...Brad Simpson, was arrested in Kendall County – about 30 miles north of San Antonio – on a family violence charge, according to inmate records from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office. The husband was booked into the Texas Hill Country Jail shortly after 4 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, on charges of assault causing bodily injury to a family member and unlawful restraint.

Reading like police have an operating theory about what happened and have taken steps to ensure community safety while searching. This becomes a stronger case if they find her. Reminds me a little of Elizabeth Capaldi in Pennsylvania last year.

The assault charge is making me wonder if these have been filed because someone saw him hurt his own wife? Kid?

  • Suzanne has been missing since 10pm Sunday from an address at the corner of East Olmos Dr and Shook Ave.
  • She's about 5'5" tall, 140 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
  • Last seen wearing a black, knee-length dress, and black high heels that she may have taken off.
  • She was at the Argyle in Alamo Heights before her disappearance.
Snipped & BBM

Something that sticks out to me is the explicit information that she may have taken off her shoes...what could be a reason behind making sure that was specified? Did someone see her barefoot after she left the club? Did they find a black high heel in the area? Just thinking out loud.

Neighbor reports hearing screams during fight before Suzanne Simpson's disappearance

According to the police report, a neighbor told police he saw Brad and Suzanne arguing outside his window. The two then began physically fighting with each other, with the neighbor saying he saw Brad "grabbing her upper torso area to gain control of her body." He said Brad was clearly trying to keep Suzanne from running away.

After several minutes, the neighbor went outside with his flashlight to look for the couple when he heard screaming coming from a nearby wooded area and he ran back into his home. After about an hour, he told police he saw Brad drive off in his pickup truck, returning about one or two hours later, according to the police report.

I wonder why that neighbour did not call the police, what a sad situation. Fearing she will not be found safe (all IMOO)
I can think of some reasons witnesses may be wary to reach out to police...don't want to be seen as the nosy neighbor, could fear retaliation, worried about immigration status, have their own legal issues, etc.
However, I think we can all agree that calling the police in this situation could have prevented escalation...if it did occur.
As you said, a sad situation all around.

The affidavit adds that Brad Simpson has been “uncooperative” with the investigation and did not show up to a follow-up interview.

At some point, Brad Simpson went to his ranch in Bandera County and “appeared to be separating himself from his family,” the affidavit states.

Olmos Park Police Chief Fidel Villegas interviewed Brad Simpson’s relative, and the relative said Brad Simpson “had called him and apologized for all the problems that he had caused.”

As of Wednesday morning, authorities have not located Suzanne Clark Simpson.

Villegas said at an early afternoon press conference that authorities are asking for tips about Brad Simpson’s 2019 black GMC Sierra and whether it was seen in a suspicious place on Sunday evening.
