The guessing where they came from does not work for me. Too many other houses on the way closer to the Thumb.

And if he passed them on the way, why would he think they are going to the Thumb? Maybe he passed them and was in the parking lot and saw them come? That is a while in the parking lot though

It'll all make sense with time, there is no reason to turn this into rocket science. Professionals have been on this for years and we are on the cusp of the answer.

You're right. I think if he saw them on the way to the store that he started to follow them then, when the boys get to the store, he goes back to where he first saw them and waits for them. He thinks Rassiers driveway is a mininum maintence road.

I didn't see anything on the pages regarding "lack of footprints"....but maybe that will be forthcoming or I missed it. So there's 2 sets of tire tracks, somewhat possibly similar but yet physically + specifically discordant. The interesting thing is LE discounted Heinrich's tire tracks not once-but twice(1989 + 2003). Kevin's tire tracks were a conundrum until he(Kevin) came forward. If Heinrich's tire tracks were discounted, then that means LE was following Kevin's tracks for years. And when Kevin came forward, then the logical conclusion is abduction by perp on foot. There must be something else compelling on that driveway to explain this perplexion.......or not?

I did not get the impression that nothing was happening when I read the book. Instead, LE needed evidence. Big problem. Luckily technology advanced.

Once LE plays their final card you will see noone else could have done it better. You will see that the concerns people have raised were well aware by LE all along.

They had him in and Jared missed him in a line up. But lets not be hard on Jared because he was just a kid at the time.

Also because Heinrich was known to change his looks and his weight over relatively short periods of time. In this case a full year had passed before Jared saw him in a lineup.
