Re Tracey Stewart's tweets. I have been practising trying to keep up with the tweeting but I haven't mastered the craft yet. LOL. I don't think I have found the quickest way. I am using a split screen and copy and pasting each Tweet into Word, with the idea of copying and pasting into WS. I think this takes too long. Maybe I should be pasting directly into a reply on the forum. The other problem is that I have 3 other people in the house making demands on me (in the nicest possible way) and I find catching up impossible at times.

Is there a faster way to quote? I would love to know. However, I can do nothing about the interruptions as family must come first.

I am not going to be around today as I have visitors all day. Also Thursday is not possible. I would love to help but I need to find a quicker way of copying the tweets and dealing with the interruptions.

Hi IB, I'm using a PC but I add them one at a time into the post quick reply box and then submit after every 4 or so.

Sorry, I inadvertently included the tweet relating to Marli being given a drug which makes her wide awake etc. twice.

On a different note you may find the following interesting:

When an investigation is underway after an event, in this case murders, investigators frequently legally lie. Read on.

Wow! I never knew about any of that, JJ! Good to know for future reference.... just in case!!

Hmm, Desai has just called counsel into his chambers.

I hope that's applicable to SA court, if so, Botha doesn't have a leg to stand on!

The weird thing is Botha focusing on HvB's claims of 'hurtful' remarks made by the police and emergency services works against HvB.
I've said before :p, it reveals how fully compos mentis he was after, a) a vicious attack killed his family b) being unconscious for 2hrs 40 mins, c) knowing that the killers are on the loose who just massacred his family!

Sorry about not getting the rest of Tracey's tweets, took a phone call by the time I came back there were 52 tweets and I thought it'd be repetitious of what was just posted by JJ, I couldn't screen them. I worry too about boring or annoying readers of the thread.
If you've got them saved IB, it would be great to post them up, I read them all because as you say, there are slight differences and even missed dialogue or points made.

Yesterday Tracey Stewart had a lot to say. Tammy Petersen for News24 may as well not have been in court. She often disappears for lengthy periods. This is yet another reason why we need more than one posting. Everyone's efforts are greatly appreciated.

And when he came round, after his long snooze, he didn't think the killer might be anywhere hiding in the vicinity or might come back to get him, he volunteered to walk about in the street to wave down the ambulance.

Sorry I cannot help with the tweets as I will be out the next three nights. But I do what JJ does. Post direct to WS on reply.

I want to know why Botha lied (and Galloway let him get away with it) about the grey sleeping shorts.

How did Du Toit know Henri needed clothes? The police must have told him to bring clothes because he wouldn't have known.

Adv B: intends calling Uncle Du Toit. Yesterday I telephoned Dr Albertse and with leave of state place this on record
Dr A: one of the officers informed her of the murders, big important matter and Henri is slagoffer "victim"

Dr A said she examined Henri and one officer remained throughout examination, unsure which officer was present. Adv G agrees
Statements made by Botha are admitted into evidence

Adv B: calls Du toit. Is it correct you are Teresa's brother? D: correct
B: You knew the family and each member well? DT: Yes I knew them well

Estate manager called DT morning go murders his number was given as a contact number to security
Told DT to come to De Zalze immediately didnt say what happened
I was at work at the time

B: Your wife Sonja- D: I phoned Sonja to collect me from work and then went to De Zalze
B: when you were on your way did you phone again? D yes I did but he didnt say anything else to me, I phoned my brother too

Adv Botha tells Judge Desai Dr Albertse says two police officers arrived at her rooms that day and he was dressed in boxer shorts. One of the officers informed her of the murders and said that Henri was a victim. She examined him and at least one police officer remained present. She was unsure whether both were present during the course of the examination.

Galloway confirms.

Andre du Toit takes to the witness stand.

He is Teresa van Breda's brother.

He knew the family very well, he says.

The morning of the murders, he got a call form estate manager Boet Grobler. His number was given to the estate in case of emergency.

He told him to go to De Zalze as soon as possible. He didn't say why.

He had been at work at the time.

He phoned his wife, Sonja, to relieve him at work so that he could go there.

He phoned Boet, but he didn't tell me any more.

Did they examine or take Henri's phone away from him? Botha hasn't raised it, so I presume not. But that could have some bearing on whether he was viewed as a suspect.

Saying they took blood for alcohol testing in the evening is a distraction because that was about 5 or 6 hours after he'd given his statement, and the court has only to determine what his status was when they took the statement.

On my way there, I phoned my brother, can't remember if I called anyone else.

When I got there, I saw a number of police vehicles, realised there were problems.

Cordoned off with yellow police tape.

Went closer, introduced myself as family, Col Benecke approached me.

He introduced himself; I had never met him before.

His first words were "Hoe was die familie?"

I didn't know what he meant by that.

I replied that I don't know of any problems.

He turned around and returned to his duties.

D: I told the police I am family and I was given access to cornered area

D: first words colonel beneke said to me was how was the family? I didnt know what he meant? I said i don't know of problems
Colonel Beneke then turned around and walked away

Renee Mathee introduced herself to me and gave me her contact details
D: after that discussion I realized that Teresa, Martin and Rudi had passed - Mr Du Toit is breaking down in tears

then heard that Henri was taken to the police station and Marli to hospital

Non comprende. Why did he phone her? That's not testimony on a phone call! Why is Botha helping the State?

Andre was at work. He drove through to estate. Phoned de Zalze manager again but he manager didn't give much information.
Andre says when he arrived at scene there were police vans and yellow tape securing the area. He introduced himself to police.

Col. Beneke asked Andre what type of relationship family had. Andre said he didn't know of any problems.Beneke went back to work.
Andre begins crying on stand. He becomes emotional when he speaks about finding out Teresa, Martin and Rudi were dead.

Major Renee Mathee introduced herself and gave me her contact number.

During conversation, I realised that... Du Toit starts to cry.

I realised that Teresa, Martin and Rudi had died.

I didn't get anything further.

He can't recall anything being said about Henri and Marli.

Later heard Henri was taken to police station, Marli to hospital.

Sonja later joined him.

When I heard they had died, I informed my family and Martin's twin brothers.

From there, we went to Stellensbosch Mediclinic to try and meet Marli.

They were going to transport her by ambulance to Vergelegen because there were better doctors for her there and they didn't want us to see her in that condition.

Then went to police station in Stellenbosch.
