They said the hole was 1 foot long and 5 inches deep. That isn't nearly big enough to put an almost 3 year old child in. I wonder if she started digging and decided it was to much effort and stopped. Or realized she would be caught and stopped.
True But if KC was digging a hole like NG said and gave up on it because it was to much work then IMO Caylee would of never been laid there there fore no K9 hits. Not saying it was meant to be a grave but if it was and KC was digging she would have had to set the body else where until she was ready for it.KC never finished so thats why Caylee possible wasnt laid thereJust a thoughtThat is correct. Doggie no likee holee.

If that were the case, why would George have mentioned it to the neighbor and to LE?Is there some reason that the obvious isn't being paid attention to? It was a yard in transition. They were doing work on the yard. Pavers, about the same dimension as is being discussed for this mysterious "hole" are all throughout the yard. I'll tell ya........when I built my patio, I went a lot deeper than 5" to set slate stones that weren't any thicker than 2". You dig down to set the stone. You dig down deeper to set a foundation of granite, then sand, then stone. Seems they may have thought a paver would look good there and then changed their minds. Mystery solved for me. Nothing nefarious!
To listen to CA with Greta following her around the yard, they were inconsistent. She did everything in her power to mislead. :furious:

I think the fact that GA and CA admited at the beginning they had done some searching in the backyard tells us they suspected something bad had happened and that KC was involved. Also it was reported that the pool storage bin that was in the backyard had been moved closer to the pool sent my hinky meter off the charts. We all know CA has been reporting wrong information all the way through this investigation to protect KC and send the guilt in some other direction. Although at times it has been frustrating it's understandable that she would want to protect her daughter. Sooner or later the A's are going to have to accept the fact that their daughter did what she did. It's alot of reality to get your head around for anyone.
The garden has a lot of cobbled paths and mulch and bark aeras. The disturnance in the ground behind the pool may have been little more that pushing bark chips about. At other spots LE found a plastic weed mat just below the surface. Not broken through. My guess is that KC tried a couple of places and came up against this plastic layer. If there was a depression was there a mound of dirt around it? All I hear is a depression. That is like one shovel full. Ground has to be soft there, isn't it? not much effort put into digging.

I have PLASTIC weed mat myself. Its black plastic mesh. I never thought it would be plastic sheeting? That would be silly. I am not sure what the alternative to plastic would be? What are these fibres you describe made of then?IIRC, the docs call this a "weed barrier". No mention of it being plastic. This may indeed not be plastic, but instead is porous fiber sheeting. It's commonly used by gardeners and landscapers to prevent weed growth and still allow water to pass through. If solid plastic sheeting is used, rainwater can accumulate, and/or move the mulch around or even carry it off of the sheeting.
Anyway, IMO, if KC (or anyone) jammed a shovel into a weed barrier it could possibly show damage as either a distinct dent or a tear.
It's not important, but I imagine KC just pushing bark etc aside with the spade/shovel and seeing the plastic and giving up.The barriers are generally polypropylene fiber, like a fabric. I thought you may have been thinking of solid poly sheet. Sorry.
But I would think that a shovel driven into this would leave a mark.
I'm trying to rationalize the scenario with no damage to the weed barrier. KC is ignorant of the barrier being there, or forgets, or doesn't care. She jams the shovel into the ground and is stopped by the barrier. Yet she does not damage this material upon discovering it? And she does this in multiple places with no damage?
It's almost as though she feels guilty that Casey is taking the fall for something, isn't it.
Huge Pit,,, was this 12 inches or feet?I did not say that!
G and C had a look around and found the "GIANT HUGE PIT dug in their back yard, so they reported it. I am no fan of the A's but in this case what more could they do.

(bold above by me)Huge Pit,,, was this 12 inches or feet?
1 ft by 5 inches sounds like a plant removal.
