I find it interesting that he would have something to "tell" her. Tell her like "Oh, she killed herself because XYZ, haha." Like there was a specific event or events he knew about and assumed they were the reason.

I do have a screen shot but did not post as I did not want to break rules. I can PM you or email you if you like but I have no idea how. and yea I found that part interesting but that is how she words it, saying he told her why she did it then he laughed. After reading what we read tonight it just makes me sick.

It sounds to me, they ran the show. They had no fear, it seems. And no heart. The school failed, too. Miserably. I could feel her fear, reading through that. Her hiding in a bathroom stall. I also wonder how badly they wanted to hurt her and how far did they follow her home...

Oh yeah, the rules. Just learning the rules myself. I can't PM yet because I haven't posted enough (learned that from a Moderator earlier today).

I hope so as I'm interested to see what they have on the three older ones, especially SM. The reason I'm interested in his part in all this is that a couple of Phoebe's friends openly support SM. If it was just the fact that they had a relationship then broke up I would understand, however, after reading how he was involved tonight, and who knows what else, I really just don't understand how he could not only stand by and let his girlfriend and her friends say these things but also join in on the name-calling and I especially don't understand how Phoebe's friends could support him considering his involvement. Makes me wonder if she really did have any true friends here.

Yes, but there were little tidbits that were unique to each charged. I wonder where the others PDF is? I'll look around but if I don't find it I might email the station and ask for it...
 
At the risk of sounding repetitive, this sounds ALOT like that Texas case, to me...
 
The NYT's take on the docs...there's so much I could have chosen to quote. But right now...it doesn't feel like it matters. :( I just feel so sad for Phoebe. I think I may even cry for her tonight. No child should be left in pain like that. And then treated with such disrespect after death by some of her classmates and school officials! SHAME on Gus Sayer for saying she never asked for help! She kept it to herself, he said...wow...so, I just picked a couple of paragraphs. This poor kid...

She told a friend that she was “not a tough girl” and “would not know how to fight,” and at one point she asked friends to surround her as she walked in the hall."

In December, Ms. Prince had a brief relationship with Mr. Renaud, the prosecutors said, drawing the wrath of his sometime girlfriend, Ms. Mullins, and her friend Ms. Velazquez.

Ms. Mullins later spread word that she was going to “beat Phoebe up.” Ms. Prince told friends that she “was scared and wanted to go home,” her friends told investigators, and went to see an administrator. But she later returned to class and told them that nothing was being done and she was still frightened.

Mr. Sayer confirmed that Ms. Prince had gone to a school officer crying at least once, although it was not certain this was the same incident, but that she did not report the bullying.

I'm starting to wonder the same. If she had some true friends then how afraid could they be? If they get beat up for talking it would instantly be world wide news.

If the taunting and ostracizing (sp?) started early enough, could it be that people she might have been friends with never got close to her (because they were trying to avoid getting targeted as well)?

The failure to report appears to have been violated if the information they DA put in those charge statesments is correct. And I've read notices about Phoebe crying inthe nurses office going way back... somewhat surprised we at least haven't been treated to a round of press people trying to talk to the nurse (and getting told its private information).

Well, there is a DA Timothy Cruz. Here's his page...and I recall the local comment gossip off that blog about 3 teachers being charged...although, as my friend jjenny may remind me...it's just a comment...lol...and she may be right. ;) I'm still hopeful, though.

"People are furious in and out of Massachusetts. The people of Ireland are angry at South Hadley, Massachusetts. The people of South Hadley are “enraged” at South Hadley High School. District Attorney Elizabeth Scheibel, daring da from Western Massachusetts, is angry at nine kids. Oh yeah, speaking of the 9 kids who get to have their lives ruined next Tuesday…I wonder who they are made at. Maybe their attorneys will tell us during the arraignment.

You see, something that I pointed out in the Boston Criminal Lawyer Blog yesterday has begun to dawn the local populace. The daring da’s annulment of criminal culpability and earlier admissions aside, it turns out that staff members at the school did know that the late Phoebe Prince was the target of harassment long before her death.
And so, not missing a beat, residents and public officials have been begun to angrily accuse the school system of neglecting vulnerable students and have called on top administrators to resign. “Now we find out they knew all along, and did nothing,’’ said Joe Marois, who runs a local construction company. “People are just bewildered they didn’t step in, and are wondering why they weren’t included with the students in the prosecution.’’

Is the next step a superseding criminal indictment by the daring da? Perhaps the legislature will begin work on a new ANTI-TURNING-YOUR BACK WHEN PEOPLE IN YOUR CHARGE ARE BEING HARASSED bill.!

"Somebody should alert the Boston Globe columnist mentioned in yesterday’s blog that there is a new hero in town. State Representative John W. Scibak, who represents South Hadley, has slammed school officials for their silence, and said the public deserves a full accounting of why administrators didn’t act on the harassment reports.

“I’m looking for answers,’’ he said. “Families have a reasonable expectation that these kinds of complaints will be acted on, and they are entitled to a full explanation of what transpired. People wanted answers two months ago.’’

Also looking for answers are various parents from the school. “They lied to the community,’’ said Darby O’Brien, whose stepdaughter is a senior at South Hadley High School. “They lied about how long it had gone on, and they lied that the mother had never come forward. If they had stepped in, this could have been prevented. But they failed miserably, and I don’t think you can trust them to protect the safety of the students.’’
