I have the autopsy report open right now. The ME describes the size of the stab wounds on the torso as being 0.75 to 1.5 inches. The deepest cut was to the vena cava, which was approximately 3.5 inches deep. He also uses the language "all wounds display blunt and sharply incised ends." Anyone know what he means by that?

What he is describing there is that the knife was blunt on one side, and sharp on the other. Some knives are double sharp sided. This one wasn't.

Rewatching Ryan Burn's testimony. According to the prior discussion, JA was supposed to arrive at Ryan's on the morn of June 4. She got there a day later. Question--if she had preplanned to visit TA and kill him, why didn't she tell Burns that she would arrive later than the morn of the 4th. Is that evidence that the visit to TA was actually unplanned, or is it just that she didn't expect her visit to TA to last so long (i.e., she was intending to kill TA right away)?

That would only be evidence that is was unplanned if there wasn't a landslide if evidence that it was premeditated.

Murders don't always go according to plan. Sometimes there are hitches. Or it takes awhile to get up the nerve. Or to get the victim in a defenseless position. Wow, everybody, thanks for your input. Bringing along a change of clothes in a large tote bag would add to the premeditation because she knew she was going to be covered in blood and needed to get out of Dodge in clean clothes and looking fresh. She probably added the other clothes to the wash to make it look like a normal wash and not a crime scene clean-up.

Could she actually have taken a shower where Travis's sliced up body was? I wouldn't put anything past such an evil person!

The force with which the blood from the carotid artery would exit the body would make a huge mess. This is totally gross but there is a scene from Gray's Anatomy of a severed carotid artery.

When I saw this news about this woman breaking in a house through the doggy door, I thought for a minute JA may have escaped.
I dont think those doggy doors are good to have for security if people can get through them.

When I read that her name is Sara Soto, I had to double-check if this took place in FLORIDA. (It was in Texas)

The married couple returned home to find her, naked, in their bathtub.

With all the crime shows I watch it seems that dismemberment is a trend with killers. That is so beyond disgusting. Yuck.

I remember a while back one of her jailbird cronies said (a lie in MO) that JA told her she did kill Travis, and cut him up, and tossed his parts throughout the desert....I've always wondered if JA really did mess with her head and said it...

I completely believe she slit his throat at the place indicated on the carpet. She had already stabbed him and he had lost blood. But the huge pool at the end of the hallway, on the carpet is where she did the throat slitting. One sick ticket.

Speaking of doggie doors. I find it amusing, the mental image, had Jodi gotten stuck in the doggie door and could not escape. Explain that one to the cops Ms. Arias.

i just thought the same thing!!!!

Ive always thought that,ive seen many a beheading video ( dont ask ) and its eerily similar angle etc. You grab by the hair tilt the head slightly back and start hacking away.
Poor travis.
Ive seen a beheading done in about 20 seconds but those are syrian rebels who do those things every day, dear travis would have suffered immensely since jodi wouldnt have (well I hope not) done this before.

The blood on the carpet could have been from the cuts to his back or the stab to his chest...it looks to me like his back slid across the wall then he fell, possibly on his chest, which was bleeding profusely. JMO

My theory is that she was waiting for the roommate to leave so she wouldn't be caught and also because she planned for the murder to take place in the shower so she had to get Travis in the shower. The roommate was there when Jodi arrived. And he apparently came back around 3:00 -- maybe around the time they finished having sex. Jodi took a shower (according to her) and the roommate was still there until around 4:00.

Coincidentally ,4:00 is when the last computer activity was on Travis' computer. My theory is that Jodi somehow got Travis to go downstairs and get on the computer with her around that time so she could monitor when the roommate was leaving. Shortly after she was sure the roommate was gone, she got Travis to go upstairs and shave and then shower. That was her first opportunity to get Travis in the shower when there were no roommates there.

I agree, she was probably on eggshells as the one roommate was off that day and thus harder to plot his movements. IIRC he left the house around 11 or 11:30am and then returned at 3pm leaving again at 4pm. When you consider how tight the timeline was, is it any wonder the crime scene was "disorganized" and that she made so many mistakes?

Is the public able to access that info? I am curious. Baez was not a public defender, on her case, as far as I know, right? She still owes him money too, I believe.

I think so too... and I think that with Travis's body covering the shower drain, and such a shallow lip on the edge, that the shower overflowed and that's how the water-mark stains got onto that box in the linen closet.

Wouldn't it be nice if the guilty party, once convicted was required to PAY ALL LEGAL COSTS incurred by the court BOTH defense and prosecution?

If you cause a problem anywhere else in life you have to pay for it, why not in these types of cases?
