Premeditation? Research Into Axe Murder Found On Cellphone Linked To South African Axe Murder Family
http://www.**************/1943399/p...frican-axe-murder-family/#F7v8dOP5jTCAw6jl.99

From the article mentioned in last link, for some reason the story links will not work but here is the important part:

....the cellphone was used to research information about an axe murder which happened in the U.S.A. back in November 2004.

That axe murder related to Peter and Joan Porco, who were attacked by their son, Christopher Porco in Bethlehem, New York. The case bears a striking resemblance to that of the more recent Van Breda family axe attack.

thank you for the info as i couldn't access it.....i followed that porco case, it was horrifying........he was eventually found guilty thank goodness.........

i can't believe that this son has not been arrested yet

:tyou: coco...........i always admire a gal with links at her fingertips :D

i too was ASTOUNDED at joan's steadfastness in her support of her son....the facts were overwhelming, i kept waiting for reality to kick in for her......and i really felt for the other son, all so sad :(........

i hope poor marli doesn't get lost in the shuffle here, from the stories i've read it sounds like the guardian uncle is protecting the son.......i wonder why

Van Breda axe murder matter still in limbo
http://citizen.co.za/349908/van-breda-axe-murder-matter-still-in-limbo/#.VREv2Y-lgE0.twitter

Marli’s legal representative – advocate Martin Coetzee – confirmed Marli was still in a rehabilitation centre, where she was receiving physical therapy. Coetzee said although Marli recognised people and could talk and smile, her “condition is not of such a nature to give a comprehensive statement” to the police.

Glad to read she is able to talk.

“Although significant progress is being made with our investigation, we will not be releasing information at this stage.”

Traut’s response was in line with previous responses police have provided about the case. Police have consistently provided only scant information, and have yet to officially confirm the identities or the names of the family members killed. The National Prosecuting Authority said it had received the case docket, but had not yet decided on what action to take.

unbelivable,,,,,,,,,,,, poor marli :(

Police remain mum on Stellenbosch golf estate victims
"Despite the names of the Van Breda murder victims from Stellenbosch having been in the public domain for weeks, the police are yet to officially name them - something a 38-year veteran of forensic investigations says is very strange."

“The only thing I can read into that non-disclosure is the fact that they [police] might suspect someone in the family,” said Wessels.

It had been thought that police were waiting for Marli to recover so they could obtain a statement from her, but family spokesperson Ben Rootman revealed at the weekend that the teenager has retrograde amnesia, meaning she cannot recall anything about the attack.

Van Breda son said to be on the run

Although 16-year-old axe attack survivor Marli van Breda’s physical condition has “improved dramatically”, her brother Henri, 20, has fallen off the radar and police are discreetly making enquiries as to his whereabouts.

 Oh come on, it's been ridiculous from the get go!

Axe-murder kids in line to inherit R200m estate
http://www.timeslive.co.za/local/2015/03/17/axe-murder-kids-in-line-to-inherit-r200m-estate

I hope poor Marli will be able to let police know what happened, as if they don't already know! Why don't they just arrest the nutter brother already?

She may never be able to recall or make clear what happened that night. She is young and otherwise healthy, but I imagine she will have some long-term deficits, perhaps not all visible. She survived a horrible physical attack and a large volume of blood loss.

How ridiculous!! [emoji35] So frustrating.

Learning how to post links is on my "to do list", thank you for this link. My thoughts went straight to the sister, is she still under guard? - does anyone know? I know I am paranoid I just worry about her :sigh: being the only remaining family member and all.

MARLI VAN BREDA IN GOOD SPIRITS
http://ewn.co.za/2015/05/02/Marli-van-Breda-in-good-spirits

"The surviving daughter of the Van Breda family seems to be in good spirits, according to the principal of her high school.

16-year-old Marli van Breda this week visited Somerset College to see her friends and teachers.

She was seriously wounded during the axe murder of her parents and older brother at their de Zalze Golf Estate home in Stellenbosch in January.

Somserset College executive head, Meg Fargher, says pupils and teachers enjoyed Marli van Breda’s visit to the school.

“Her friends were very pleased to see her and it was lovely for us to see her.”

Fargher says the visit was not long, but it was good to see Van Breda back on her feet and seemingly doing well."

‘Happy Mother’s Day, Mom’: Marli remembers Teresa

Two weeks ago, the Somerset West schoolgirl honoured her family in photographs captioned ”The people that i love the most’”.

Don’t read too much into Marli’s social media posts - lawyer
http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/N...nto-Marlis-social-media-posts-lawyer-20150511

Cape Town - People should not be too quick to speculate about recent social media posts made by De Zalze axe attack survivor Marli van Breda, her legal representative said on Monday.

“Nothing should be read into the social media posts. The pictures posted were in tribute to [Marli’s] deceased family members. The media should be cautious before jumping to conclusions or making unsubstantiated speculations,” said Advocate Louise Buikman in an e-mail response to News24.

The poor girl, she must miss her family very much. Sounds like she is healing well, which is great.
