The prosecution has now called another forensic medicine expert to the stand. #badenclay @7NewsBrisbane

Dr Hoskins has specialised in interpreting injuries and their possible causes. #badenclay http://bit.ly/1qfaBUn

Dr Hoskins did not examine Gerard. He was given photographs of his injuries. #badenclay

The court is being shown photographs of the scratches on Gerard's right cheek. #badenclay

Dr Hoskins says there are three abrasions and some small scratches on Gerard's face. #badenclay

Dr Hoskins says possibly four small scratches below the "broader abrasions". #badenclay

Well she was driven out in an unmarked police car on Tuesday.

We've not heard anything about where she was at on the night Allison was murdered so I think she'll be back.

The police advised her at one stage to seek legal representation. I took that as meaning at that point she was considered a suspect. I believe she said she was home asleep - no alibi. However, the blood in the Captiva, if relevant, would suggest it likely wasn't TM. She would have had to bring the Captiva back which would increase the risk of being caught, especially given the screams heard. Clearly she was still prepared to have a relationship with GBC after Allison's disappearance so would she stitch him up for her murder?

What was he doing, doctor shopping until he found one who'd buy the razor story?

Dr Hoskins, fmr Qld Health Forensic Medical Officer, was given photos of #badenclay injuries but never examined him @NewsTalk4BC

Forensic medical expert says there are 3 broad abrasions on #badenclay 's cheek and several smaller scratches beneath. @7NewsBrisbane

Yes I think TM is naive, and had a sort of blind infatuation with Gerard, but an accessory to murder .. no way.

Dr Hoskins says an abrasion is "a fancy name for a graze". #badenclay

Dr Hoskins: You can see very clearly that the edges of them ... very raggedy in appearance. #badenclay

Dr Hoskins says the abrasions are not linear. There are notches and a skin tag. #badenclay

Katrina Blowers ‏@katrinablowers 1m

"When you enlarge picture (of largest abrasion) you can see it's very raggedy in appearance. It's not linear." #badenclay @7NewsBrisbane

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 44s

Dr Hoskins says it should be sufficiently obvious to everybody that the largest abrasion has a "raggedy" edge. #badenclay

Dr Hoskins says the smallest abrasion has a curved appearance. It's non linear. #badenclay

Dr Hoskins says abrasions have the characteristics of fingernail scratches. Ragged, the right size and approximately parallel. #badenclay

Dr Hoskins says he is unable to exclude other possibilities. #badenclay http://bit.ly/1qfaBUn

Dr Hoskins is being shown a photograph of Gerard's razor. #badenclay

Dr Hoskins when asked if the razor could have caused the injuries: I find it extremely implausible. #badenclay

Dr Hoskins says we are looking at a device that is designed to prevent such injuries. #badenclay http://bit.ly/1qfaBUn

Something else I'm wondering. If Allison's anxiety/panic attack was that bad she vomited and couldn't drive etc and had to be brought home to sleep. Would she be in a fit state to walk 14km if that is what occurred that night? I know a few people who suffer from panic attacks and can barely get up in that state let alone walk.

"The thing that springs to my mind... they are characteristic of fingernail scratches." #badenclay @7NewsBrisbane

Kate Kyriacou ‏@KateKyriacou

Dr Hoskins says he has performed shave biopsies. You would use a scalpel or an unexposed linear blade. #badenclay

Dr Hoskins says you would use a local anaesthetic and adrenaline to stop bleeding, then bunch the skin a certain way to biopsy. #badenclay

Dr Hoskins says you would not use a disposable razor to perform a shave biopsy. #badenclay

Dr Hoskins says he has assessed "dozens and dozens" of scratch injuries. #badenclay http://bit.ly/1qfaBUn

Why would the car blood have not been cleaned?

Most likely, he didn't even notice it. He put those boxes of toys in there to show that the boot was full, a body couldn't possibly be put in there. MOO

Let alone in the dark in a bushy area which would induce a bit of a panic in anyone ..

Dr Hoskins says the large abrasions on Gerard's face would have bled at the time. #badenclay

Dr Hoskins is now discussing the smaller scratches underneath the large abrasions. #badenclay

Dr Hoskins says the smaller scratches have "fresher dried blood" in them. #badenclay

If anyone is in court are you able to give us an insight as to <modsnip> expressions having all this incredibly stupid behaviour spelled out in so much detail...please? Or is he just stoney faced?

10:20am: The 46th witness Dr Robert Hoskins has been called to the witness box.

The former forensic medical officer with Queensland Health examined photographs of abrasions to Mr Baden-Clay's face.

10:17am: Under re-examination from Crown prosecutor Danny Boyle, Dr Kumar said she believed the razor Mr Baden-Clay had used was an old-fashioned razor.

"One where you have to screw the blade in," Mr Boyle said.

"Yes," Dr Kumar replied.

"He told me he cut himself shaving with an 'old razor'."

Once she was shown a photograph of the razor with which Mr Baden-Clay claimed to have used on the morning his wife disappeared, Dr Kumar said she could not be "100 per cent sure" that the injuries to his face had indeed been self-inflicted
