A suspicious person approaching a male child in Kyron's age range. I hope this is carefully checked out.

And it was @ 8:15 near the school. I have always wondered if Kyron had left school for some reason. Was he nervous about the talent show? Some shy kids get anxious about having to go on stage. Or maybe he forgot something and rfan out to see if TH was still in the parking lot.

He's from Beaverton School District so it's unlikely he would be attending a Science Fair for Portland School District. JMO

I don't see that as so unlikely. According to the video the man lived on Emerson St. in N. Portland., not Beaverton. Heck it would have been almost on his way to work. I would like to know when this guy resigned. If you watch the video, it says the violation was as of 7/22/10. So when did he go on the run? All the video says is tht he resigned in the summer of 2010. Why don't they say when? I don't like the whole stink of this situation!

Portland just seems to be full of perverts, I don't mean to offend any locals as I am sure every place is. I guess I am frustrated after reading a frontpage story on katu.com about the great issue of banning perfumes from workplaces...how about we round up some sex offenders instead with all of that energy?

Where I live, in NM, they have frontpage debates about whether red or green chili is better, so I don't mean to pick on Portland, but I am sick of all of the crime, the victims, the bad laws and sentencing problems, parole violaters, people out on bail who should not be, etc...getting a handle on crime has to be #1.

After reading about Portland from Kyron's case, I don't really feel that it is "full of perverts" at all. The sex offender ratio in Portland is 3217 to 1 and in Colorado City, where Hailey Dunn disappeared from, it's 394 to 1. Portland is a big city and Colorado City is a small town so it is pretty sad that Colorado City has a much larger ratio of sex offenders than Portland. It seems like a lot of these small towns in the middle of nowhere have a lot of sex offenders; (I think it's because it's very cheap to live there and we know that SO's aren't working six figure jobs.)

I know it is not true that Portland is that bad...I've just been reading Portland news sites for the past 8.5 months and there have been a number of incidents...and I was venting and apologize. It is worse where I live, numbers-wise, but we don't have a missing child whose disappearance has resulted in one of the biggest cases in Oregon history. So I guess I just hope it is safe to assume that every creep LE encounters is being considered.

BBM I wonder if that is the actual ratio, or only those who have actually been accused, caught, tried, and convicted? From reading some MSM accounts, it would almost seem, to me, that it could be higher - but what do I know.

My opinion only

To be a registered sex offender, you have to be convicted, right? It's not the ratio of child molesters; it's the ratio of sex offenders. There's a difference. There are plenty of sex offenders who had sex with a 17-year-old when they were 19 or something similar. And there are plenty of people out there who aren't registered even though they molest their own kid.

They could just focus on child sexual abuse cases for the sensationalist factor. Portland is a big city (500k in population) so it's not surprising that there would be a fair number of cases involving sexual abuse of children. Another city's newspaper might have the attitude of sweeping it under the rug, not reporting it because it will make their city look bad. So it might seem that Portland has way more sexual abuse cases than other cities, but they may just be more likely to report them. And since Kyron's case is going on right now, reporting about all these child sex abuse cases will get people wondering, "Could this guy be involved?" which brings in more viewers to the website which means more money from ads, etc etc.

Thank you. I believe that's what I was trying to say - in the politically correct way, of course.

The Stranger Abduction Theory:

I have tried -- many times -- to have an "open mind" that a "stranger" could have abducted Kyron ...

But it just doesn't work for me ! :banghead:

While I do believe it is "possible" ... I do not believe it is "probable" ...

:cow::cow:

Prayers for Kyron and that he is found soon !

Hope

Can someone please tell me what's on this guy's chimney? Also, can't say for sure if it was his or not, but note the white pickup parked in front of the house.

The thing on his chimney is a cap for when you have a gas furnace installed. They install a liner inside the chimney to prevent moisture from ruining the mortar, and cap the chimney with that gadget. Short story, every house with a heating system converted to gas from oil has one of those caps. We have one.

The only PDX-->Europe direct flight is that one; not the red flag you might think.

Huh, okay, thanks. I'll take your word for it if you've got one that looks just like it. I've never seen a gas furnace vent so small. They usually look more like the other vents you'd see in that neighborhood. Similar to this.
