What about the attempted jury tampering? If it is not included as possible grounds for appeal, then Un-named Person In Purple's fine efforts at engaging the jury in friendly conversation will have been wasted.

I read in The Australian today that it was a "man dressed in red who asked for a betting tip about the upcoming verdict."

The Courier-Mail stopped short of revealing her new name, but all it would take would be for someone to cut and paste bits of her quoted "profile" into google, and very quickly arrive at the real estate agency website it came from.

What's the bet that pretty soon, she will have to change her name AGAIN? :facepalm:

Already been sleuthed on another site too. But I don't understand the point in changing her name and then going on 60 minutes- national TV- so all could see what she looks like. Even if she changes it again- people will recognise her! Unless she plans to run off into the sunset with her 6 figure sum... Personally I find it repugnant to see her profitting from this. I have refrained from saying too much on her in the past- she was not the one on trial for Murder, though I certainly didn't agree what she had done with regards to the affair. But she has sunk further in my estimation with this interview. I find it in really poor taste, after all that has happened and ultimately Allison losing her life. WHy could this woman not go quietly now with some respect and dignity. The only way I could see any good from the interview and payment and for TMCH to redeem anthing is if the money went straight to the 3 childrens trust fund.

So symbolic

National Wattle Day - why do we celebrate?
Wattle is our national floral emblem. It is a symbol that comes directly from our land;
Wattle is Australian and represents us all. Unlike other national days, National Wattle Day excludes no one;
Like our people, wattle has great diversity (with nearly 1.000 species) and resilience;
Wattle welcomes in the spring and is among the first plants to regenerate after fire, reminding us of the importance of renewal as it paints our national colours across our land; and
Wattle is a unifying symbol for all Australians. There is no other symbol that says so much about us and our land, Australia.
Wattle is a symbol of Australia and Australians.

I have a spot which has just been cleared in my front yard, and I would like to celebrate Wattle Day by planting a Red Wattle there. With thoughts for Allison, of course. (wasn't her hair described as "red/blonde" at one stage?) Ever since I found out about this unique flower I have wanted to get one.

Looks like they didn't stick around to back up their comment.
Just came to - is there a "stir the pot" symbol. There's not, we need one. :stir pot:

as the man who blew the lid on the rogue helicopter pilot once said....."im ready to explode like Mt StHelens"

I agree, a verdict of murder is unreasonable.

Remember that intent does not have to mean premeditation. It is hard to 'accidentally' strangle or smother someone until they actually die. This was discussed at some length in the early days on here with medical insiders weighing in as I recall. Sorry I wouldn't know where to start with a link. Anyway would be interested to understand the reasons for your comment.

I would think it would be hard to justifiy it was an accident, and anyway, GBC has never claimed that, he has claimed he knows nothing about any attack on her and implied she went for a walk and didn't come back.

It doesn't make sense at all *scratches head*. WHY, why go to all that trouble, then jump out so that everyone can see her again, I'm wondering if she's got a tell-all book in the works...... hmmm ?

If this is the case, then this will explain exactly why she did the interview..With her life in tatters, leaving her husband for a man who is now in jail for murder, she probably agreed to let her ex husband have more access with her kids when she split with him, so she could have more time with Gerard, remember he told her for years he would leave his wife for her. Now she is known to the world as the "mistress who drove her lover to murdering his wife".. Whether this is actually the case or not, this is how she is now known....

Im not sure she will get to stay in the Real Estate game now, who would want to list their house with her??? Would any of you?? I most certainly would not.. How could you trust her to have the keys to valuable assets when she is a proven deceitful person...She will need every cent of that $200k, she does not own her own house, is without a husband, her lover is in the slammer and she has publicly humiliated herself and her children....

I actually think it is the only smart thing she has done for herself , seeing everyone already knows who she is and has a bad opinion of her...She looks like she has put on a lot of weight in the last 2 years ( sign of depression according to Olivia Baden Clay regarding her sister in law Allison) She looks quite unstable to be still so emotional about a relationship that broke up over 2 years ago...

I do not feel sorry for her though, she seems to be sobbing for her own losses and so far I have yet to see her devastated for Allison, Allison's family or her 3 girls......

She would of lost a lot of good friends when she first left her husband, as well as damaged her relationship with her kids, any friends she has made in the last 2 years, will mostly drop off after this week, and she will be left contemplating her life and how will she trust anyone again..

But, this is her own doing and she has put herself in this position.. You know what they say...

If you lay down with dogs, you wake up with fleas.....

I thought the same as you that she may be almost unemployable and this money was for her future because she could not work....BUT..she is working in real estate again. Can't say much more, as we can't really sleuth her, but other sites have... Maybe after this interview though she won't be.

Very well written unfolding, I have always enjoyed your posts.

Even if she did this to clear her name somewhat, she could have written an article or even just a letter to the editor in the Courier mail. No pictures, no TV story, no payment. I did feel somewhat sorry for her occasionally but I think she's blown that for most people now.

She doesn't seem to learn from her mistakes very easily. Silly girl. The place she lives is very small compared to Brisbane, she would be easily,easily recognizable wherever she goes.

She is working in real estate...but we don't know how secure that job is...her employer might be getting unhappy with all these ongoing "shenanigans" and her job security might be a bit shaky for all we know.

After Sunday night she's going to be about as attractive as a used condom on the beach (to employers), I dunno, maybe I'm over thinking this, but is Sunday a publicity stunt leading up to a book ? Dunno, dunno, dunno - makes no sense.

Side bar: Saw Kate Kyriacou on our non QLD news broadcast last night. Was so nice to put a face to the tweet!

I had an old schoolfriend attempt to contact me (after 20+ years) after her partner was convicted of sexually assaulting and murdering a child. Apparently she doesn't have many friends. I didn't respond. I may have had she not gone on 60 minutes and "I stillll looove him!" Etc. Geez that riled me up.

Early socialisation of sonny jim:
"Gabbinbar was a new school with teaching areas designed for innovative practices such as open-area teaching and with students drawn from a population which was more professionally oriented and with some students whose histories in their former schools suggested behavioural or social or psychological problems. Added to this was a school Principal who was passionate in his educational beliefs but who challenged more conservative principals less willing to be innovators." (Ken Imison)

I mention this as I was there too. He may have had some behavioural problem. School was free range. I completely understood Lord of the Flies what I read it after only 6 months at this school.

I got the hell out of there. G was there for years.

Thank you for that insight, Possumheart :seeya:

Very interesting.

At least it won't be all about "you-know-who"
@60Mins: Allison #BadenClay was murdered by her husband. On #60Mins 8.00 SUNDAY, her friends on Gerard - “We never liked him.” http://t.co/TiIuQwB2mK

Quite possibly, and even more likely now I think.

Why?

Because that is the only way to ensure that he doesn't get carried away and take the stand and start rambling nonsense?

Because the judge would take one look at him and throw the appeal (and him) out?

They probably told him they wouldn't take it on if he appeared.
