to his core -- on top of having already found out about the alleged MFH, TH's sexting with MC, etc.
There has got to be such a sense of being "gaslighted" and betrayed and wondering exactly what kind of a Universe he's been living in. It has, in my opinion, truly been -- and still is right now -- THE TWILIGHT ZONE.
Many of the rest of us are living in that place with him, even though we have our jobs, our families, our activities, etc.
Portland, and the rest of the country, is still living this craziness daily. That's what will possibly create a deafening city wide scream if we don't hear something sane from LE in Friday's presser.
Thursday's revelations about TH's friends' house searches, surveillance, etc. and Wednesday's news about the much discussed "Friday MD appointment" really do have all of us on Kimster's crazy roller coaster from hell.
I do hold out hope that if even just one of TH's alleged "allies in deception" comes out of this "trance" and tells the truth, the rest of us can feel some sanity again.
And, nobody deserves that sense of sanity more than KH, DY, and TY.
When people lie, withhold, evade, don't cooperate, don't tell the truth -- their hinkiness creates a soul sickness for the rest of us who want and need resolution and the truth.
It is time for resolution and the truth -- first and foremost for Ky's family -- and then for the rest of us who have our hearts and souls bound up in the love of that precious, smiling little seven year old guy we've come to love so dearly.
I'm willing to be very hopeful that these recent events with the warrants and searches are a key that will further unlock the mystery of this little guy's going missing.
And, may God, or whatever we may individually call that "Something Greater Than Ourselves" prevail.
