:seeya: It's all good. You are very analytical in your posts and it's great to have different angles and points of view.

One thing I find odd, is there is not one spot of blood on the carpeted staircase leading to the lower level.

I could be mistaken but didn't they go through the closet, as Detective Flores did? Anyway, the roommates were guys and all the shoeprints I've seen (or imagined) have been a woman's shoe. :)

I've been looking at this way too long. Apologies for any errors.

This is true. :seeya: It will be interesting to see if anyone from Jodi's family speaks after this trial is over.

When Jodi left home at 17, iirc she moved into Bobby J's grandma's house, not hers. For all we know, Sandy begged a reluctant grandma to temporarily take her in post-murder, and she knows all too well the evil Jodi is capable of. Grandma may be in court supporting Sandy, but not Jodi. The DV ribbon she's wearing may be in recognition of all the times Jodi has abused her mother.

Because Jodi cleaned herself up completely before she left the bedroom area. There is no way in hell that Jodi was going to wear anything bloody, including shoes, downstairs. The blood that may have been in the car, IMO, came from her own wound on her left hand. Jodi could have been wearing shoes in the bathroom/bedroom and not had them on when she left the bedroom. It isn't as if the shoes were glued to her feet or anything, shoes are easily removed.

Good afternoon, all :seeya:

Hopefully this isn't too o/t (& I'm sorry if I'm jumping in the middle of convos here!), but I watched a movie last night that, to me, reminded me SO much of Jodi. It was on Lifetime Movie Network, called "She Made Them Do It" and was the true story of Sara Pender. Basic synopsis is this person, Sara, was convicted of brutally murdering her two roommates, along with her boyfriend. She claimed (& still claims to this day) to be innocent and roped EVERYONE who came in contact with her to help her. Literally from the day she was sent to jail, she made friends, seduced a jail guard, had friends & family lie for her & do horrible things for her (which THEY ended up in jail for), manipulated lawyers, etc. She ended up breaking out of jail, with the help of her sister & a jail guard who she had been having sex with. While a fugitive, she met an older man who she yet again manipulated with sex, who gave her a job, she extorted money from his business...and the list goes on & on. I did not know the story of Sara Pender as I was watching the movie and even *I* thought that perhaps she was innocent! Eventually she was caught & returned to jail where she still resides today.

Anyway, she reminded me of Jodi SO much, especially what will happen if Jodi gets LWOP instead of the DP. Sara manipulated everyone who came in contact with her, especially in jail. NO ONE spoke a bad word about her, even the jail warden! They all thought she was the sweetest thing, helped her with anything she asked for, did illegal things for her, etc. I believe this is precisely what Jodi will do too as she did it in life outside of jail. Manipulated others with sex, has had people (friends/family) lie for her, pulled people into her evil web. Sara Pender destroyed many lives. Her sister went to jail for helping her escape, the jail guard who was having sex with her went to jail for helping her escape, lost his job, lost his family, the older man (on Sara's advice!) was going to kill HIS wife..thankfully that didn't occur...and so on. If Jodi spends the rest of her life in jail, instead of on death row, I believe this is what she'll do. She will continue to infect people with her poison and THAT is just another reason to give her the DP. :moo:

that because she was all cleaned up by then imo

I know that I'm skipping forward here, in keeping with being optimistic.

Does anyone know much about Victim Impact Statements in the penalty phase? How many victims (members of Travis's family) could make statements? Is there anything that might be disallowed during this phase? Will JM assist them in the preparation of the statement(s)?

I keep thinking about the 18 page letter that JA wrote to Travis's grandmother and how painful that must have been for his family. We can only begin to imagine some of the things that she must have written. She probably makes statements equivalent to her diary and TV interviews, speaking about how heinous it was and the penalty the killer deserves. I sure hope that the are able to read passages from this if it helps their cause.

This will be a very emotional week for Travis's siblings. After years of waiting for this trial, and then months and months of testimony, there is a five day break only to be followed by yet one more shrink and the highly charged closing arguments. No matter how long it takes for the jury to announce that they have reached a verdict, every minute will creep ever so slowly by them.

They are all very much in my thoughts and heart right now. May God smile upon them now and help them find whatever peace they can in the future.

That's right! Those were never admitted in as evidence and then MM fell off the face of the planet.

I can't believe Travis is continuing to be thrown under the bus even after his untimely death.

Unfortunately the jury has no idea about those "letters". The jury does however know that Jodi has lied under oath and lied directly to them when they asked her questions. I do not see a repeat of that Florida horror show happening this time around.

The strange detached behaviours of Jodie's family REALY bother me. Do they not realise that this is a death penalty case not a circus. I seen Jodie's mom giggling looking around, like she is looking for the lady selling peanuts and popcorn.
Dear grandma looks around and at the ceiling like she's bored poor things! It must be hard for her to sit there all day.

Justice for travis

I shall add here that there have been anecdotal (is that a word and did I spell it correctly?) anyway I've seen some little programs on TV where the recipient of a transplant starts craving certain foods and then if they are in contact with the host family they go to them and say.."Hey you know I've really been craving Lefse and whole milk and I never have had it in my whole life." and the host family says, "OH JA, Swen was a huge fan of lefse, we ate it all da time."

~

Another debate could be held about 'cell memory'. Now, I am a fan in the cell memory camp and if you would like to get into a heavy conversation about that we could probably start a whole new thread somewhere....
I think you're right! I saw a program one time where the recipient suddenly started craving bell peppers, had never eaten them prior in their life, and when the host family was contacted, the donor loved bell peppers.

Yes. Hate the crime, love the child. There are many of us mom's who stand by our child. Does not mean we support what they did.

IMO grandma knows exactly how it is.

Yes they would. I had to when my son got into trouble when he was 17 selling drugs. We stood by him but also made it clear that since he did the crime he would be paying for it by doing 3mo jail time, fines etc. deferred adj. and since we spent his college money on all this he had to pay his way and if he ever screwed up again he could not come back home. We also got him some serious therapy. We all got some serious therapy. He is 35 now and married and successful. When he went back to court to ask the judge to remove his name from the data base which the judge did, she was very happy to see a success story.

BBM ~ JSS did say that they are going all day Wednesday until they are finished.

If it's another Dr. Samuels or ALV, the juror will be there at least 12 hours.

Which is why (imo), Judge Stephens has truly messed up granting the DT a surrebuttal. Whether or not the murderer has BPD, PTSD, ASPD or any other disorder, it doesn't change three things:

1) she knew right from wrong

2) she committed premeditated, first-degree murder

3) she has clear motivation to continue to lie and has taken repeated, calculated steps to cover her *** to avoid consequences

The DT is in panic mode to save her life and has no other recourse than to drag out the trial. We have lost THREE jurors already, and I have no faith that the Judge's timeline will come to pass. If Nurmi does the direct, this could drag on for days. Will the Judge put her foot down? Don't trust it...

Great great post Charlie

Well it's obvious you need me to do an intervention on you so sit back and LISTEN to the advice of an old woman ok?

First off, don't give your right arm away or you won't be able to do this: :seeya:

Secondly, it's really only natural to fantasize about a man who is completely inaccessible to you. Travis Alexander has passed away and you don't get to see all of his trivial failings as a human being, which was what he was...a human being.

He was not a saint, or perfect or an angel he was a human being. He had his personality traits as well. We ALL DO.

Now, on to this statement you've made here which I have bolded: "I'm just angry that I'll never get to meet a wonderful man like Travis."

We need to work on your perception as to why you think you will never meet a wonderful man. There ARE wonderful men out there. (And when you find any I want you to call me immediately :floorlaugh:)

I'm JOKING. But there are wonderful men out there and you are only 33 holy smokes what I would do to go back to my 30's. Heh, heh...I'd be a rich woman.

I've been around the block more times than Girl Scouts selling cookies and I'm here to tell you to GET OFF the dating sites. Go get into life!! Join some kind of club that goes hiking or boating or fishing or something where men with shared interests will be.

Try selling fresh bread at the farmer's market, men LOVE fresh bread.
Yup! I didn't meet my husband 'till I was 31. I met him through a subgroup of the Sierra Club, Sierra Singles. Lots of activities.

Does anyone think? Jodie's sweating bullets! Right about now considering this trial is drawing to an end?
