I am finding the defense's case so far a lot more interesting than the prosecutions' case. The prosecutions' seemed to drag on forever. The defenses' seems to be moving along quite faster and is a lot more entertaining. Can't wait til the Cary Clique is brought back on the stand. It will be like watching a real episode of Real Housewives.

So I guess he's saying he used the withdrawal method, so he can't be the father. Hmmm....

I think JP is the far more likely suspect. How many times did he say he was worried about his kids and his reputation. He described NC running route then tried to act like he meant something else. He threw out the crazy "Michael" story, I don't really believe there is a "Michael". He tried to make himself part of the CPD "team" throwing out theories, "We need to figure this out", "It would have had to be somebody from just outside the circle" it just went on and on. He had so many ideas and things to add to the investigation but on the other hand he was saying he really hadn't had contact with NC and didn't now NC & BC all that well. He sounded like a perp straight from an episode of the First 48.

One more very interesting comment made by JP: Have I been helpful to your investigation? This guy hits the top of my radar screen. He would be high on my list of suspects.

Personally, I think the painting thing was made up. Can you IMAGINE the hubby and wife convo, "Hey, NC is coming over at 8 or so to paint the dining room. How about we wait until RIGHT before she gets here to move EVERYTHING out and prepare for it?"

So far, for me, JA and JP seem to be the least credible witnesses in this trial. They both seem to have something to hide.

Well, the interesting thing is the initial call she placed to the police, she said her friend was due there to paint "by 9". Then somewhere along the line it shifted to 8. I believe it's because it FIT better because JA had plans to take her kids somewhere at 10:30, making it seem very unlikely she would have scheduled that. Plus NC was complaining to her sister just a few days prior that she was sick of painting. I have said all along that I don't believe there ever were plans to paint on Saturday.

Oh he asked them questions based on Facebook too. I just thought it was funny he was doing it on the fly after we had just been warned of the evils of the internet during instructions.

I nail people's social media ahead of time whenever I can. You learn SOOO much from their facebook, twitter (heaven help them if they have a myspace) and it really is awesome to have that tool. Linkedin even helps.

I think all this stuff is A) misleading about people in terms of the courtroom and B) way to early in the game to tell how much of this stuff really should fly.

Part of the challenge was to share how you did it. I can accept that there are many things I don't know or understand. I am not surprised by anything involving MS Windows or IE7. So, what is different in these searches versus those what you got over the weekend?

Second, why are these .bmp rather than .cur? I don't get any of these with .bmp.

I am personally willing to recognize your superior skills, but only with I can validate your actions. Not flame bait to any side.
I explained the difference between the .cur and the .bmp files a couple of times this weekend. No one liked the answer then either. Here is a link to that posting if you want the details.

You do remember somebody murdered nancy, right? I wish the autopsy photos were allowed to be posted here, to put some perspective on what we are discussing here.

No one is insuating (that I know of) that the crime was not horrific. But if it takes the emotional PULL of the crmie scene photos for someone to overcome the LACK of evidence, what does that say about the evidence?

I think the same things that make BC look guilty point towards JP. Financial gain. Due to North Carolina's law about unforgiven (BC was not seeking alimony, so his affair would not affect it) adultery being a cause to deny alimony if this got out, she loses a LOT in the divorce. So she appraoches him about it, he kills her or has her killed.

JP's ex-wife was suing his then-girlfriend for alienation of affection. His girlfriend had also had an affair with BC. Both the ex-wife and the girlfriend were calling NC. JP said he told NC that he wasn't involved in it. That is one big tangled web that was happening around the same time as her murder.

What are you trying to say? You lost me. I said I am not trying to put down NC at all.

You are disgusted that BC was seen speaking with a woman in France and they were in a hotel room, with a door open. No one saw or stated anything about a sexual relationship. But, you seem to think that NC was so much better, even though, we heard today that she was naked on the couch with a man, engaging in sexual relations. What am I missing?

By showing autopsy pictures it doesn't mean that people are going to think BC is guilty WITHOUT evidence.

Colleges also look at kids' facebook "stuff." :floorlaugh:

Although I work in a totally different industry altogether, spouses are "allowed" to go on our business trips, but it is not encouraged. We have meetings, trainings, etc all day long and corporate events at night, which are for employees and not spouses. I have seen a couple spouses attend these business meetings and are miserable because they do not see their significant other at all throughout the duration of the meeting, aside for sleep. So, I can see why NC did not go. Not really a big deal in my opinion

That's one of the main reasons it's frowned upon, and yes, they are usually boring for the spouse.

Also, and I'm not naming any company here, but "things" happen on business trips. All the time. It's not unusual. And it's widely accepted.

Don't get me started on if your clients or colleages are based out of a few certain countries. In those cases, professional escorts are usually involved.

I'm not saying any of this is morally right. It just is what it is. :innocent:

Hypothetical:

*NC and JP have run together or he has met her on her route, why?
*youngest daughter is JP's (timing from couch episode to birth is perfect)
*NC (who needed $) was getting secret payments to keep it quiet
*JP (Mr. I would do anything to protect my family/livelihood) decided to end it

FROM THE MOUTH OF JP:

"we started intercourse..."

yes, he said it. he said other things too, but he definitely said "we started intercourse".

secret payments lol

And how was JP going to look for NC in places nobody else would look if

A. he didn't actually know her running route so how would he know these places

and

B. He knew she had a group of people she ran with, why would they not know the places to look for her?

Bless you for saying that...I see very little of her mentioned here...especially as the victim. Nancy was murdered and deserves to be remembered in all of this. I was here when she first went missing and need to figure out when and how this case turned sidewise. So sad to see the victim victimized.

Psst, it' the other Sleuth that did the test. I'm just an innocent bystander. :)

OOPS! Sorry. Question still stands, I just need to attach it to the correct poster.

This trial is really getting to me. Having to get my work done around court. Then had to rescue a friend around 1:00 this morning. Candle burning at both ends and in the middle.

Except Brad made mention of how many 'side activities' he went on with the french girl. He said he couldn't remember the name of the other participants from his own MBA program, nor the names of other cisco employee's who might be on the same trip, because 'they didn't afford themselves of the socializing he did.' the hiking trips, nights at the pub/s, dinners out, sight-seeing, etc. If you doubt me, go back and view the deposition tapes. He remembered CB's name immediately, but when questioned by AS about 'others on the trip', he couldn't come up with any other names. Nobody but Celine, because they did these 'side activities' together.

A victim's body, it's condition, etc. is considered evidence. Were you aware of that?
